man, who would have thought Juwan would have had such a long NBA career?
Fab 5 NBA games played:
Howard 1208 (most in Michigan history)
Rose 923
Webber 831
King 64
By the way, Jamal Crawford is 2nd all-time with 1182, and counting?

DNP does not count as a game played. He last played 7 games in the 2012-13 season with Miami.

He looks to be within 5-6 inches of Juwan, who I think is 6'10 at the minimum

I met Mattison once. I'm 6'2 and he seemed to have a few inches on me.

Im actually pretty sure Juwan is still the 12th man on someones NBA roster.

That would be interesting. My guess would be for 4 of them it may be excitement, but for the 5th one it may be a little more like....

Harbaugh love vs. Webber hate...sounds like we've got the next podcast lined up.
I think Harbaugh love would win, even with all of the people upset over Grant Perry...only a few folks actually blamed Harbaugh. A lot of people just said stuff like "I won't root for him (Perry)" or "I hope McDoom and Martin pass him on the depth chart!"
The majority of the folks upset (on here) couldn't even come around to blaming Harbaugh...so I'm going to say Harbaugh love prevails over Webber hate.
Beat OSU this year and Harbaugh can escort Chris and the Fab 5 to the first conference basketball game and Crisler and no one will say a thing.
Except Maizen, but that's expected.

As a non-Webber fan, I'll bite.
I'd point out that it takes the program he screwed being in the national championship game and the invite of Jim Harbaugh to actually show up to our games.
No beef with Harbaugh though. He's doing what he needs to to recruit.
Having the Obamas for a pregame captaincy would be HUGE for recruiting. That's why I couldn't believe the fools on twitter getting up in arms about it. I wasn't a fan of his politics and even I think that'd be an amazing coup for us to have our second former President of the US on the field before the game.
The first being our own-

I'm not a staunch Webber defender...but why would he show up outside of those instances if he wasn't or doesn't feel obligated or welcome?
I understand your point of "it shouldn't take all of that." But you can't arrive at that point when you consider that there was a time where he wasn't welcome around the program and there's a high probability that he still feels unwelcome to be around the program. So how can you fault him for lack of effort?
-----end of meaningful post-----
On a completely separate note, I'm a little curious as to the average age of non-Webber fans versus people who have let it go (even if they're not fans...they just don't hate the guy).
Personally, I find myself a non-Frank Clark fan...Chris Webber I'm just "meh" about. When it comes to Webber, if I can steal a phrase all over the news this week - "I think there is blame on both sides" (albeit, a lot more on Webber's side...but I don't think he should have to come home begging like a dog either - some need to swallow their pride). It'll take that on BOTH sides to come to any type of resolution.
Considering no one has died as part of the the Webber fiasco...I think it's okay placing blame on Webber and the University/Athletics Department/Fan base. I personally wish everyone would just move on and let whatever naturally happens, happen. Instead the most important players still have heels dug in for something that happened in the early 90's.

A statement from Warde Manuel and another from Chris Webber complimented by a picture of the two talking in Warde's office man-to-man.
Warde: Today I had the oppotunity to sit with Chris Webber and mend old wounds. We discussed Chris' time here at Michigan as a student-athlete and the subsequent years after. I remain proud of everything Chris accomplished here on the court at the University of Michigan.
During our conversation both sides acknowledged mistakes of the past and agreed to move forward in the best interests of the University of Michigan. While there are no ceremonies or presentations at this time, we look forward to what the future may hold. Chris is welcome here on campus at any time. I wish Chris luck as he continues his broadcasting career with TNT and I wish him the best as I do all of our current and former student-athletes.
Webber: After meeting with Mr. Warde Manuel today I can say for the first time in a long time I'm at peace with everything that transpired here in Ann Arbor. I'd like to apologize for mistakes I've made in the past that impacted this great university and it's basketball program. Warde and I agree both sides could have handled things differently.
Nonetheless, it is time to move forward and let bygones be bygones. I look forward to returning to Ann Arbor and attending a game at Crisler Center. I'd like to wish Coach Beilein and the boys all the best this upcoming season. GO BLUE!
I'm clearly not a professional writer...but just sit and have a conversation. Talk as men. Craft your statements. Shake hands and move the fuck on.
Who gives a shit at this point, there is nothing anyone can do or say to change the past. I'd love for everyone to let it go. There are so many more things in this world that are deeper than this and would require more than a handshake and a sorry. Usually it's not that easy.
Sorry for hi-jacking the thread. I'm usually not up this early.

Like the North will never forget, nor will Webber. Webber doesn't seem like someone who can forgive and forget. In the end, it is his loss. And remember, when Webber goes to a restaurant, the Maitre D'hotel yells out, "Bitterman, table for one!"

I was a freshman and my roommate was a sophomore from Inkster. He figured that I would want to know the basketball team was visiting the building. He figured right. I trotted down the stairs to the basement level. Juwan, Jalen, Jimmy, and Ray were hanging out near the bottom of the stairs. Jalen was sitting on a table facing me and at least one was on the stairs, so I walked right past him. I'm guessing they were in the building to see Vince Archer, the mayor's son, who I later learned lived in the fourth floor room directly below me. It was weird to see guys in person whom I'd seen on national TV.
Jalen had a class in Mason Hall so I would see him twice a week in the halls that semester.

That's right. Vince was at MoJo, and was one of Chris' teammates and classmates at DCD.
