Build a time machine and go back to when you were 5. You'll have a much easier time rationalizing your new hobby. Only 3 autographs I ever obtained were all before age 13: 1) Payne Stewart at the Memorial right before he passed in the crash 2) Dan Marino poster in junior high raffle for having good grades or some shit 3) Vince Carter skybox out of an ordinary pack of cards from the corner store

Dreaded double

But, I agree with Evans as a breakout

Don't add weight too quickly

I wouldn't stress him putting on weight.  If it comes naturally as his body develops and retains his quickness and acceleration, then great.  But with the big backs we have in the fold, the last they should do is try to pack weight on Evans.

Welp

That's the end of that

Call me crazy But I could see us staying put at 3. We don't play this week so that gives the committee opportunity to move those other teams ahead of us, so there is no reaso to drop us now when they can next week. The committee wants us in. Saban Harbaugh= ratings. We definitely need Washington or Clemson to go down next week
Apologies

Apologies for my shitty embedding job with these shots.  I'm not the most technically savvy person but thought some of you would like to see these.

I rewatched the game quickly to see if I was crazy for thinking we had been shorted on spots and they had been given generous spots. There were multiple instances where that was the case. And, along the way I happened to catch what I thought were glaring hands to the face and holding penalties that went uncalled (which I wasn't watching for, but they jumped off the screen).  I did not include the obvious 2 PIs and unneccesary roughness penalty on Mike Weber that went uncalled because I have seen images or GIFs already posted.

Background, I have no referee training, so please correct me if I am wrong in any of these. And disclaimer- I'm not presenting this as proof the referees favored OSU, but as reason for someone more qualified to take a closer look.

Aside: There is no use focusing on the OT spot. For every view that shows the line to gain was not made, there is another showing that it was.  No one knows because there is no camera view directly down the 15 yard line.  The initial spot has to stand in this case whether it was deemed good or short.  Focusing on the spot only dilutes Michigan's argument. Rather, the focus should be on the blatant missed calls and lopsided nature of the officiating. Also, the team shouldn't have put themselves in a position to have the referees impact the final outcome. With that said, the referees need to be held accountable for their performance, just as every other professional is (yes, even weathermen and women)

Takeaway: it is definitely worthwhile for someone with more football rules experience and technical savvy to do a thorough run down evaluating both sides.  Also, upon further review this should not be the last of the refereeing threads.  I can't spend more time on this so someone else take it from here.

I've posted some screen shots

I've posted some screen shots at the top of this thread. I'm fairly clumsy when it comes to embedding so the quality isn't great (stretch). But during a quick rewatch, it wasnt hard to find things all throughout the game, mostly second half. Would be worth someone's time who is more technically savvy

Stop me if I've said this before

But Prince with yet another hold (#59) top of the screen

Same drive, different hold

OL Prince (#59) with another hold at the top of the screen two plays later

Holding

OSU OL Prince (#59) with the hold at top right of screen

Wasn't even watching the line

Sad part is I wasn't looking for holding or hands to the face, only watching for the spotting of the ball... but it was so glaring I couldn't miss it. Oops, dont tell the refs that.

Action at the top left of the screen, 74 hands to the face. I can understand this going uncalled..until I consider the face mask penalty on Cole.

And you get a yard!

Another yard for Barrett. Action is just above Stribling (#8)  Forward progress stopped by Ben Gedeon at the 27, spotted at the 28

You get a yard!

I think we all said that multiple times. Here's that yard given back to Barrett. Down at the 20, spotted at the 21

More hands to Gary's face

Again, wasn't even looking for these, was trying to see if I was crazy about the spots or just high at the time.

Action center of screen. 77 hands to Gary's face (#3)

But no yard for you

Here DeVeon Smith is behind Mason Cole (#52), being tackled by Baker (17). He is diving still in the air to the 17 yard line and his balls (his gonads not the football) reach the 18 yard line before he lands.

Ball is spotted at the 18 yard line, at least a yard short. Simple mistake, confused nuts for foozeballs.

Is this a hold?

On the fake punt stop, good thing Glasgow is a Glasgow and got off that "block" as Herbstreit would say... Hubbard has a hand around his neck and is using his other hand to pull Glasgows arm. No call.

At least a yard taken from Darboh

you're welcome

Game of inches

Exactly, it is the easiest way to affect the game as an official with getting noticed.. unless someone reviews all the spots of the game and a pattern develops. Short a couple feet on first and second down and then come up short on 3rd, no one notices

I saw the same thing

There is no need to measure

There is no need to measure "the spot".  By rule, OT starts from the 25 yard line, so the 15 yard line is the line to gain.  That play all hinged on the call on the field. There is no arguing after that because there wasn't an angle down the 15 yd line to overturn the call.  If it would have been called short on the field, same thing not enough to overturn that call. Now do I think they gave a generous spot initially? of course, but you guys are wasting time and diluting the argument by focusing on that.

Review of all spots

I'm not talking about the OT spot, but did anyone else notice throughout the game that they seemed to be giving OSU 6inches or more on spots while shorting us? If someone has the time and the espn app you can rewatch the game.  It would be great to gather some screen shots of where the ball was when the runner was down and where the ball was spotted throughout the entire game

This is a game of inches.  This would be the easiest way to affect the outcome of a game without being noticed..unless someone were to go back and look for that.  If there was a pattern to this, a legit argument can be made.  Focusing on bang bang plays will get you no where.

Rematch the Game

I wish I had the time to go back and rewatch the game analyzing every spot.  Before the first half I noticed every spot of theirs was generous while we were being shorted 6 inches regularly.

This is a game of inches. Doing this goes unnoticed and has an impact eventually. I'm not talking about the one spot in OT. If you are going to affect the game as an official, this is the easiest way without people catching on.  if someone.. say a college kid about to go on break with ESPN app, can pause and screenshot when where the play is down and compare that to where it is marked for both teams, it would be greatly appreciated.  This is something that if it was a pattern, could have a serious impact on people's opinion of the game.

The power of reddit and the internet would come in handy if there was something to that.

Yea there's no way. He had to Yea there's no way. He had to run past at least 3 of his teammates who had obviously stopped and were just standing there to deliver the blow. Lost all respect for Miles, especially because the job is already lost.. not too hard to do the right thing, who cares what LSU people you piss off. 6 games minimum, Id be okay suspending him for the year. No place for that cheap shit in a game that is already dangerous enough as is.
