I'm just curious if any of the bloggers witnessed this in person and could share some more details of what happened.

Real shame that one of the fans did this. I like to believe we are a better all around fan base than that.

assholes are everywhere, in every possible group, setting, etc.
but id also like to believe the fan base, in its entirety, demonstrates more maturity than most others out there

After destroying their team, why would a fan feel the need to further inflict pain... on a player no less. I hope they find the asshat and give him what he deserves. There is no place in the game for fan involvement other than cheering and shaking their keys.

Or booing when our former AD's image was shown on the scoreboard.

If I knew I could get away with it, I'd go up there and piss on it. I'm only mostly joking.

HH Holmes, aka Herman Webster Mudgett, made famous in The Devil in the White City, is also a Michigan grad. He confessed to the murder of more than 100, and estimates go beyond 200. Holmes is both the first and worst serial killers ever in the USA.

He's that guy. Really chilling reading up on him. You get a strong sense of what it is to have no scruples, no moral compass, to compassion, to be a "cold blooded" killer.

There is a documentary about him on Netflix. Forgot the name, it was creepy.

There is also some (flimsy) evidence that suggested he could possibly have been Jack the Ripper

So because there was an evil M alum in the past means we shouldn't care if there are evil ones in the future?
(Not that allegedly slapping/grabbing a helmet equates to evil. Just pointing out the gap in logic.)

That type of behavior cannot be tolerated for player safety.

"The site added that the unnamed “man was identified by security and other fans in the section, and was removed from the stadium.”
It appears that everyone around him agreed.

I don't imagine they'll be able to track that person down, but I really hope they can. There's simply no place for that kind of thing and it's disappointing as hell it happened in Michigan stadium.

No they know who did it. The person was ejected, and UM police is waiting for the prosecutor to press charges.

Still not a good situation no matter how you slice it, especially when you consider the amount of alcohol it probably took to get a fan to think slapping an opposing player was a good idea. Probably just the tip of the iceberg.

I don't know, smack to the helmet could probably still be illegal hands to the face, maybe unnecessary roughness. Still a personal foul. Grab and pull is definitely 15 yards though.

Lack of consent is never "kind of weak". There's a big difference between the "violent hitting sport" the player is engaged in on the field during play and his right to walk down the tunnel after the game without being pawed by some asshole fan.
But yeah, whattya expect, a guy dressed like that, just walking down the tunnel - he was just ask'n for it - amirite?

seems like the player was being very intelligent not to strike back, how many times do we critize bigger stronger athlete for kicking the shit out of idiots who start it, in this case he didn't retaliate and should be applauded and yes the dip shit that hit him should either be arrested or allow the player a clean shot with no reprisal.
