OT: Little Caesars Hot n' Ready: Delicious pizza with great value? Or low class garbage?
On a whim tonight, I decided to pick up a Hot n Ready pizza. Not a frequent pizza eater, but was very hungry and wanted something tasty right away. I have to say, for the price it's actually pretty decent pizza. I used to make fun of it in the past, but in a world where you can't even get lunch for under $8, they've certainly converted me.
I thought I'd pose this question to the MGoBlogosphere. Is this good value pizza? Or just rubbish?
Not the best pizza in the world, but it is pretty solid, and that amount for that price is amazing. So sad that there isn't one in Boston
Once upon a time, there was a Little Caesar's in the Michigan Union. And on a day almost two decades ago, said company annoucned their greatest invention since "Pizza! Pizza!" -- the $5 pizza deal on Wild Wednesdays. And oh, Oh! the students flocked from what seemed like miles, with a line extending almost to the front door of the Union. And the students all slept well those nights, their tummies full of digusting greasy yummness cheap pizza, and their hearts still full of joy from having won the National Championship in football.
I would eat Little Caesars every Wednesday for a year just to have another National Championship.
I remember that! A friend worked there!!
It wasn't that long ago! ;-)

It's cheap pizza. Nothing more, but nothing less, either. Adjust your expectations accordingly.
Domino's was pretty solid when I was in college, but they've really gone downhill with their products.
I live three blocks from Jet's. If I want decent/good pizza, I'm walking to Jet's.
I think LC was better back then but also, I liked eating about any pizza as a kid. When they started the pizza-pizza back in the 80s, I think if fell a few notches for me. My wife makes a killer homemade margarita pizza! The only pizza I eat now a days!
A good night for me as a lad consisted of buddies, Atari, and a 2 liter of coke or Mountain Dew.

But given my kids only like cheese pizza, it's a lot easier to stomach getting them the $5 hot and ready for pizza and movie night. I doubt I'd get it otherwise, but actually not getting birch slapped by my wallet for ordering takeout is a nice thing.
Noawadays you can get a medium from dominos for $8 so...
I camped my way across the country. After 6 weeks of freeze dried camping food I broke down, drove into a small town and picked up a Little Caesars Hot n' Ready. After 2 slices, the remainder went into the campgrounds dumpster.
can we officially turn this into a best pizza in Michigan thread?
Here's one vote for Loui's on Dequindre & 9 Mile.
Horrible dank atmosphere, used to be cash only (probably money laundering just south of the hazel park race track)
but oh man the deep dish pizza was amazing and always put Buddy's to shame.
And Dear Lord do we need football season to start when we get into topics like these.

In my experiences, the biggest variable is location; the further you get from the Pizza Man's places of worship (JLA and CoPa), the more the pizza suffers.
It's a white trash move. Almost as bad as eating gas station hot dogs.
little caesars tastes like the box that another slightly less-terrible pizza sat in.
The $2.50 mini pizza from Geppettos. Of course you need to order 2 to meet the $5 minimum for delivery and you need a time machine set to 1989

Step 1: Buy a $5 Hot & Ready from Little Caesar's (deep dish is way better for a still reasonable price), pepperoni is a must.
Step 2: Buy a bottle of quality bleu cheese dressing (I might recommend Ken's Steakhouse brand).
Step 3: Pour that shit all over the pizza and you'll be able to happily eat the entire thing. Otherwise it's pretty hard to stomach.
Back when Little Sleazers was in the Union I use to get the pizza for free. A guy in my Freshman English class worked there and he'd give me the pizzas that people ordered but never picked up. It seems there were a rash of underclassmen who would place an order with no intention of ever picking them up. When you had West Quad food for more than a month, a free Sleazer's pizza wasn't hard to pass up. And did I mention it was free?
