Anyone else annoyed by this new Draymond Green Commercial?

Submitted by WesternWolverine96 on March 20th, 2024 at 7:57 PM

You guys watching the NCAA tourney?

Draymond has his own commercial now and is getting paid for his decision's to kick people in the nutz and punch people in the face.  Why the hell are they rewarding this behavior

I might be that old man telling people to "get off my lawn," but I want to puke every time I see this new commercial.

What's next?  A domestic violence awareness commercial starring Miles Bridges?  A sexual assault awareness commercial starring Keith Appling, Adreian Payne, Travis Walton, and Mateen Cleaves?

First of all, you people probably don’t know anyone who’s been shot. I, however, know lots of people who’ve been shot. I know lots of people who claim they want to shoot me, and some of those people are technically my friends. So that’s why I carry a gun.

Second, you people probably trust the government, and you probably trust it because your personal experience with law enforcement has been positive. I’ve had the opposite experience all my life. I’m afraid of the government. I’m afraid of the world, and you can’t give me one valid reason why I shouldn’t be. So that’s why I did not apply for a gun license.

Third, I shot myself in the leg, which is both painful and humiliating. What else do I need to go through in order to satiate your desire to see me chastised? The penalty for carrying an unlicensed weapon is insane. How can carrying an unlicensed firearm be worse than firing a licensed one? I broke the law, but the law I broke is a bad law. Would you be satisfied if the penalty for unlawful gun possession was getting shot in the leg? Because that already fucking happened!

Haven't we beaten Sparty standard behavior nearly to death? I guess we get a kick out it.

I plead we expunge further release of these signs of transgression. In the interest of the safety of young people everywhere. Said commission suspends disbelief.

It’s interesting how winning has led this board to having more and more threads that read like they belong on RCMB & 11W. Who the hell cares. This is lil bro behavior.

Tragedy + Time = comedy

People love to clutch pearls over players misbehavior while they're playing, but quickly come to adore that trait over time.

Look at Barkley, Tyson, Michael Irvin, Pedro Martinez, Laimbeer, Suh, the 80's university of Miami team, etc.

A week before Kobe Bryant died, there were a million stories about how much of an asshole he was. A week later, the same stories showed how much of a "competitor" her was.

Yeah, the Kobe worship is comical.

Ex-teammates would be like "Kobe told me I'd never be good, and he locked me out of my hotel room, and he slashed my tires, and told my mother that she should have swallowed me instead..."

And then end it with "...he just wanted to win so bad, he was a true competitor"

Look I’m a HUGE Kobe fan, but a lot of great athletes are assholes to their teammates. Michael Jordan didn’t come off as the greatest teammate during “The Last Dance”. How many clips have you seen of Tom Brady & Peyton Manning cussing out their teammates? A lot of times to be great you have to accept not always being “liked” by guy on your squad

No. Who cares?

It is annoying how much this board whines and talks about Draymond, and it's just because he's a Sparty. If he went to UCLA he and his antics would only ever get a passing mention and some jokes here and there.

They aren't "rewarding his behavior" he gets ads because he's famous and a big name. Let's be honest, most of the people here who complain about his "behavior" only do so because of where he went to school and not because they really care how he acts.

It's getting tougher to tease Sparty when we keep acting little brother-ish as well.

People who come to be rich and famous (for whatever reason) also tend to garner MUCH more privilege than others.

That's the way of the world.  He's FAR from the only obnoxious famous person who has benefited from "green privilege."  At least he's not OJ.

Ehh…they had a similar commercial with Matthew Stafford making fun of his situation leaving Detroit going to LA. It’s AT&T’s way of having him poke fun at himself. Furthermore, he didn’t come up with the script. If you want to be upset with anyone be mad at the writers.

Has Draymond gotten into trouble off the court? Serious question. I'm okay with my athletes being dicks on the court and staying out of trouble off the court.

Change the channel or record and skip the commercials.  Like we suffer through all this garbage tv, including commercials, but they get millions of eyeballs and make money to continuing putting this crap on the airwaves.

Speaking of commercials and I'm loath to admit it, but I'm like Kim Kardashian's new "Skims" commercial.  It's weird and I like it.

Caught a few minutes of GS/LA Monday night flipping around the channels when I saw the Kia ad come on and I thought "Somebody's paying that bell-end to advertise their product?"  He signed the contract last October, before his latest Ron Artest impersonation, and I guess they went with the sunk cost fallacy.
