I've been nothing but a Gardner supporter his entire career.

And I still support him.

But the dude has to be benched.

He no longer gives us the best chance to win...which is sad to say because it speaks to how slim our chances of winning for the rest of the season are.

It really doesn't.

Which is the sad part. Which is why I don't really think Morris is any worse at this point.

Our QB play is insanely poor and inconsistent all around.

But let's say IU isn't, well...IU. Gardner could easily have 3 INTs. He doesn't have 3 logged, but he's thrown 3, easy. At some point, you gotta pretend that there is some accountability in position play.

Even if it is a total pretense.

I dunno... I don't completely disagree, but the same coaches that have done so well developing Gardner are also developing his backups.  Poor Shane has shown no promise in his few opportunities at the helm.  Plus, with our porous O-line, you might as well keep him healthy in hopes he will mature as a passer and regain some confidence in the pocket.
