TomVH: Demetrius Hart Update

Submitted by TomVH on

Chad Simmons from Scout tweeted that Demetrius will be making his decision next week, and I confirmed that with Demetrius tonight. I'll update when I have more. He is still going to Alabama this weekend.

that the fact that we're getting this from TomVH and not a link to a mod on another school's message board as a small reason for optimism.

edit: **pending some research on this Chad Simmons fellow.

Do you guys think that if Dee comes to Michigan and enrolls early, he will start?

I do.  I saw the 7 v 7 tourney on ESPN and he looked so comfortable catching passes and using his body to shield the ball from CBs.

Come on Dee!  You and Denard in the backfield would be disgusting.

I think with all the hard work the upperclassmen have put in, he will work his way up the ladder gradually.  Unless our current stable implodes before the end of the season, I don't see a freshman ascending to the top of the charts without any game action.  It just feels like there could be bruised egos if that happens.

I think RR has proven that his mantra of "the best players will play" is not just lip service at this point. IF Dee commits to UM and IF he demonstrates to the coaches that he is the best option at RB he WILL play.

A lot of people were absolutely certain that Tate would be the starter at the beginning of this season because he was the more experienced QB, but RR (wisely, I might add) went against that "logic" and put in the guy who gives UM the best chance to win. He will do the same for every position on the field.

Tom said early last week that he wasn't worried about Auburn being in the mix. And Dee already knows where he wants to go BEFORE his trip to Bama'.  Looking BLUE!!!

I agree with Robert.  Since Dee has indicated that he will be announcing shorty after his trip to 'Bama (unless the visit causes him to move the announcement date back), I'm thinking he is all Blue!!

Is Ha'Sean going along with Dee for the visit to Tuscaloosa?  I think I'd take every official that I possibly could in that position.  Why not?

Dee to Ha'Sean:  "Hey you should really come with me when I take my official to Ann Arbor.  That way, when I'm playing for Michigan and you're playing for 'Bama, you'll understand what I'm talking about."

Ha'Sean to Dee:  "Sure, that sounds good.  But you should do the same.  Sometime before you commit to Michigan, you should come with me to 'Bama.  I can do another unofficial there..."

3rd time this blog has made me literally LOL today. I don't know what i'd do on Mondays without it.

Come on Dee, you know where you belong.

Just go where it feels best to you, where the coaches seem the most genuine, and where you know how you'll be used in a thrilling offense with a breathtaking backfield mate immediately when you come in and work hard to earn that position.

Hey, if you've got some free time on your hands, google "saban oversigning and medical scholarships" or maybe check out "denard heisman explosive dilithium" if you have a moment.

See ya in January.

If I'm not mistaken, it was originally his mom that wanted him to wait to commit to Michigan because she had been inundated with "Rich Rod is the most evil man on the planet" banter.

She has since changed her tune, at least from what I've heard.  Let's hope that's true.

Dee may have made his decision a few months ago?  I'm hoping he's just visiting with friends at Auburn and Alabama and decided not to make an official trip for the MSU game, since he already decided he would committed to UM before the MSU game. At least I'm hoping this is the case!!!!

that he makes his decision right after the AL visit. He has tended, like plenty of kids, to be impressed with most places he visited. It's all conjecture at this point and--more--the FATES have shown him his path. Let's hope it leads down the Blue and Maize brick road to RichRod.

that also comes with the educational opportunities that the University of Michigan provides. That would seem to make Hart's decision a no-brainer, but there's no accounting for the decision-making process of 18-yr olds.

The fact that he's deciding next week tells me that he's already made up his mind. It isn't one of those Lebron "I decided this morning" kind of things. He doesn't like to let peopIe down, which is probably why he's deciding right after his visit to Bama, so that they get a fair chance. I think he'll be blue.
