That was the feeling I was…

That was the feeling I was getting, too, but I figured I could have been missing something.  Either way, we were not bullying them and winning the line of scrimmage during that portion.

That story isn't entirely…

That story isn't entirely true. The second and third quarter was a lot of Michigan trying to run to no success. Washington adjusted and put up a fight after the first punch. Both teams had a lot of missed opportunities. It was a close game where we took their soul at the end, which was awesome.

Go blue!

Win will cause me to: watch…

Win will cause me to: watch the game

Loss will cause me to: not watch the game

My body doesn't do well with the stress levels that come on in these rivalry games.  As much as I tell myself not to get too emotionally invested, I always get really stressed in these games.  I will bury my head in the sand until the game is mostly over and then determine if I'm going to watch it on replay or not.

Let's go blue!

Each time I see reference to…

Each time I see reference to Dylan Morris, I immediately think, "wait, a Michigan transfer is their QB?"  My mind has created some mashup of Dylan McCaffery and Shane Morris to represent their QB.

My Bid

45-9 Michigan.  Please donate my earnings to the Arc of the Triangle.

Morning

Drinking coffee and watching the outskirts of Matthew do work here in Raleigh. Glad I'm not the UNC, NC State or Duke football teams or fans, this would be awful to sit in

Late to the game

I'm late to the game, but hopefully this hasn't been taken:

M - 39

W - 15

41-26 Michigan

41-26 Michigan and fans are frustrated because the defense lets up some big plays.

High Profile Recruits

How many texts/tweets/etc. a day do high profile recruits receive from coaches during the free access periods?  How many a day do high profile recruits receive from recruiting journalists/insiders?  I have to think these would be very large numbers based on the arms race recruiting can be.

49-3

49-3 Go blue!

50-15 Go Blue!

50-15 Go Blue!

Ishmael

Ish is short for Ishmael which is a Biblical name and a Moby Dick name

33 - 25 Michigan

33-25 Michigan

My wife

I haven't been close yet, so I'm resorting to letting my wife make the call...  She says Michigan wins 35-21.

37-17 Michigan

37-17 Michigan Win

Michigan Win

I'm guessing 30 - 13 Michigan.

Bonus prediction: Minnesota scores on their first drive due to being motivated about the whole Jerry Kill thing plus Michigan usually gives up some yards on the first drives.

Thanks

Thanks everyone, I should have figured.  My bad.  Hail MGoBlog!

Relatively

I get most of the inside jokes on here but that one definitely snuck past me.  Just saw the clip over on the posbang thread that the joke must have come from.  The more you know...

Dantonio

Not trying to be a spelling police but are people calling MSU's coach D'Antoni to troll him or do people forget that his name is Dantonio.  Mike D'Antoni is (or was) an NBA basketball coach.  I've just seen it a lot this week and am thrown off by it.

23-13 Michigan

23-13 Michigan

Linemen downfield

Brian is always bringing up the non-call of illegal receivers downfield in college?  I see linemen blockers 8 yards downfield on that Buttscreen.  Looks like that worked out to our advantage... or perhaps I might not understand that rule correctly.

21-7

I got 21-7 Michigan.  Given the rain and wind, I think it will be low scoring since both teams will be running most of the time and stacking the box on defense.  Also, nobody's going to want to kick field goals.

Ifs

There are a lot of "ifs" in there and it doesn't make me feel comfortable.  We lost to Maryland last year and Northwestern is ranked so I'm not ready to start talking about MSU.  Also, I feel it would be smart to temper the expectations considering after the UNLV game just last week many of us were thinking the team regressed and Rudock was not the answer.

I'm In

I'll be there with my brother and cousin. They're flying down from Michigan and I'm driving up from NC.  Gonna do some sightseeing on Friday and Saturday morning.  Excited to see College Park and a Michigan victory!

Clutch!  Nice decision Jake

Clutch!  Nice decision Jake

Rudock confidence

I gotta believe the Darboh catch and that nice 3rd down conversion are going to be very good for Jake Rudock's confidence going forward.

What a play call!

That play design and call was awesome getting Hill WIDE open down the middle!

27-20 BYU

27-20 BYU is my guess.  I hope I don't win stuff and Michigan wins, but BYU is a tall task.

43-9 Michigan

43-9 Michigan is my prediction

So close

Man, this jersey is SO CLOSE to excellent, that tire tread on the shorts just kills it.  Aside from that it would be a nice classic look

Ugly

I think it will be ugly and low-scoring.

