November 20th, 2012 at 12:07 PM ^
did we kick them out of the conference?
November 20th, 2012 at 12:09 PM ^
so I'm guessing it's a nod to the "Purdue does not exist" meme.
November 20th, 2012 at 12:12 PM ^
More like Purdon't exist. AMIRITE?
November 20th, 2012 at 1:08 PM ^
...other CFB blog memes now? Seems a bit crass and derivative.
November 20th, 2012 at 12:12 PM ^
Can't we just make them honorary members of the Coastal?
Nobody wants to go to West Lafayette and they're essentially already ineligible for the championship game.
November 20th, 2012 at 8:03 PM ^
November 20th, 2012 at 12:22 PM ^
I saw there were only 11, but it legitimately took me seeing this to figure out who the 12th was...
November 20th, 2012 at 12:09 PM ^
That is just mean ;-)
November 20th, 2012 at 12:09 PM ^
that's why

on how to cope with being 7-1 division champs without the ability to play for championships.
November 20th, 2012 at 12:13 PM ^
but IT'S OHIO WEEK BRIAN.
Maybe a little HATE to go with all the B1G talk?
November 20th, 2012 at 12:14 PM ^
Brian what's realistically the best we can hope for though?
November 20th, 2012 at 12:14 PM ^
What is a Purdue?
November 20th, 2012 at 12:15 PM ^
"There, there."
November 20th, 2012 at 12:16 PM ^
Danny Hope's mustache isn't happy Brian.
November 20th, 2012 at 12:20 PM ^
hahahahahahahahahahhahahaha
November 20th, 2012 at 12:22 PM ^
If only it were true. Until then, Death to Delany
November 20th, 2012 at 12:22 PM ^
How are we going to accomodate our SEC schedule if we have to play these crappy B10 teams every year?
Frankly, I don't see it.
November 20th, 2012 at 12:22 PM ^
With the Thanksgiving Season:
Grownups Table
Michigan
Ohio
Michigan State
Wisconsin
Nebraska
Kids Table
Illinois
Indiana
Northwestern
Maryland
Purdue
Crazy Uncles with TV Trays
Rutgers
Penn State
November 20th, 2012 at 12:33 PM ^
Good idea, but little brother always sits at the kids table.
November 20th, 2012 at 12:35 PM ^
Iowa says :(
November 20th, 2012 at 12:42 PM ^
As does Minnesota.
November 20th, 2012 at 12:46 PM ^
Is this how we get the conference back down to manageable numbers? Eliminate Iowa, Purdue and Minnesota?
November 20th, 2012 at 1:06 PM ^
Why not? They can form a joint team - a co-op - and play at Purdue so no one has to travel far.
License to kill gophers by the government of the United Nations. Man, free to kill gophers at will.
November 20th, 2012 at 12:54 PM ^
So I take it that Minnesota is moving their team to West Lafayette?
November 20th, 2012 at 12:24 PM ^
November 20th, 2012 at 12:26 PM ^
Does anyone else feel like there are just too many FBS teams now adays?
I think cutting down from 120-124 to ~50 would help a lot. D1 football is really the only kind people pay attention to so we would be abel to sustain 5-6 conferences at 8-10 teams each while still dividing up the tv market shenanigins.
Then disalowing d1-d2 games and you will increase your product all around because all of the worth while football teams will play eachother more often. Go from having potentially 3 interesting games per year like we have today to having every game being against a quality opponent.
November 20th, 2012 at 12:31 PM ^
Lost in all this is the fact that the number of "red"-based schools has increased from 33% to over 40%, and I for one think that's an absolute travesty.
November 20th, 2012 at 12:34 PM ^
Good
Michigan
Michigan State
Ohio State
Nebraska
Wisconsin
Penn State
Northwestern
Bad
Iowa
Minnesota
Illinois
Indiana
Maryland
Rutgers
This makes the B1G Championship game a formality, and opens the door for promotion/relegation.
November 20th, 2012 at 3:16 PM ^
Best rating they've received in a year.
November 20th, 2012 at 12:40 PM ^
Now that we have acquired Rutgers and Maryland, can we bundle them together to another conference for a better team?
…This post seemed brilliant when I first started writing it, but I can't think of a single team worth the equivalent of Rutgers and Maryland that I would want in the conference.

November 20th, 2012 at 12:48 PM ^
The Big 2
Michigan
Ohio
The Little Errybody Else
Errybody Else
This means M and Ohio will play 8 times during the regular season, and if they are both 4-4, the B1GCG will be between M and Ohio by default. Otherwise, the winner of The Series will go on to waste whoever comes out of the other division.
Think of how full the stadiums would be! MONEY.
November 20th, 2012 at 12:51 PM ^
What the hell is this "East" and "West" stuff anyways? How are we as fans suppose to know where our teams should be located with that nonsense.
November 20th, 2012 at 1:40 PM ^
For example - the Red Wings are in Michigan, which is well east of west, therefore they are in the West. Got it? I will admit that Michigan, being Champions of the West, adds a bit of confusion, but there you are.
November 20th, 2012 at 1:01 PM ^
We're back at denial.
November 20th, 2012 at 1:04 PM ^

You forgot PU in our conference. That's what I thought the divisions should have been since we got Nebraksa.
Rutgers isn't even a basketball school... what the fuck
November 20th, 2012 at 1:05 PM ^
I dont think I've ever seen Brian meltdown quite this bad before. If the front page were the board, the Mods would have revoked his posting rights by now. Yeesh.

it must be hard realizing that the thing you've devoted your career to (college football) is seemingly intent on destroying itself.
November 20th, 2012 at 1:42 PM ^
People need to stop being so dramatic. The Big10 did something very stupid, sure, but the entirety of college football is not in any danger of "destroying itself." College football, including Michigan football, isn't going anywhere.
In the words of Douglas Adams:

I'd prefer something like 24. Make it two "Big Tens" -- one comprised of actual Big Ten schools; the other the larger pod of barely confederated teams bundled for TV purposes under the Big Ten Network umbrella.
That idea's better than the current one and there's no inherent reason a "Big Ten Network" team has to play other Big Ten teams.
November 20th, 2012 at 1:20 PM ^
the East vs West half the Big Ten(12) and the other half the ACC!!
