That's just more evidence that Petitti is in totally over his head. Can you imagine the reaction from the rest of the conference if he reduced the suspension over Michigan's legal threats?

And the NCAA feeding information to the Big Ten investigation before giving Michigan any notice of a finding of wrongdoing just goes to show how compromised all this is. Michigan deserves punishment for anything they've done wrong, but this entire thing has been a massive screw job by all parties involved making up rules as they go.

Exactly, the old Mark Twain adage “It's better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than open it and remove all doubt”. That’s how I feel about all of our insiders. Tired of all of this nonsense and just please rip the bandaid off and get it over with. Taken a lot of steam and fun out of a really good team.

Yes, but remember that it's arguably a technical rules violation for a rule that provides little/no advantage and was going to be removed years ago.  Meanwhile, many other forms of "cheating" have occurred for years and the NCAA was incompetent or looked the other way.  Suddenly now the NCAA is all over this and moving ahead quickly and efficiently?  I smell a rat.

No it’s a clear violation of a dumb rule. Regardless of how think about the rule, it was broken. There has been no denying from anyone connected with the program that rules weren’t broken. The whole argument has been about if Jim knew. As far as other cheating, has nothing to do with this. We got caught, let’s take our medicine and go forward. And by all means learn how to vet potential staff better in the future. Our athletic department has had more than its share in the spotlight of negativity. Time to get it cleaned up.

Nope, in this case some booster who thought he was smarter than the field, along with a low level fanatical staffer, with his immediate coach he reported to hoodwinked us all. Eff them, but especially eff the financier(s). All the Ed Martin links and feels to this episode.

Honestly, fuck all the people that were involved, including the ones we don't yet know about, if there are any more. This may be a small infraction in the scheme of things but boy, did it screw us, and it wasn't necessary.

Yep, you know how people say, “I love … whatever to death”? I’ll now always think of some psycho that UM hired and took down the program for at least a year because he was fucking stupid and did something he could have done legally by watching fucking TV!  Fuck off CS.

Who the fuck goes in Stubhub/TicketIQ/etc and buys tickets to future opponents games using their own name/account.  This is how I knew it did not go too far up the ladder.  Plus the fact you can get better video from TV broadcast, then from an iphone that is 60 yards away.  smh, so over this!

Yep -- this team would be 10-0 right now without any of this, and the players (and students/fans) deserve to enjoy that without any hint of an "asterisk" from anyone.  Also, Michigan has sustained reputational damage that will stick with it of a long time.  It's hugely overblown, but reputational damage often is, and it didn't have to be this way.

None of this lessens my anger at the Big Ten, but this wouldn't have happened if everyone involved had simply done their jobs.

It becomes easier to connect the dots.

BT thought MI would roll over, timing of suspension all but assured JH out for PSU game.

They "overcharged" to 3 game suspension knowing they could plea bargain down to a

2 game if MI pushed back.  Partridge idiocy blows that up.
