Cardale Jones played his last game at the shoe

I'd buy it, I guess, but none of those jobs are really an upgrade if you are Meyer. Maybe LSU, but then you have to play the SEC every year and that grinds people down. Plus, he already won two titles at Florida; going back would feel like a downgrade. Maybe USC, but it feels like his particular brand of slimey, sanctimonious a-hole wouldn't fly as well on the coast as it does in Ohio.
I think his team just got on a hot streak last year and is more the team we saw this season; talented but undisciplined.

I get why some people find comfort in conspiracy theories - it is always easier to believe that it is someone/group's "fault" rather than just dumb blind fate - it makes some people feel that their world has more rationale behind it - but if the world ran on conspiracies it would run a lot better! When faced with a choice of simple incompetence/stupidity versus a massive conspiracy - pick stupidity - it has chaos and entropy on its side.

OSU controlled their own destiny. Undeated. Playing for not only the B1G championship, but also a back-to-back National Championships. This conspiracy theory doesn't fly, not with championships on the line.

OSU will have 3 losses next year. Maybe more
Oklahoma, Wisconsin, UM, MSU, PSU, NW is their schedule
They lose their best rb, best wr, 3/5 OL 3/4 DL top 2 LBs. Those lines were supposed to be a strength and MSU owned them in the trenches.
3 losses is going to feel like 9 for those suckers after the past 15 years.
Also what Elliott says is true as hell but you dont say that out loud. Should be a good blow to chemistry. If UM can get up 10+ on OSU I could see them folding like the cheap tent they were tonight.

UM has to be the favorite in the division next year, right? Even though they have to go to MSU and OSU, both those teams lose so much and neither look to be replacing it with significantly better players. OSU seems to not have a decent QB to save their lives, none of the RBs could get going even with Elliott limited, and they've not been able to throw all year. MSU loses Cook, most of the defensive line, and I assume Conklin will bolt. And UM's QB position is a bit up in the air, but I sure as hell trust Harbaugh to develop a QB over Meyer or Dantonio (though to his credit Cook turned out much better than expected).

we are losing a lot of experienced senior starters after this season...

UM loses the three LBs and Wilson at Safety plus Ojemudia/RJS at DE, but the rest of the defense should be back, as is the offensive line save Glasgow. Rudock is out at QB, but the rest of the key playmakers return. And outside of Morgan, none of the LBs have been particularly great this year; Bolden in particular has underwhelmed compared to the hype.
My point isn't that UM isn't losing people, only that the other teams are losing far more key pieces than UM.
November 22nd, 2015 at 1:50 AM ^
+ Houma & Kerridge
And they've been "uuuuge" for us, and, Harbaugh's seven-headed freak-weirdo offenses thrive on having dynamic, playmaking full-BAX.
They must be succussfully replaced.
They will be missed/rememebered well!
November 21st, 2015 at 8:30 PM ^
I believe we will be.
We lose the least on offense in the league - but have a wildcard unknown at QB. OSU returns QB and MSU has a bit of a known quantity now and have 2 choices. But we will have the most experienced lines in the East.
PSU loses Zettel/Nassib on DL and OL is a joke anyhow, OSU loses a ton on both sides, MSU loses a ton on both lines (3/5 OL with Conklin, and 3/4 DL).
Our D will have some personnel issues in back 7 with LBs all gone and Wilson but every team in conf will have some of that. We might win more with off then def next year if we can find any f***** run game.
Then in 2017 we will be sort of in our "well let's just have fun year and build to 2018" as we lose almost our entire lines.
November 21st, 2015 at 9:46 PM ^
Yeah, 2017 doesn't look fun. But then again, with decent recruiting in 2016 they might be able to paper over some of the holes with a competent running game and some transfers. Losing all the LBs will be rough, but other that Morgan and Ross for stretches, I'm not sure that the position has performed much above average all year. This feels like a place where a couple of guys coming in at other positions could be plugged in here. Not optimal, but probably manageable. I'm worried about the RJS/Ojemudia position simply because Marshall hasn't seen the light of day and that was supposed to be his place this year, but the rest of the line coming back will help paper that over.
OSU returning a QB was scary thisyear; next year, I'm not sure where Barrett goes in terms of productivity. At this point, I'm starting to wonder if Meyer's offense has hit the skids a bit like it did with Florida as teams start to figure it out a bit. And that defensive line is going to be radically different next year without Bosa and Washington, along with (I assume) other defections in the defensive backfield.
MSU is going to be reeling I think; I know people keep talking up Terry, but I've not been overly impressed thus far, though in limited snaps. And in terms of skill position players, their passing offense is leaving with Cook and Burbirdge and I don't see anything in the pipeline to replace that. And that secondary - ugh.
PSU never felt like it was in the conversation; Franklin is a terrible coach and even with good recruiting, I can't imagine he'll be able to do much with it in a year.
I'm not saying UM is going to coast to a division title, but they basically lost two games because (1) it was the first game of the year for a new coach, and (2) the craziest f*ing play I've seen in years. Both of their rivals are weakened and UM has one of the best coaches in the country. Feels like their year.

Well, Elliott just said he hated the playcalling and wouldn't play another game at home for OSU. Looks like Urbz is losing that lockerroom a bit.
November 21st, 2015 at 7:50 PM ^
A fired-up Ezekiel Elliott talked about playing hurt, ripped the Ohio State play calling and then said this was his last home game with the program. "There's no chance I'm coming back next year."
