Glad I got a #5 jersey a couple weeks ago. FML.
September 8th, 2010 at 10:42 AM ^
Wait a second...he's 3rd string. Charles Stewart?
September 8th, 2010 at 11:28 AM ^
James Whitley?
September 8th, 2010 at 11:56 AM ^
We just got a new foreign-exchange student who is a walk-on. He is the new backup safety. His name is Barwis McBarwison.
JK.
But seriously, how soon until Moundros starts playing strong safety. Just kidding. But seriously that kid can move.
September 8th, 2010 at 10:17 AM ^
That's not good.

September 8th, 2010 at 10:19 AM ^
he's supposed to make a statement later today.
Didn't sound like anything "scandalous". Assume he's looking for a better opportunity to play.

Assume he's looking for a better opportunity to play.
At the risk of pointing out the obvious, where else is he going to have a better opportunity to play safety?
September 8th, 2010 at 10:37 AM ^
I-AA perhaps? That's where I expect him to end up.
September 8th, 2010 at 10:38 AM ^
I was trying to be nice
September 8th, 2010 at 10:40 AM ^
Yeah, I was too. I suspect his high school injury was a lot more serious than many believed. At the time, I wondered why OSU stopped talking to him after that; it seemed like a Saban type move. Now, I'm beginning to think that they thought he'd never even play competitive football again as opposed to thinking that he'd simply not play quite as well as before.
September 8th, 2010 at 10:38 AM ^
You're preaching to the choir.
September 8th, 2010 at 10:18 AM ^
What's with these kids???? If at first you don't succeed, don't bother trying harder and just go somewhere else to start over?
September 8th, 2010 at 10:33 AM ^
it's all about "instant gratification" with teens today. Work hard and wait for your opportunity is a concept that is lost or fading quickly.

"The Impaler" t-shirts are going on sale. ;-)
Actually, considering how my Tate shirt is looking now...maybe we should avoid player shirts for the near future....ugh...

Guess he didn't get the memo...
@ Six Zero can't wait to see the lego 'beat ND' logo for this week!
September 8th, 2010 at 10:18 AM ^
is a fucking joke right, there is nothing on Rivals
September 8th, 2010 at 10:40 AM ^
That's because the mods at Rivals will delete ANYTHING that ever mentions ANYTHING they haven't stated themselves. It's pathetic.
September 8th, 2010 at 11:30 AM ^
They delete ANYTHING that links to Scout, MGoBlog, and WTKA.
It definitely gets frustrating sometimes, but I understand it to a certain point. They're all competitors. Why promote your competition? Would Coke tell you: "Hey, you can get a pretty good drink from those Pepsi guys."

September 8th, 2010 at 10:18 AM ^
I forsee a sale at underground printing and mgostore coming up...
Man, I am glad I didn't get the authentic #5 jersey I was planning on buying after last season.
September 8th, 2010 at 11:41 AM ^
Thats why you should make a safe choice and buy the #1 jersey. You're guaranteed a great player from the past or present.
Its like buying a yellow helmet for your favorite player in the Swedish Elite league.
September 8th, 2010 at 10:19 AM ^
Too bad, but it looked like Vlad's injury had cost him dearly and he was never going to play meaningful snaps.
September 8th, 2010 at 10:20 AM ^
Didn't he get some action on D against UConn? I'm almost positive I saw him out there at one point.
September 8th, 2010 at 10:20 AM ^
Vlad was granted his release. This never F**king ends with us does it?
September 8th, 2010 at 10:21 AM ^
The good news is he loves Rodriguez and the Michigan program.
September 8th, 2010 at 10:21 AM ^
Wow. He was truly one of my favorite players on the team. Really smart and well spoken kid. I was really pulling for him. I hope it isn't true, but if it is I wish him well. I hope his knee troubles didn't factor into this. Here's hoping he gets healthy and can live a happy pain free life. There goes my second favorite player on the team (1st was J. Turner...)

September 8th, 2010 at 10:24 AM ^
I can vouch for the original poster. No link yet (except for behind a paywall), but Bill Greene from Scout is reporting it. I believe Bill knows Vlad from back when he was being recruited (and he's very reputable).
September 8th, 2010 at 10:27 AM ^
Sorry,
8 other people linked at the same time
September 8th, 2010 at 10:22 AM ^
that the depth chart listing at FS of Cam Gordon, Jared Van Slyke and Vlad Emilien needs a bit of updating? Seriously, the dude just moved up to #2 on the depth chart due to injury and now wants to transfer?
September 8th, 2010 at 10:26 AM ^
Van Slyke is done for the year broken Collarbone............. Make it stop now
September 8th, 2010 at 10:26 AM ^
Am I wrong here? I thought M Rob was now in the mix with Cam.
September 8th, 2010 at 10:33 AM ^
at Bandit Safety behind Kovacs. Someone will have to move as there is no one behind Cam Grodon at FS.
September 8th, 2010 at 10:42 AM ^
September 8th, 2010 at 11:22 AM ^
I'm blaming Vlad for my first double post..
September 8th, 2010 at 11:31 AM ^
who moves into FS? Furman? Hawthorne? Simmons?
September 8th, 2010 at 11:55 AM ^
Forcier?
September 8th, 2010 at 5:35 PM ^
Teric Jones seeing as how he saw zero snaps as a RB.
September 8th, 2010 at 10:22 AM ^
Given the depth and talent in the secondary, this shouldn't be much of a problem.
(weeps softly at desk)
September 8th, 2010 at 10:23 AM ^
not the university. Maybe he's convinced that he's simply not going to recover completely. Maybe he's going to suspend his scholarship for a year and go full time into rehab. Maybe when he tries to play, he's in pain.
Those are just possibilities, of course. More likely he wants to play, sees that his injury is going to hold him back from seeing meaningful snaps, and has elected to move to a lower tier where he is still an athletic top dog.
So long as he doesn't have any harsh words on his way out, I wish him well.
September 8th, 2010 at 10:24 AM ^
And seeing as he recorded a PBU against UConn and is #2 on the depth chart, a surefire link is needed to validate this.
September 8th, 2010 at 10:25 AM ^
...how many kids transfer from other B10 schools? Is this normal? Atypical?
