the just released schedules were a flat-out statement that the B10 doesn't believe SOS will matter in playoff selection

| 1 year 24 weeks ago | The call was correct on Watson |
Denard was about 4 steps in the end zone when Watson blasted his guy. Also the holding call was correct. It sucked but in the end it only maters in Vegas. |
| 1 year 24 weeks ago | Pitch |
The pitch was fast because Ohio sent a blitz right into the play. It was the perfect playcall by them. |
| 1 year 27 weeks ago | First reaction |
Sorry bout any misspellings... We started out shots for Tds..... Then we played shots for anything good for mich.... So denard please stop turning the ball over...defense more Jake Ryan please... And fitz thank you I needed that. |
| 1 year 31 weeks ago | What i see in this play |
Schofield saves this play in my opinion.... In highschool our team pulled a ton and on the playside where the double team happens... on this play the TE and Slot back double the DE and put him on skates... At this point the TE being on the inside of the double team should be looking for a linebacker to block... If this happens the way it should Schofield should be the lead blocker for Denard through the hole blowing up the saftey and we are all Singing the Victors.... But the TE dosn't get off his initial block and allows the linebacker to shoot that gap that should not be there Schofield has to block him and allows Denard to be one on one with the saftey and gets the first down. I don't know what blocking schemes they are running but if i was coaching that play thats what i would like to see. |
| 1 year 41 weeks ago | Played at SV till1999 |
This doesn't surprise me Start does it in baseball, St Johns, St Francis, and Central do it in other sports mostly football and basketball. If they are letting kids enroll in any school within their district why wouldn't they want to play for the better sports program. |
| 1 year 41 weeks ago | Gant |
From what I remember last year was that gant played a lot of TE on offense for southview. He definitely has the hands to play offense I think he is a little to slow to play wide out in college. Also in the past Southview and Whitmer used to scrimmage each other. I don't know if they are this year but I will look into it. |

This could be a very interesting supplemental draft this year for the NFL. Is Floyd staying in shape for ND or the draft plus Pryor pretty much a shoe in for it. |
| 1 year 50 weeks ago | congrats gant |
Im not surpriesed he is getting stronger this year... southview's coach is a former body builder who runs a great offseason weight program. The thing that surprises me about the recruiting sights is they don't talk about what great hands he has. |
| 2 years 6 days ago | not only is he a great coach.... |
but he did a lot for the game when he was on the rules commity for the big ten. if my memory serves me correct he was a leading voice in getting instant replay in the big ten, and who can forget getting the time keeper changed to a league official so little bro does not get an extra 2 seconds at the end of a game force me to punch a whole in the wall at my friends appartment. |
| 2 years 8 weeks ago | DG |
anyone else here just glad to see that DG's back is ok for him to be taking snaps? |
| 2 years 9 weeks ago | helmet stickers |
i'm all for anything that helps motivate our players to play better.... If they want stickers so they can have competition between each other with sticker's than so be it... if the count down clock reminds them what they are working for than so be it... if hoke wants girls jumping on trampolines in the locker room after a big win than so be it. |
| 2 years 9 weeks ago | i couldn't agree with you |
i couldn't agree with you more.... But when i would play bball with my neighbors with the adjustable hoop brought down to a level that a 10 year old kid could dunk i was always Jalen Rose. I hope the university will reach out to Chris and bring him back into the mich family. |
| 2 years 9 weeks ago | wow |
i can't believe you would hate Webber as much as it sounds like you did. He played his heart out for Michigan, took us to the brink of 2 NC, and has done so much for the city of Detroit. From what it sounded like in Jalen's doc is he probably took some cash after he decided to go to the NBA. The timeline sounds a little fuzzy and is probably against NCAA rules, but so is "streatching" to much as you call it. Also why is what he did so different from what top players do now... before they go into the draft they get "advancements" from agents, to me the only difference was that Ed Martin was part of the Detroit reality... gambleing rings, and using the unions as muscle. |
| 2 years 9 weeks ago | handlers and advisors |
these handler's and advisors are very common in recruiting. back in 1999 when i was playing football in highschool our coach's gave us the name of one of these recruiting guys. i think a couple of kids on my team used him and they are the one's that got offer's from school. i think it gives school's and players a way to connect with each other especially if you don't come from a football factory school. where do you think all these recruiting and highlight video's come from anyway. after reading this article the Oregon thing to me doesn't seem as bad as what everyone is making it out to be |
| 2 years 10 weeks ago | next osu coach |
i know you are joking when you say that...but don't you think they would go the Dantonio route than the RR route for next head coach? |
| 2 years 10 weeks ago | allen gant |
personally i think he will end up playing linebacker in college. He reminds me more of a steve brown\ prescott burgess type of player than a saftey. but he does have very good hands and he also likes to hit. |

