Juwan has some work to do, because these guys can actually score on Texas Tech. Michigan wins its double-elimination bracket in a blowout, and advances to the College World Series Championship, a best of three series against Vanderbilt (if they win one) or Louisville (if they win the next two).

And you can't have one without the other!

one-two-three-four-five-six-seven-eight-nine-ten-eleven-twelve-thirteen-fourteen-fifteen we want mooooooore runs! MEAT MEAT MEAT MEAT It's all your fault! It's all your fault! It's all your fault! It's all your fault!

This is unbelievable. What an incredible run.

Really, making the tournament was a great feat. Managing to win the regional? Made the season. Beating UCLA on the road? Astonishing, way more than we could hope to expect.

The final series? This isn't real.

I didn't start watching the team until they got to Corvallis, so I didn't know anything about how razor-edge lucky they were to get in the field, or the struggles they had before that. I heard they were one of the last teams in and I expected them to sort of play like they had nothing to lose - whatever that would look like - but they looked good! Then they looked good beating UCLA.  Against Florida State we made the Seminoles look like one of the last teams in. Texas Tech wailed on us during the regular season I heard, but we beat them pretty good. Right now we are awaiting the winner of Louisville Vanderbilt and it is hard for me to believe either one of those teams will be favored by much if at all in the CWS. I know I'm a homer but I can't believe we don't have a REAL GOOD CHANCE at winning it. I admit it, I haven't watched this much Michigan baseball since ever but if Coach Bakich is starting to build a perennial contender, it won't be the last time, it's been fun!

HEY!  Hey. Let's not talk crazy here. Where would we go for rampant vitriol and gnashing of teeth that we can lay at the feet of Dave and Warde?

Now let's all pull it together... surely, SOMEONE is underperforming--not any of us of course--we are pretty much super awesome, except for a couple...you know who you are.

Pretty sure a couple folks have pissed and moaned about men's lacrosse, there's always some assistants that we can cut loose, maybe even a GA or two.  Now let's get to FIRIN'!

I was hoping we'd win by the same margin in baseball (EDIT: as they had in basketball), because that would be way worse.

Let's go Louisville.  Beating them in the finals would exorcise another basketball demon.

Vandy is likable despite their ESS EEE SEE affiliation.

An amazing run, and basically other than one inning they haven't trailed this entire CWS.

What the hell, might as well just win it all.

Man, this is beyond Muppets.  Since 1962 Michigan has never been the NCAA champ.  Jimmy Kerr’s gramps was actually on that team.  Karma.  Go Blue!!!

I watched just about this entire game and to say the starting pitcher (Kaufman) battled is a massive understatement. He had the leadoff batter on in almost every inning, and had bases loaded in the inning they score 3 and had a groundout and a strikeout to limit the damage.

At that point, the game was 3-2 for TTU and bases loaded with one out could've been a DISASTER. Instead, he gets out of the inning an TTU DOESN'T SCORE ANOTHER RUN ALL GAME.

Baseball folks will know just how incredible that turnaround is, in that situation.

I'm old enough to remember watching the Barry Larkin/Chris Sabo team that last went to the CWS. At the time, you felt like "northern baseball" wasn't really a thing, and the program was headed towards national prominence.

I sure hope they lock Bakich in for the long haul. I love the way he recruits and even if some of his diamonds in the rough don't pan out, the message that MI baseball will recruit outside of the normal circuits is pretty on brand for the university.

Go Blue, indeed.

To be fair, he got pretty unlucky as well to give up two hits on balls that were not well hit at all, and then the inning was extended and a run scored on the error where Kaufman hesitated on the throw. Michigan was lucky to escape without further damage, but TT was also lucky to be in that position in the first place.
