One Frame At A Time: Arkansas
Since there are only three of these today I'm not going to bother with the screencap/lightbox thing—if you need to stop the animation for the sake of bandwith, hit 'escape'.
Pretty nice play by the team's second-best freshman/"weak spot".
/removes pants
[Hit the jump for Burke's throwdown, panda.]
Not shown: really, really lame technical foul call.
He will literally rip your face off.

Come on, that was a textbook technical. The rim is not a chin-up bar.
Having said that, definitely awesome.

Without holding onto the rim at the speed he was going he would have ended up with the band members 3 rows up.

The band is on the other side.

Yeah, I know it's a technical by the letter of the law. I just hate the law, in this case.

Two thoughts:
1. Ace, why are you removing your pants when discussing 18-year-old freshman? Gross.
2. I was watching that game with my 4-year-old son and he cracked up every time he saw that panda. That costume in the middle of the maize was epic! I hope that person is an MGoUser because I will reward him/her all the MGoPoints.

I was at the game and it was my first time in Crisler since it had been updated. The first thing I noticed when I got to my seat was the panda, way more impressive than any of the new shiny bits. Although the intro was really cool, I've never been that excited to be at a Michigan basketball game.

Does anybody have the clip/gif of the panda staring at Beilein and the camera later in the game?

Thank you kind sir.

How do I award points to Let's Go Blue?

Panda gif is a huge win.

Somebody is wearing the #1? And he's not a wide receiver? And he's not even on the football team??? Blasphemy!

completely missed GR getting whacked in the head as he went in the for the dunk-- at first glance, I thought it was just a graze, but you can really see his head snap back. Ouch.

Does anyone else find it odd that Burke is right handed but jumped off his right foot for that sweet two handed jam? I know when I dunk in my dreams, I always leap off my left foot. Does ambidexterity apply to feet also? Just one more of Trey's many talents.
I am having increasing difficulty controlling my excitement for this Big Ten basketball season. It will indeed be a Happy New Year for Wolverine fans!!

I noticed the same thing as you (Trey dunking off right foot) and was impressed. In younger years when I could capably dunk, I was definitely better launching off my left foot and dunking right or two-handed. I seriously had to train myself to launch off my right foot for a left handed dunk. I think Trey may be slightly more athletically gifted than I ever was.

I'm the opposite. I am right handed and used to dunk off my right foot with my left hand. Who knew so many message board folk were dexterous enough to throw down...
December 10th, 2012 at 1:47 PM ^
Although, he's dribbling with his left hand. Don't you usually launch from the opposite foot of your dribble hand?
December 10th, 2012 at 2:45 PM ^
You're supposed to jump with the foot that is opposite of the hand you are using to shoot the layup/dunk. So for a right-handed layup or dunk, you'd jump off your left foot, and vice versa for a left-handed layup/dunk.
If you are dunking with two hands, you typically would either jump with two feet, or with the foot you are more used to dunking/laying-up with - i.e. left foot for righties, right foot for lefties.
