Peppers at 10, which seems low.

OP -- the article doesn't quote the PSU AD as saying that Big Ten teams are doing the negative recruiting. Per today's UV article on the main page, speculation is that it is primarily Pitt.

Either that's a typo or the English language is changing too fast for me to keep up.
|2 weeks 2 days ago||Boy that would be hard to do||
I'm not a fan of rigid adherence, but I suspect one reason behind the autobench policy is to discourage players from picking up that 2nd foul in the 1st half. I'm not sure how you'd analyze the indirect effect autobench has on discouraging fouls.
Even a static analysis would seem to be very difficult, but then again, I'm not a statistician.
|2 weeks 2 days ago||Makes me wonder||
who the 12 most conservative are?!?!?
EDIT: Now I see that there is a full list with the link, and that Tubby Smith and Fran McCaffery supposedly use autobench even more rigidly than Beilein.
|2 weeks 2 days ago||Well said||
I also grew up in PA and admired what I thought Paterno represented.
|2 weeks 3 days ago||That's a stretch||
I think Stephen is just being objective here. Was it Hoke's fault what Frank Clark did? Would any of us be surprised if Taylor Lewan got in a scuffle in a bar and got charged with assault? If he did, would that be Hoke's fault too? Unfortunately, stuff like this happens to players and ex-players from every school.
|2 weeks 5 days ago||I don't know a thing about UFC 200||
but I am having a pilsner night. Started with a Sierra Nevada Nooner, currently enjoying a New Glarus Two Women, and maybe later a Summit Keller Pils.

Just give recruits Christian Hackenberg's business card.
|5 weeks 7 hours ago||Go Caris!||
Congrats to the classy young man.
|5 weeks 2 days ago||Jabrill lite||
That's how I've viewed him too, but after these reports, do we consider deleting the "lite"?
|5 weeks 2 days ago||I didn't take it there||
I didn't take the conversation there, buddha (the poster I was responding to) said there was nothing else to do here, which is wrong and doesn't relate to the topic (as you note, but you're blaiming it on the wrong person).
|5 weeks 2 days ago||Boy are you ignorant||
Pittsburgh is not a good sports town because you don't happen to be a fan of the Steelers? How objective of you. Some might be pursuaded by the 6 Super Bowls (most of any team) and hundreds of consecutive sellouts, but I guess I'll have to say that doesn't matter because you don't like the Steelers. And the Penguins? There was a guy before Crosby named Mario Lemieux. Look him up, you'll learn something.
|5 weeks 2 days ago||Minneapolis||
If we're talking major league sports success, yes, Minneapolis needs to be in the conversation because none of its teams have even been to a Finals since 1991 (not counting the WNBA Lynx). But the Twin Cities has one of the best baseball parks anywhere, a decent football team, and a basketball team very much on the way up.
However, if you're talking quality of life, you're way off on trashing the Twin Cities. It has a vibrant economy with a reasonable cost of living, a great urban housing stock, tons of biking and running trails along the lakes and rivers, the best two park systems in the US (Mpls rated #1, St. Paul #2), its usually in the top 5 in most lists of literacy, quality of schools, civic involvement, etc. Just today a study was released ranking MN as the "best state for kids."
|6 weeks 6 days ago||Mackinac||
|6 weeks 6 days ago||Yellowstone||
Yellowstone is probably my favorite because there's so much going on in addition to the natural beauty. But it's so hard to pick just one. Also in the running are Glacier, Hawaii Volcanoes, Smoky Mtn., Denali/McKinley, Everglades and Grand Canyon. On my must see list are Yosemite and Acadia.
OP -- do yourself a favor and visit Death Valley. It has its own stark beauty. The salt polygons are amazing, the sand dunes are fun to climb, and the scope is immense (the largest national park not in Alaska). We were there in the spring, which is a great time to visit.
Drinking a Summit Keller Pils tonight to start out. A very crisp, well done pilsner. Next, on to a Bauhaus SkyHigh IPA.
|6 weeks 6 days ago||Grand Canyon||
Did you hike down into the canyon? I didn't get a whole lot from just looking down into it from the rim, but really enjoyed hiking to the river and back (though I didn't enjoy the next morning -- God was I sore!)
|6 weeks 6 days ago||I saw MSH||
in the mid-1990s. Truly incredible! The tree trunks were still there, lying on the ground and all pointed away from the summit. I wonder what it looks like today.
|7 weeks 13 hours ago||that is one amazing photo||
Scotland is on my bucket list. Not only beautiful, but I also look forward to trying a lot of single malts!
|7 weeks 13 hours ago||Big Island is amazing||
I strongly prefer it to Maui. So diverse -- desert on the west, rainforests in the east, beaches on the coast, snow-capped mountains in the interior, volcanoes . . .
|7 weeks 13 hours ago||Grand Canyon||
I didn't really appreciate the Grand Canyon until we hiked down into it. A whole different experience than looking from on top. Simply incredible.
|8 weeks 2 days ago||Not only did you not read the article||
but you did not read the (few) comments above, which would have led you to discover that . . .IT'S A JOKE!!!
Pet Peeve: Internet posters who just have to drop their precious snowflake but don't have enough time to figure out exactly what it is they are commenting on.
|8 weeks 6 days ago||Not a shock at all||
That's exactly where a fringe tourney team that returns everyone, with a good but not great incoming class, should be.
|9 weeks 2 days ago||Poor forklift driver||
but damn, that guy is quick! He shot out of there like a cat.
|9 weeks 2 days ago||Cole||
I'll go with Cole for the reasons others mentioned. #2 is probably Peppers, then Lewis #3. The rest of the starting OL is #4-7 and Chesson #8.
|10 weeks 1 day ago||Please no, not Brent||
Keep him out in his SEC pasture. I can't stand listening to that blowhard. Among other sins, he began the ridicuous habit of saying, every single time, that a team "burned" a timeout, not matter what the reason for calling it. And now everyone copies it.
|10 weeks 3 days ago||Pictures 50 and 51||
I wonder if that's where DB wrote his imfamous late-night emails?
|10 weeks 3 days ago||Because a lesser competitor||
Because a lesser competitor wouldn't have even tried to come back, his attempt to return, only to find he couldn't, undermines rockedinny's point how exactly? It actually supports it by showing how much Caris wanted to play.
|10 weeks 5 days ago||If we are 11-1||
and our one loss is against OSU, we won't be going to the BIG Championship. I don't see the Buckeyes losing against two other BIG teams.
|10 weeks 6 days ago||4th downs?||
We won't have any of those!
