That one game when everyone…

That one game when everyone in my row/section was the size of a lumberjack. Our row stood as one and sat as one, you had no choice. Spent 3.5 hours with a knee or two in my back and the back of a gentleman’s head about six inches from my nose.  Thankfully my other seating experiences at the Big House haven’t been quite that bad. While it’s nice having the largest home crowds, I think I’d prefer an extra 4 inches of seat!

I love coach Howard but what…

I love coach Howard but what I saw was Gard grabbing Howard’s forearm in an attempt to slow him down momentarily to likely explain the timeout and who knows, maybe even apologize. Howard wasn’t going to even listen, he acted childishly and deserves all the blame.

Glad he overcame, but still…

Glad he overcame, but still.....F Wisconsin.

So if media picks Michigan…

So if media picks Michigan to lose they are a hater???  Grow a pair.

The problem is Harbaugh will…

The problem is Harbaugh will think this will work against everyone, and it just won't against the top half of our schedule. We'll be down three scores by the start of the second quarter if we're not a threat to throw the ball.

Every time we try a little … Every time we try a little "speed in space", its gets stuffed. Third year of Gattis and this is what we get? Why can't this program develop the passing game anymore?
Chocolate milk covered…

Chocolate milk covered twisted blue steel. Can someone please insert the 150# kid from roughly10 years back doing fancy footwork drills that had our hopes up. Even better was his 120# teammate that followed him  I'm sorry, count me skeptical at this point. Hope I'm wrong.

Everyone facing accusations…

Everyone facing accusations has been dead well over a decade.  Why would today's players be questioned by reporters?

So your solution is.........?

So your solution is.........?

I hear you, I was totally…

I hear you DoubleB, I was totally against expansion, hated the thought of its impact on regular season games. Unfortunately, the playoff has cast a pall over the rest of the postseason. Now the best players are skipping the bowls and more and more teams are just going through the motions. More teams in the playoff = more meaningful games. That's how I now look at it. And yes, I realize the impact it has on big conference matchups in November. No perfect solution here.

I had been against the…

I had been against the expansion too, until it became apparent just how utterly meaningless the rest of postseason had become.

I'm thinking he went vampire on her and afterward plugged the holes?

A favorite Tiger for many…

A favorite Tiger for many back in the day. I believe he put up some better power numbers once he left, but his best overall years were in Detroit. (Maybe I'm wrong, fair-weather fan here and I mostly tune out when my fav team sucks)  Enjoy Grandy!

   Through "firm handshakes"…

Through "firm handshakes" and gaining commitments from top recruits through compensation, I believe Alabama, under Saban, started the current trend we see today. A handful of teams with resources have decided to join the arms race, and yes, part of that equation includes turning a blind-eye to the term student-athlete. If you buy yourself three or four top 50 recruits each year, it doesn't take a mathematician to figure the enormous advantage over an entire recruiting cycle. The top teams have elite athletes all over the field, and its no accident they are mostly ending up at a few select schools. Its frustrating for sure, but I'm okay with UofM not joining this race. Go Blue!

I've got no problem with the content, but c'mon man, your paragraph-long title is just copying the Bama thread from earlier this week..Its only funny the first time.

About ten years my mother-in-law gave me light-brown leather driving gloves and a matching pair of gold-tinted sun glassess. Maybe a 70's thing?  Anyway, its been passed around as a gag gift amongst my friends ever since.

Growing up my mom always said "Eat your spinach, study hard, ride a dick to the championship and you'll get to call the shots".

We better find a way to…

We better find a way to match PSU's first quarter adrenaline....otherwise we're down 3 scores in the second quarter and Harbaugh is pulling Patterson.  I like both McCaffrey and Milton, but asking for a positive outcome under those circumstances is slim to none.  Prove me wrong Blue!

Harbaugh's going to sink or…

.  Either Milton or McCaffrey needed to see significant minutes today. Harbaugh is going to sink or swim with Patterson, although I can see him being yanked next week once we're down three scores in the second quarter. Beaver Stadium in a frenzy is piss poor timing to bring in a young guy.

Pay it off and stay put. …

I'd pay it off and stay where you are.  Having options in life is a wonderful thing.

A portion of your beans may turn deep red a couple days after the procedure.  It'll

Stop playing your championship game on a freaking Monday night!  I realize 'NFL playoffs' and all so negotiate or whatever to get the final game on Saturday primetime.  People associate college football with Saturdays...period. As currently stands I come home from work on that Monday and the game later that night is an afterthought.