how sweet would it be to buy the university seal and then mount it on your roof or side of your house. i would consider that person all in.... |
| 2 years 10 weeks ago | reading offensive line footwork |
i cant tell you how smart that is to watch offensive line footwork depending on what kind of offense is being run. if you are playing an O that pulls guards, tackles, or the center a linebackers first read should be the footwork of whichever linemen they like to pull. if linebacker is caught making his first read in the backfield he is going to be way out of position to counter heavy teams ie... MSU and Wis. now if your first read is the guard and his first step is to open his hips to pull 90% of the time the running back is going to follow where the guard is going. so reading the linemans footwork gives the linebacker a that half of second to get into position instead of reading the backfield flow and being out of position where he can get sealed by the playside guard or center depending on the blocking skeam. also if the guards first step is straight up the linebacker can make the decision that it is a pass instead of a run even though the backfield motion may suggest play action. if you are playing a team that reach blocks like what michigan has been doing the last 5 years. again your first read should be the guards to determine which way the flow is going. if the team runs a lot of bootlegs again you watch the guard or whoever they like to pull for bootlegs and this can all be determined in watching film. My question for Mattison in regarding watching film is, do they not know how to watch all film, film of themselves, or opponents film. |
| 2 years 11 weeks ago | business oppertunity |
I always thought this tragity could become a great business model. Being a finance guy for mid to low football players. You could start off by getting in good with the big athletic agencies. They can start funneling players your way. Your selling point could be how player "X" was making $400,000 a year and was broke after he was cut because he broke his leg... If you sign on with me i can help get yourself financially sound for the long term even if something bad happens. You start small help them invest and build your name and eventually your name gets around the sporting world and you move up to guys making the big contracts. |
| 2 years 11 weeks ago | i was thinking along the same lines |
i'm kind of hoping the team picks 4 captains. Each team starts with an O captain and a D captain. Then they pick each team back yard football style in front of the crowd. Screw that first team vs second team BS we saw in the last spring game |
| 2 years 12 weeks ago | violence |
i was considering the violence more geared to baseball and basketball... as a detroit fan i used to love the Bad Boy's and the Jordan Rules. As far as hockey, the hits are comprable to football. I just think they should allow more fighting in hockey. I never grew up a hockey fan, but i enjoy going to minor league games and its all ways fun when a fight breaks out. I think one of the main reason's it does not translate to the TV is because the puck is hard to follow. Part of this is because a lot of americans don't know how to watch the game properly, you have to be more aware of the strategy of hockey and following the action rather than just trying to watch where the puck is going. In basketball you don't watch the ball as it is bouncing up and down, and football unless it is a pass you don't just watch the ball while someone is running with it. Hopefully with HDTV the puck issue becomes less of an issue. As far as making Soccer more watchable. Get rid of the offside penalty. If a team playing defense doesn't want to keep a defender back to guard against cherry picking then shame on them. plus you have a goalie to help stop the ball. To me the offsides in soccer would be like calling a penalty everytime Braylon got pass a saftey because they are to slow. |

i love live baseball i go to toledo mud hens games for about the same... the only problem is that dame drive home after 9 innings of beer and hot dogs. Also being a michigan fan did you chear or Bo Henson when he played in cbus? |
| 2 years 12 weeks ago | football |
Other reason's football is king - your team plays once a week making it a must see event - only 16 games a year in the regular season making the regular season matter - playoffs are limited to the elite teams only 12 of the 32 teams get in - the violence of the game.... i'm sorry hockey was better with more fights... who doesn't think the best red wings regular season game wasn't the brawl with the Aves? - Fantasy football... this gives you more than just your team to root for - As a kid its a great game to play either in the back yard or on an organized team - its a better game to watch on tv... baseball, hockey, and basketball are better live.

| 2 years 12 weeks ago | i know you say most sports, but not in the NFL |
In the NFL the small markets have just as good a shot at winning the super bowl as large market teams. Look at Green Bay and Pittsburg both cities are small This is done through revenue sharing. It is very socialist in nature, every team gets the same cut of the pie. The NBA should just contract some teams and hold a draft for those players. This would raise the talent level of all teams and make the competition better. |

Bo Pelini seems kind of shady coming from Youngstown. That city is corupt as hell. |
| 2 years 12 weeks ago | keep the game free |
First off i have been to a couple spring games and they have never come close to filling the stadium. So IMO the demand is not high enough at U of M to warrent charging money to get into the spring game. Also i doubt they would have collected around 250K for Motts if they charged everyone 5 bucks. Another poster below mentioned how people were donating more than the 5 bucks to get the all in towel. For more cash they had better prizes and i believe if you donated enough you got to go down on the field for a future game. Keep the game how it is unless the fans start filling the stadium and then i could see paying for a ticket.
i hope to see all you mgoblogers at this years game. |
| 2 years 12 weeks ago | when everyone says yes |
in 2 years offense at U of M will cease to exist as we know it... the defense will average 23 pts per game.. and everyone in the stands will boo our offense when we don't punt on first down. Hoke and Mattison will be knowen as the coaches who revolutionized the game of football. BKfinest it... |