Michigan - 13, Utah - 9

Confusing

Each of the pressers I've watched of Harbaugh since coming to Michigan, he definitely has a unique way of responding.  I feel like he didn't actually answer any of the questions asked.  What did you learn from Ditka? Let me tell you about how I went out to eat with him last night.  I guess it's his version of coachspeak, just taking an item from your question and going off in a different direction.  Still quite entertaining.  I would have liked a few more specific questions about the team and this upcoming year than there was.

Hopeful

I'm hopeful the athletic department has people following the Michigan blogs and noticing things like this.  It seems in their best interest to know what the fans want for things like this.  It's not like this is going to impact wins and losses, but it seems like choosing a color the fans want is an easy way to earn goodwill with the fans.

Read

I read that initially as he was a 300 pound linebacker and was like, wow, how did that happen?!

Hopefully his thoughts are consistent among other recruits as well.

Excellent!

Sounds like Michigan is the place he wants to be and that is awesome!  I like that Harbaugh is generating a lot of depth that is at least somewhat proven.  This way we aren't relying on an unproven freshman to come in and perform right away.

Good matchup

Oops, infamous double post

Good matchup

In these early season games, I like it when the matchups are solid teams but one's where we're not a heavy underdog.  NC State should be a very even matchup since they went to the sweet 16 last year and are returning a lot of talent.  This season is stacking up nicely with Xavier and SMU and the other tournament.  It doesn't have the sex appeal of Duke, UNC, or Louisville, but given this past season, Michigan would not be ready to take on those guys at this point in the year (in my humble opinion).  NC State is winnable.

YES!!!

This is exactly what I hoped for!  I'm moving to Raleigh in June so I'm getting tickets for sure.  Look for me, I'll be the one wearing all Maize and Blue.

Stainbrook

Sorry, I should mention his name is Matt Stainbrook.

Xavier

That guy was a starter on Xavier this last NCAA tournament and played fairly well.  I think Brian was trying to make some commentary about either grad transfers or small school Michigan guys recruited by the MAC.  He was a highly entertaining character to watch.  I think Alex had some commentary on him during his preview of the Sweet 16 as well.

Exciting

Man this get's me really excited for the basketball season next year!  There are a lot of questions, but they are mostly surrounding how to make all this talent work together well and how much development will the freshmen have.  I imagine the start of the season may be a bit rough getting all the guards and wings to gel and getting the posts in the flow.  Still, there is a ton of talent here and Beilein's ruthlessly efficient offense always comes around for B1G season.

I know Beilein calls him Rahk, but I like MAAR better, seems more manly.

Jake Ryan to Green Bay!

Jake Ryan to Green Bay!

I'm Going

I'll be there, it will by my first spring game and I'm pretty excited.  I'm curious what the attendance is going to be like considering the general excitement surrounding a new regime, decent weather, and an actual(ish) game being played.

Thanks

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll do a little research in the future to substantiate my wild postulations.  First one out of the way, so it only gets better from here...

Comparisons

I see McGary developing into a Joakim Noah type of player (with a prettier shot).  High energy, reliable with the ball and solid rebounder.

I think Trey has to become more of a distributor.  Perhaps as his team adds more talent he will start to play more in the Chris Paul/John Wall vein rather than Brandon Jennings/Kemba Walker/Damian Lillard.  He just isn't tall or athletic enough to generate on his own as effectively.

Agreed

The way I see it, he came out of college as a super athlete but not very skilled or good at defense.  To make it in the NBA going off of raw atheticism and limited shooting/dribbling, you better be a strong defender and rebounder.  He's going to have to develop either defensively or REALLY develop his shot.

Kenpom

Kenpom has them as the #1 team and therefore they will win.  All hail kenpom.  This year my bracket predictions were based 100% off who had the better ranking per kenpom.

+1 For Troll 2.  Best $1.50 I

+1 For Troll 2.  Best $1.50 I spent in ebay ever.  Grandpa Seth for Oscar.

Big Markets

I don't think the world should have to hear about the Knicks, Lakers, Jets, and any other NY or LA team that is terrible.  I think the media should give them the same attention as the Utah Jazz or Jacksonville Jags.

Also, I think Carmelo is extremely overrated.  Get's points but doesn't make a team better.

Playoffs

I think the NFL and NCAA football playoffs shouldn't be expanded (and throw March Madness into it, too).  The more teams in these 1 and done formats makes more and more unlikely that the best team actually wins.  Plus with football, you have to consider the health of the players as well.
