Exit: Daxton Hill to NFL Comment Count

Seth January 6th, 2022 at 6:08 PM

There was only some drama because he waited so long, but Dax is off to the NFL.

We’ve got one more UFR to see if trying to edge Dax Hill worked out for anybody. It usually did not, and probably won’t in the NFL either. But I think we all agree the five-star worked out pretty well for Michigan. Good luck in the pros Dax. Michigan has a few more decisions to sweat out, including the head coach’s.

Sure does reinforce the whole importance of recruiting doesn't it?

I mean look at the huge impact this 5 star had on our team.  Consider the hole he's leaving behind.  If we recruited like AL, GA or the Nuts, we would shrug our shoulders, wish him the best and begin a debate about who would win the competition between the other 5 and 4 star athletes on our roster for his open spot.

The Nuts receiver room was ridiculous this year.  The talent they had that couldn't even get on the field.

Going to be interesting to see if Michigan can get to the next level in terms of talent.

As I already posted in response to another meaningless comment of yours just 10 minutes ago:

"Since all you are doing is posting meaningless responses in old threads to pick up cheap points, your account is suspended for 48 hours. Once the suspension is lifted, if this resumes, further suspension(s) or banning may result.

If this was a new account I was dealing with for the same thing, it would result in an immediate ban. It's happened on several occasions."

--------

I had earlier (at 4:10 pm Monday) posted a prior warning as a response to a similar post of yours:

"To 'Harbaugh4TheWin': please stop flooding old threads with your minimal-effort posts. Your point-grab is all too obvious."

Best of luck to Dax.

Not a surprise - the moment he signed, I assumed he would declare once he was eligible based on his talent.

He was a big recruiting win (albeit not without drama) and I am glad that he was able to go out on a high note. Regardless of the Georgia game, it was the 'Final Four', winning the B1G Championship, beating OSU and that crazy scene at the Big House are things he, and us as fans, will remember for a lifetime.

That last bit about the head coaching decision… yeah that’s not cryptic and unnerving.

But yeah - best of luck to Dax. Hell of a job and he’s earned everything he’s going to get in the NFL.

The million dollar offer to Caleb Williams and the alleged $20+ million Texas A&M used to land the #1 recruiting class this year brought home to me that the new college football is not much like the old one. (Or even last year’s) Easy transfers and public bidding for stars. Elite programs may not require players to take classes. (Or maybe no one will.) The young guys will now be money motivated pros with no actual ties to the schools.   It is probably going to be like the pros only with fewer rules. (Maybe not right away but it’s hard to see what will stop the changes.)

I am not at all sure I will enjoy following it anymore.

Harbaugh may figure he’d enjoy coaching the more mature NFL pros with the established rules he knows than a bunch of newly rich 18 and 19 year old pros who can transfer in and out at will. And in the general chaos of college football in the coming years.

Seth ominously mentioned this on the Roundtable podcast as well.  Throw us a bone, Seth - what are you hearing?

I think we've all been conditioned to dismiss Harbaugh the the NFL rumors, but when Seth is talking about this like it's a real possibility, it almost seems more likely to happen than not.

This year was Michigan football's most successful one under Coach Harbaugh. All logical and rational thought attributes this uptick to the new assistants who came on board. Jim deserves a significant measure of credit for this year but the lions share goes to these assistants-themselves. Should Coach decide to move on or retire-he, most certainly, has the right to do so...and otherwise, now would actually not be a bad time to do so. From the outside looking in, among the assistants, there are at least five excellent candidates  for becoming the HC. I believe the bases are well covered whether he decides to stay or go. This team is at a very good place.

Change is uncomfortable and stressful but time and change marches on-it's part of life.

Are your expectations for the defense higher now than they were a year ago? I got to be honest this January seems more optimistic. Still that is a lot of talent, and a lot of talent with a year left on the books. If there are no coaching shenanigans we will be fine.

no need to sweat out harbaugh's decision. he ain't leaving.  period, end of story, not leaving.  speculating about it is helping other schools negatively recruit against our school, and it is totally unfounded.  stop it.

Anyone remember way back to before Dec 31st, the buzz around the program and bpone was dead and buried? It seems ever since Georgia it’s been players in the portal, players to the NFL, Nua leaving and rumors on Harbaugh to NFL. I’m not being “the sky’s falling or our pets heads are falling off” here at all. This is all kind of a sarcastic type of post but damn man, lol. Other than All coming back give me some more damn positive news, ?

I bet Seth already has an “Exit” post for Harbaugh.

We will find out if the program actually wants to live up to the James Earl Jones hype video and actually pursue national championships. Or not.
