Adidas or Under Armour?
let's say that Nike is off the table and the choice is either staying with adidas for a shit ton of money or going with under armour.
I say stay with adidas. Michigan would be THE adidas school and be making the most money in the nation on the deal. now this is only a hypothetical scenario of Nike not being an option.

but my vote is for Champion.
I've been wearing Nike shoes since middle school basketball 29 years ago. I wore them for my various sports and that carried over to casual sneakers. I loved them, their fit, and their quality.
I just bought my first UA basketball shoe after my son got a pair for his AAU team. He kept raving about how much better they were than his several Nike shoes. He convinced me to go to the UA store and try them.
Easily the best shoes (I bought two) I've had in my life. And the price is less than Nike. These shoes are made for using - not simply looks. They really are a better shoe.
No stock in UA (though I think it'd be a great buy). I'm just sharing this because I bet many of you are like me and have never tried them on.
seconds that. Have a pair of Curry's and they are the best bball shoes I've had.
Curiously they have not brought my game back.
Anyway UA doesn't have to be the garish horror show that MD and ND have trotted out. Methinks Hackett / Harbaugh would stop that.
I have no idea what the kids are wearing these days. I own Nike, Merrells, Inov8s, Brooks and UA. I'd be ok with Nike or UA, anything but Adidas based solely on their awful alternate uniforms.
Avia. Now those were some kicks.

We've seen Adidas, and they have been less than impressive. I feel like UA might send the traditionalists in a whirlwind by tweaking the jerseys somehow, so it's a tough decision. I guess my vote would be for UA. Let's see what they can do.
Or we can just get Nike. Haha

I can't wait until they shock the world and come out of the tunnel one day sporting some rather nice Johnston & Murphy shoes. They aren't terribly comfortable for athletics, of course, but any team that wore them would be well on their way to being the best-dressed team on any field or court certainly.
You hate his face six times. Hahaha.

even better
UA makes some quality stuff.
I also think Harbaugh and co. will pick Nike based on tradition and past experience AND just wanting a totally clean slate. JMO.

Most of the sports apparel I've bought lately has been UA (golf polos/pants/shorts, running shirts, compression base-layer), and it's all been pretty high quality stuff. Haven't used any of their shoes or protective gear.
At the end of the day, though, I don't really care one way or the other.

Are Le Coqs an option? As a twofer, then we could get Kramer's Little Jerry for a mascot. Perfect!
Honestly, I see guys combing their hair before coming out of the locker room to play. And, like, I get it. Intellectually. I get the whole fashion thing, in my head. In my heart, I don't feel it. I never cared one bit how I looked while I was playing and I still don't when I coach.
And I think that any benefit from a UA shoe vs a Nike shoe vs a Le Coq shoe is completely washed away by the time you could be spending practicing or studying film instead of fussing over shoes. Either that or, if there truly is a significant benefit to one athlete over another from a certain shoe or stick, then I think that there are just as good odds that another company's product will be just as beneficial for another athlete with a different style. I mean, athelets are so individual, does it really make sense that Steph Curry would need the same kind of shoe as a high school or college-age Austin Davis?
But I understand that it's important to just about everyone except me, and so I get why fashion and equipment is an important AD decision. It's just all a bit frustrating, though.
out of your locker room, or just cover them up with paper or something...
