We're comin' for you, magma.

He's done for the year, so Michigan will announce it.

Stay classy, Drew.

I don't know, maybe I'm not reading that correctly. But I'm also at the point where you just have to shake your head and laugh. And never ever ever say it can't get any worse.

To stay classy, Drew needs to figure out what classy is in the first place.

And for the super literal Internet types: I feel terrible for Mr. Green. Tragic.
No need to lash out. I am on your side

in the conservatory with the candlestick?

I'm going to make the head-in-the-sand and hopeful assumption that the "hahaha" was int he vein of "of course this would happen to the team now" as opposed to "haha - he's hurt". In any case, this sucks.

I guess we'll see what Smith can do as the feature back.
October 6th, 2014 at 12:47 PM ^
Did Smith get hurt as well?
October 6th, 2014 at 12:52 PM ^
Also wondering this. He limped off the field.
October 6th, 2014 at 12:58 PM ^
Yes he was limping off the field during the Rutgers game. Came out in the 4th I think.
Justice Hayes, time to shine.

Smith could potentially really grind down a front D-line if our O-line can do SOMETHING.

Jim Schwartz also got carried off at Ford Field this weekend.
Sports hurt ...
October 6th, 2014 at 12:51 PM ^
Here's hoping for a speedy recovery for Derrick and that Drake Johnson can step up and fill the hole in the roster.

traversed quickly through Sylvia Plath, late period Cormac McCarthy and the bad bits of Shakespeare and have plopped down right in the middle of the Book of Job.
This is some Old Testament shit right here.

I posted something after the ND game that someone on Michigan really pissed off the football deity, so the ND game was our penance. Whoa - was I WRONG! Somebody really fucked up to get the shit were being thrown now.
I could be wrong ... but I think it's Dave Brandon that has the curse!
Go Blue!
ps - DG - feeling for ya. You were the most improved back on the team this season!
October 6th, 2014 at 2:13 PM ^
David Brandon doesn't HAVE the curse; David Brandon IS the curse.
October 6th, 2014 at 6:48 PM ^
Forget superstition. He did a good job of improving facilities, but the guy is a CEO and we need a real Athletic Director. Too bad Beilein isn't an option (nor would I want him to be). But he'd be one hell of an AD.

Healing time varies based on age, health, complexity and location of the break as well as the bone displacement. For adults, a minimum of 2–6 weeks of sling immobilization is normally employed to allow initial bone and soft tissue healing.
During this period, patients may remove the sling to practice passive pendulum Range of Motion (ROM) exercises to reduce atrophy in the elbow and shoulder, but they are minimized to 15-20 degrees off vertical. Depending on the severity of fracture, a person can begin to use the arm if comfortable with movement and no pain results. The final goal is to be able to have full range of motion with no pain; therefore, if any pain exists, it is best to allow for more recovery time.
Depending on severity of the fracture, athletes involved in contact sports may need a longer period of rest to heal to avoid re-fracturing bone. A person should be able to return unrestricted to any sports or work by 3 months after the injury.

You're saying he may be ready to play in the Rose Bowl this year?
October 6th, 2014 at 3:58 PM ^
Of course not...the the 2014 Rose Bowl is done and gone. January 2015? If we run the table and...
October 6th, 2014 at 3:27 PM ^
Things can always get worse. I hope he recovers quickly and doesn't lose his conditioning.
October 6th, 2014 at 12:57 PM ^
He was looking pretty good against a decent front 7. I would take Justice Hays over Smith to fill his spot, simply because he has more of a burst. Of course, would it be too much to ask the coaches to consider a more spread out attack given that our top man-baller just went down? Or perhaps they intend to line up Norfleet at tailback and just keep pounding away!
This is terrible news. And it is terrible that we cannot trust the coaching staff to do anything smart to mitigate the damage.
October 6th, 2014 at 12:57 PM ^
Wishing Mr. Green a speedy recovery.
Smith seems just as good to me, and may improve with more carries. I also think Hayes should get more shots than just 3rd down. Maybe it's just his quickness, but he seems more decisive.
October 6th, 2014 at 12:58 PM ^
It also hurts our running backs.
October 6th, 2014 at 12:58 PM ^
teams usually end up with lots of injuries.
October 6th, 2014 at 12:58 PM ^
Sucks feel bad for Green but on the upside we get to see what Johnson and Hayes can do.
October 6th, 2014 at 1:02 PM ^
Will the NCAA grant us fans a hardship waiver and let Ty Isaac play this season? Please?
October 6th, 2014 at 1:03 PM ^
Just when I thought he was turning it up a lttle. So I guess get ready for a possible air it out battle with Hackenberg if we can't run it. If Deveon is healthy place him in the protective bubble now please.
October 6th, 2014 at 1:03 PM ^
Tough for Green, but from a win/loss perspective it's hard to see this making any difference.
October 6th, 2014 at 1:05 PM ^
I think Smith and Hayes will be good. Norfleet can run the ball as well. Just hope Smith is okay.
October 6th, 2014 at 1:10 PM ^
This is where you should really pray to Tiny Jesus for Peppers to get healthy. If he can pick up the offensive playbook (or enough of it), he could be a very good option back there.
October 6th, 2014 at 1:25 PM ^
But, these facts tell me no.
- Leg injury since the first half of the first game.
- Has not practiced (to my knowledge) on offense yet.
- Hoke is as stubborn as a summer day in Alaska is long.