Right, 30 isolation plays a game is just so damn riveting.

Trevor Lawrence started the season as 3rd string.  It wasn't until he saw extended playing time that he played at a high level.

Good point, teams like Bama…

Good point, teams like Bama and Clemson would never be opened minded to a younger QB with more upside.

To quote Job's wife...

The Football Championship…

The Football Championship game must be played on a Friday night or a weekend.  The NCAA should realize that most fans hate a Monday night championship game.  In basketball its understandable with the FInal Four, but football?  C'mon!  And I know the NFL has their playoffs that time of year......they should save a spot for their free "feeder system" championship on a weekend in early January.

Gentry can't hold on to the…

Gentry can't hold on to the TD, we settle for a field goal and OSU takes it right down the field for 6.  Did anyone else feel we were doomed right there?

Why wouldn't PSU try to…

Why wouldn't PSU try to avoid being shut out?  What team in America wouldn't? Agree that it's a "sad" touchdown drive, but we would've done the same thing.

I'm wondering if our…

I'm wondering if our aggressive, sometimes reckless style of D has conditioned refs to just throw flags against any winged helmet they see.  That and the Harbaugh zero-tolerance rule the league established in year one.

.I've wondered the past…

.I've wondered the past couple years  if coach was on meds, just didn't feel comfortable saying it. The vibe in year one was so different than in years two and three.  They say a team takes on the personality of its couch....  But right now the only difference I see from last year is that at least our QB's won't just hand the game over.

.I've wondered the past…

He's talking about the self…

He's talking about the self destructive nature that Bourdain referred to numerous times on his show and in interviews.  Bourdain talked about turning to heroin in the 80's and how that has negatively shadowed his entire life. Is their a connection between that and depression?  I don't think anyone knows.  But we know about his self destructive nature and that suicide is the ultimate self-destructive act.

Sad news.  I watch his shows…

Sad news.  I watch his shows often and occasionally my 18 year old son joins me.  He has mentioned several times in the past "It's not going to end well for him, Dad".  Wish he could've gotten the help he needed.

Bourdain readily admitted…

Bourdain readily admitted countless times on his show that he didn't have it all together.

That if Shea Patterson

hadn't fallen into our laps, we'd be going into year 4 of Harbaugh with yet again big questions at quarterback. I only say this because I figured by now QB would be the least of our concerns.

I usually like

dark movies, but The Road was a little much for me too.  Maybe because my son at the time was  about the same age as the kid in the movie....

I say only the defense

gets the team trip to France this year.  in fact just scrap the whole damn thing....enlightening the players on topics besides football might be a bad idea.

The older I get the

less complicated my definition of success becomes. Have been following UofM football closely for over 40 years.  Win percentages, statistics and records mean far less to me today than they once did.  Now, its all about passing the eye test. Give me a Michigan team with very few flaws, a team thats tough in every way, fun to watch. Give me a team that my gut knows can go head to head with any team in the nation and I'll be happy to let the chips fall where they may.

Can't help but feel OSU

called off the "investigation" because they realized their "culprit" might turn out to be a big buckeye fan working for some Ohio town's newspaper.

Hard to believe that

Harbaugh didn't have at least some influence on Speights decision.  Peters gets the next month of practice getting starter reps and goes into spring the clear #1.  Just as important, Dylan M. gets #2 reps and any garbage time available.  Speight being here could've thrown question marks into all those things.  I appreciate all WIlton has done for the program, but its time to move on to the future.

Would love to reverse the trend...

but  playing PAC12 teams on the West coast has not been kind to the maize & blue.  Still have nightmares of the late 70's....3 straight Rose Bowl losses.  Charles White, Warren Moon.  As hope was dying late in the 4th quarter each time, my mom would yell  "Get to bed!  Christmas vacation is over and school starts up again tomorrow!"

Thank goodness

we got some game tape, because the announcement where he's shooting around by himself was eerily reminiscent of the Darko Milicic tape when drafted by the Pistons.

You could see this day coming

after getting swept by the Orioles in 2014.  The team was on a slow decline and you don't try to reverse that with band-aids.

Is it really a tradition

if they've only done it once?

The TD throw

to Black was a beauty???  Black had 15 yards on the guy but Speight threw it late and the defender almost caught up to the play.

They might have lost the big

They might have lost the big game both years, but nothing can erase the joy of those tourney runs.  Great memories.
