#1 2013 RB in GA - "Michigan is my 1st choice"

Submitted by ypsituckyboy on

Fred Jackson His high school coach compares him to Trent Richardson of Alabama.

“If it was my choice, I’d sign with Michigan,” Thomas told the AJC. “I’ve always been a Michigan fan. My dad is a Michigan fan. I’ve got a lot of family up there.”

And more...

Thomas, who rushed for nearly 2,000 yards last year as a sophomore, has early scholarship offers from Vanderbilt, Mississippi State, Southern Miss, and Troy, along with serious interest from many SEC and ACC schools, including Alabama, LSU and Georgia Tech.

Edit: He goes by the name of "Kamani Thomas." If that's even his real name.

He does not have a Michigan offer yet. Coaches already have offers out to Ty Isaac and Wyatt Shallman, however, so we'll see if they decide they need to offer more RBs or if they think they're in good position with the guys they've offered early. Seems like this kid could easily be picked up regardless of when they offer him, based on what he says in the article.

what a misleading post (...that "#1 RB" thing).

1) he didn't even make scout.com's top 100 list for '13 (Wyatt Shallman and Ty Isaac did).

2) his best offer thus far comes from mississippi state.

RB Kamani Thomas is pretty good (2013 ESPN 150 Watchlist), from limited film he looks like a 4-star type. I dunno about Trent Richardson though... Always nice to have a lifelong fan express interest in going to Michigan. Good news, thanks for the link.

Trying to be elusive more than fast, but not shying away from contact, also fast enough to get to the outside edge and turn the corner. The video makes him look a bit slower than I'm sure he really is, I wonder what his fake 40 time is...

Either way, this is good news. Even if he's one of the top running backs in Georgia, he's probably really good. We'll see what kind of room we have for running backs or if he ends up being Michigan caliber, but it can't hurt he likes us.

He seems to be a pretty good back although a lot of those teams he played against in this highlight video can't tackle for shit.  He does appear to possess some very good talents at his position.  Seeing some of those Wing T formations brings me back to the HS days when we ran that offense my freshmen year.

Somebody can correct me if this is wrong, but as I recall, it is only permissible to omit the "s" and go with merely the apostrophe when forming the possessive of proper names or when using words or phrases that, for whatever reason, wouldn't take the "s" anyway. Everywhere else, "'-'s" is correct.
