If RR leaves, what happens to this blog?
December 3rd, 2010 at 7:25 PM ^
Well, first, all of the Mods will get replaced with the new regime. Brian will be hired somewhere, but probably not an as elite site... maybe HornedFrog.com or ECPirates.com. If he is lucky he'll be hired by MizzoBlack.com or TA&MAggie.com, but rumor has it they have their eye on someone more "Texas like", you know, a real Texan and not a transplant.
Some of us members will transfer to other sites, but, most will stay. It will take a while for some of us to learn whether there is a place on the depth chart. Either way, expect a few people to end up typing OPs for CUBuffs.com and a few MAC sites.

know a comment like that was possible. I could be wrong, but you might have just ripped a hole in the space time continuum.

The Capitalist Harbaugh will advance the cause of Marxist-Leninist football without being aware of it.
December 4th, 2010 at 8:23 AM ^
What is the most important lesson life has taught you?
That life is a stupid, meaningless thing that has nothing to teach you.
Tell us a secret.
Communism will win.

Dude, that guy taught as a visiting professor at Michigan.
Also, what if it did?!
December 3rd, 2010 at 7:42 PM ^
I own this little domain named MGoHarbaugh and am currently in negotiations with Brian to sell him the rights. Don't tell anybody, becuase David Bradon told me not to say anything.

Would you happen to be a waiter at some unknown location serving unknown VVIPs?
December 3rd, 2010 at 7:43 PM ^
Everything will be ok
December 3rd, 2010 at 7:46 PM ^
A lot of people will simply support whomever the coach is. The one noticeable change will be a huge decrease in criticism of Harbaugh.
December 3rd, 2010 at 8:47 PM ^
I think I have a hard time believeing that. A lot of people are diehard Rodriguez supporters, and a lot of people aren't happy with how Harbaugh has conducted himself in the past.
December 4th, 2010 at 12:47 AM ^
Harbaugh would be subject to the standard coaching criticism (like over playcalling and such), but it's a safe bet that if he's hired, the personal attacks on him will disappear.
December 3rd, 2010 at 11:05 PM ^
You use "sophisticated" style but, in the end, still spread the same polarizing message. Its disappointing, actually. But I'm sure you don't care what I think.
December 4th, 2010 at 2:41 AM ^
I think he was saying that Rich Rod-supporters are better than RR-bashers who favor Harbaugh-Like-Yesterday. ...
Oh, wait, that is polarizing.
December 4th, 2010 at 6:34 AM ^
Sure, until the first disappointing loss to a hated rival. Then, as everywhere else, fans will start venting, and plenty will blame JH's playcalling, or sideline demeanor, or his DC, or any of the other one million things that fans blame when their favorite team loses. Human nature being what it is, the most fervent and disappointed supporters of RR will be particularly quick to criticize, which will be unfortunate and irritating but should be expected.
Should Harbaugh come in, he will have a honeymoon that RR never had, though, in large measure because he will represent a direct line back to Schembechler. Most importantly, he will also not go 3-9 in his first season and will field a half-decent defense.
December 3rd, 2010 at 7:51 PM ^
I assume that if RR does leave the blog will support the next coach. And when the next coach doesn't win the National Championship next year and people begin demanding that he gets fired, it will continue to be a sane place on the internet to discuss Michigan Football.
December 3rd, 2010 at 8:21 PM ^
Support the next coach. But I WILL NOT support DB if he fires RR. RichRod signed on for 6 years, not 3. He deserves every one of them. He's our coach and I will always support him no matter where he ends up. I've never felt this excited about a Michigan offense, and he has def built it up to where it's at and he's not done yet. All in for RichRod!!
December 4th, 2010 at 12:39 AM ^
So how will you not support DB? Boycott games? Send him indignant emails?
December 4th, 2010 at 8:27 AM ^
Probably by calling him names on the internet. Maybe throw together a few funny pictures of him on MS Paint. That sort of thing.

1. Brian will probably still keep writing it. (I hope)
2. Unprecedented and ridiculous meltdown on the boards. I will probably peace out for a week or so if a change is made. Shit will hit the fan, it will be total chaos and completely ridiculous.
As for me personally, I want RR to stay.
But if he gets booted, I'll support Harbaugh and the team (and pray to dear lord baby Jesus that he gets a spread offense guy to be O-coordinator. I seriously do not want to go back to boring pro-style I-form stuff), and I'll also adopt wherever RR ends up as my second favorite college football team and probably start cheering for/following them in addition to Michigan. (If he came to Duke I'd shit my pants with excitement.)
I'm a Michigan fan first, but, through all of this have also become a huge Rich Rodriguez fan.
December 3rd, 2010 at 8:16 PM ^
Well-said. +1.
December 3rd, 2010 at 8:41 PM ^
Mike DeBord was terrible; plenty of teams run ace/i-sets and are entertaining (see: Alabama), and Shotgun and Pistol are seeing plenty of use even among "pro"-style offenses
December 4th, 2010 at 2:54 AM ^
I have never had a second team (in college sports that is) but if RR is fired, I will quickly become a fan, or at least follower of whichever team he ultimately coaches.

more muppets, less otters. thats what

What about a compromise, Muppet Otters?
Remember, his father was a snake oil salesman. You can look it up.
December 3rd, 2010 at 8:09 PM ^
We are actually discussing Michigan football on this blog? I thought everything was a metaphor and that words were code for other words......for example the word "football" actually means "boobs." and "blog" also means "boobs".....etc. I am not sure what the word "boobs is actually code for.
December 3rd, 2010 at 8:11 PM ^
Life goes on. Don't get sucked into the faux-drama and speculation - there's NOTHING we can affect. Let it play out, stay rational.
You're a Michigan fan now, you'll be a Michigan fan in 30 days, whether RR's here or not.
Some of you people amaze me. There's a concept called perspective. I urge you to keep it.

Mgoblog will go on with the following topics:
- Re-emergence of Tacopants
- The amount of BGS majors, under RR vs Jimbo
- Who will run the Defense?
- Alleged arrogance of head coach
- Alleged drunk behavior of a VIP reported by "anonymous waiter"
- Recruiting (too many small guys, too many slow guys, not enough in-state guys, too many in-state guys)
- Need to diversify offense
- Private Bathrooms
- Special Team woes
Another words, nothing will change, with the possible exception of everyone's screen names.
December 3rd, 2010 at 11:36 PM ^
And maybe less analysis of how costly turnovers have been for our offense. At least I hope so, but who the hell knows.
