this kid has a stripper's name. Or at least a Bond girl's name.

Oh, just quit with these jokes. You're lucky you don't rely on getting pay for these, or you'd be broke.

Well he's going to be shocked to learn that he has a unique name.
(Hi Kwity. Good luck on your decision. Your name is weird.)

Francis. It is a joke.
Kwity, if you are reading this, you have our utmost respect as student, player and human being.
Is that better?

Just consider it this way: he plays in front of 114k+ fans screaming "PAYNE!!!" (or PAIN!!!) when he does well on the field. I think it's a good name.
October 20th, 2016 at 2:31 PM ^
Why would they shout "PAYNE!!!" when his name is "PAYE"?

I dont know
October 20th, 2016 at 8:27 AM ^
I thought his name was "Will Kwity Paye"
I was hoping for another hyphenated recruit. Instantly I was thinking of all of the puns...Will Kwity Paye or Won't Kwity Paye?
My day is ruined. Over a question mark, or lack thereof.

How about Will Johnson?

Have to trust the coaches here, obviously. Brown is Jim's new BFF for a reason.

But he has a RUTGERZ offer. That's good enough for me. In reality, his offer list is not at all impressive. Looks like the kind of recruit we'd get under RichRod sometimes. Sort of, maybe, kind of at the high second tier. Or maybe not...
October 20th, 2016 at 8:48 AM ^
If anyone can coach a super average recruit into an All-Big Ten performer it is this staff. That being said, yes this does seem to be the type of recruiting that got RichRod into talent trouble here.
October 20th, 2016 at 9:00 AM ^
I don't disagree, but if Harbaugh made a comittable offer...good enough for me!
October 20th, 2016 at 9:29 AM ^
And Don Brown's defenses with the kids he had to "settle for at BC" were awful. Clearly Don Brown can't do anything with 3-star recruits.
I get that This Is Michgan™ and we don't have to "settle" for recruits but if Don Brown thinks this kid is good enough for his defense, his track record proves that this kid is good enough for his defense.
His offer list isn't impressive but Don Brown's defenses with kids he recruited is impressive and that is enough for me.
October 20th, 2016 at 9:45 AM ^
His defenses got ripped by Clemson. Its nice and all to shut down the wake forests and nc states of the world but if you want to win a national championship you have to shut down clemson and osu and bama. You can't do that with inferior talent and a good scheme. This kid doesn't seem athletically to the same quality as some of our top tier targets and there isn't an unlimited number of kids in the class.
October 20th, 2016 at 10:02 AM ^
I mean, he's 6'3" and, if this website is correct, runs the 100m dash in 11 seconds. And he has a lot of the characteristics of someone's who's overlooked by the recruiting services... He's from Rhode Island, committed early (to a great DC), committed to a small program, etc.
And every DC gets shredded sometimes, especially when you have offenses like Clemson's on the schedule.
October 20th, 2016 at 10:10 AM ^
You know how many times you have to run in a straight line for more than 10 yards as a DL? If that is happening something has already gone very wrong.
He's stiff in his movement and he's not getting by on much other than his abnormal size against clearly weak competition. That's just what I see on tape.
October 20th, 2016 at 12:06 PM ^
So that makes him a WR then, and we're going to get planty of those. Other guys on the board should be higher.
October 20th, 2016 at 10:01 AM ^
Ripped apart is a bit misleading... in his 3 games against Clemson, BC gave up an average of 25 points and 129 rushing yards. Alabama gave up more against Clemson in the title game, and their defense is loaded with four and five star players.
October 20th, 2016 at 10:13 AM ^
Not the same athetically? Did you honestly watch his film ? The kid is a very good athlete and FAST for a defensive end. He also appears to have a good frame to add significant weight.
His technique is poor, but the staff obviousy feels they can coach him up.
October 20th, 2016 at 10:18 AM ^
Watched his film months ago when his name first came up. Watched all of it. Watch his film and watch Luiji Vilain's and tell me, with a straight face, that they are in the same league athletically.
Now I think Luiji is a kid that will play as a freshman. He's very good. Paye is just not at that level as an End type. He does have a nice frame. I would like to see him add 50 pounds with Tolbert and become a Hurst-type who has above average athleticism for a 3-tech.

Well shit, you got me.
Sure glad my 0 stars didn't cripple my confidence too much to prevent me from playing here.
October 20th, 2016 at 10:29 AM ^
Yes, as did Alabama's defense. I guess Saban doesn't have talent either.

I said you have to trust Brown and that I was sure he could coach him into All B1G, so not sure your little rant was needed.
No coach would tell you that it's not easier to start with more talent than less. Brown might be able to get the kid to an A, but it's easier to start with a B than a C.

The guys DB is targeting are a little suspect. He knows he's at Michigan now right? And with 20 or so high profile guys legitimately considering Michigan I would hold off. We have a couple DL already and Deron Irving Bey, Jay Tufele, and Donovan Jeter whom I'd take over Paye

Tapping into that Rhode Island pipeline.
October 20th, 2016 at 8:48 AM ^
I mean, if you don't build such a pipeline along the length of I-95, then you're in danger of losing all this football talent to Brown and Providence, I would think.
In all seriousness though, you don't hear from Rhode Island that often when it comes to football in virtually any respect, it seems, but this staff definitely makes recruiting a national search.

October 20th, 2016 at 11:09 AM ^
So she'd probably fit in well there from what I understand.
