NFL Draft rounds 4-7 [open thread]

Submitted by Magnus on

Jake Ryan is still available. I'm interested to see whether anyone takes a chance on Devin Gardner.

Let the fun begin again!

Congrats to Jake.  GB is a great team and he should have ample opportunities to improve and learn from the veterans already in the front 7.

I'm glad he went to GB. I'm so pissed he went to GB.

It's gonna be great getting to see him play at least twice a year, just sucks it's for the Packers.

a tension filled set of Bert Beilema & Pat Fitzgerald. Each constantly taking real but softballed shots at each other....lol. Then, they go live to Baltimore where the fan pick girl is already making news & I had no idea "the voice of the Ravens" is named Gerry Sandusky. Soft g. So unfortunate.

Bill Polian said Jake Ryan was his favorite player in the DRAFT.

That's one heck of a stamp of approval!

They just raved about JMFR, that was awesome.

That's not quite what it looks like.  First off it's several years old.  Second, from what I've read, it's more of a weird motivational tactic where the Attention NFL Scouts sign would stay there and the coaches would post a list of players who missed a class or were late for a workout or something during the week.  The list is much newer looking and hastily typed up.  I don't think it actually means "La'El Collins is such a selfish waste of oxygen that Les Miles actually thinks you shouldn't draft him."

Horrendous draft so far for Pittsburgh. Wasted a pick on Coates and took a Grant over Ifo and Amos for no reason other than there is some sort of Ohio State mandate in Colberts contract.

I don't know how much burn Coates is actually going to get, though, considering how well Le'Veon can catch and how the TE position is embedded in the fabric of Pittsburgh. I understand taking a WR but in the 3rd round? Far too high. I'm certain Coates would've been there in the 5th because of how raw he is.

In no order...

  • Michael Bennett - DT
  • Anthony Harris - S
  • Ifo Ekpre-Olomu - CB
  • Kenny Bell - WR

...with this upcoming 5th round choice.

I really think you get Bennett or Ekpre-Olmu knowing that you're more likely to "hit" at that position having 2 DTs or 2 CBs in this draft.

Lions take FB, Michael Burton, Rutgers...sigh.

Mayhew is always the WORST in the late rounds, don't even know why I bother.

He was projected as undrafted. This is where I don't see the logic...he may be higher on their board based on need, but do they really think some other team was going to swoop in and take Michael Burton in round 5?

That's my biggest pet peeve, if you're an NFL team, don't just worry about YOUR board...worry about everyone elses too.

And no one else was going to take this guy...they could've waited until the 7th round if they true LOVED the kid. You can say the same about 2-3 other Lions picks. It's fine that you LOVE the kid...but see where the demand is and slot your pick accordingly.
