Didn’t see this posted. Jim Harbaugh is on the Dodd watch list, but I’m afraid he has little chance going up against Mel Tucker. I’m glad the nation recognizes Mel’s true talent through all the noise about being 5-7, having your players assault other teams, and his starting QB running from a dumpster fire. I look forward to the exciting battle between these coaches for the next 9 years and $85.5mm.

I swear the entire MSU athletics institution is made up entirely of message board fanbois. From the fans to the media to the AD. The idea of a booster footing the bill to overpay for a head coach is sports talk radio logic that never happens in real life, and here the MSU AD was trying to pass it off as if it actually happened. Honestly, this is a legit. list with Mel on it - with that roster if he somehow gets MSU past 4 wins this year he deserves COTY.

Just the ones for whom a good year would automatically make them COY candidates. It's a great way to look good if lightning strikes. A second time, in Mel's case.

I was going to post something similar but thought it was too soon.

I think this is pretty much it. Or really, it's the fact that they were bad last year. Harbaugh is not going to win COY if he wins the Big Ten a third time in a row, but if Tucker improves his 5-7 team, he could. Plus, he's had a good year before, setting him apart from other 5-7 coaches. If he has a year like two years ago, he'd probably win it.
