The media is stoking the "fire"

Just a couple of years ago Jim had the 49ers in the superbowl. There is no way he bolts from the NFL, even if he is not happy with the 49ers organization, to a tire fire like this. They need to find a good NFL coordinator that maybe isn't quite ready or isn't in line for a NFL head coaching position. The defensive coordinator for the Arizona Cardinals, Todd Bowles would be a good example of this but there are many others. You could have a shot at them for the right amount of money, money that Michigan has.

James Joseph Harbaugh will be the next head coach here.

James Joseph Harbaugh will never coach at Michigan

His wings are made of wax anyway, just let him fly.

I'm just trying to prevent mass MGoSuicides when Hoke is fired, Brandon is retained, and Scott Loeffler is introduced as head coach

Because you don't think he's an NFL guy for some reason?
September 23rd, 2014 at 7:07 PM ^
the speculation is rampant, reckless, and usually just bull. Remember when Les Miles totally bought a house in Ann Arbor? Or maybe it was Jon Gruden that was totally on campus today.
Usually when there's a hot story, people rush to just slap whatever crap they can find across the internet and "Michigan may try to get Jim Harbaugh if Brady Hoke is let go at the end of the season" devolves overnight into 10,000 speculation articles with precisely no credible information.
Wake me up in February. Hopefully #1 Michigan Hockey and #1 Michigan Basketball will be gearing up for their tournament runs

He is not coming here folks. At the end of the year, there will be a number of NFL jobs open even if he wants to leave SF. Does anyone think that he would reject a huge money offer to be the coach of the Dallas Cowboys? Or, how about the NY Giants? This is so not going to happen. In fact, its 50/50 that Hoke comes back next year.

Well, it is a pretty well-written piece. It is short and gets to the point. Every point made is valid. Harbaugh seems to be one of the few coaches who can beat teams of equal or better personnel in the NCAA with a pro style offense. I would much rather have a spread guy, but would be more than willing to see what Harbaugh could do when the obvious happens at the end of the season.

maybe he will, maybe he wont. more annoying than the speculation are the people stating their opinion as fact that it won't happen.
September 23rd, 2014 at 7:28 PM ^
Anyone saying that something either will, or will not happen is dumb. Nobody knows anything right now. No one, other than the parties concerned.

anything is possible until it ain't. Everyone just needs to buckle up for the ride that's coming, cuz no one has any idea how it will end.

If only.

Hopefully not Adrian Peterson, who has a lot of free time on his hands.

Jerry Kill succeeds Lloydddd Brady as head football coach at the University of Michigan. According to plane watch.

JH will onlty come if Brandon is given the boot ...& they give him the keys.
JH is an awesome coach at any level. We just need to hope he wants to get his alma mater back to a national contender.
He could become the next Bo if he did that....

Harbaugh has tasted success in the NFL and if things don't work out in SF and he has a spectacularly shitty season, he will have 6-7 teams driving the Brinks truck up his driveway to take over their franchise. For an ego like his, I can't imagine him being satisfied as Super Bowl runner up. Especially after Pete Carroll just got one.
He's not coming here. Not even under the premise of "rebuilding" the program and then heading back to the NFL later. He is there, he can coach, and he's better than 85% of the coaches currently in the league. One more time....with feeling, he's NOT coming here.

Michigan will improve enough to beat OSU in Columbus, finish at 7-5 and Hoke will get a contract extension. Then over the next 5 seasons his record will improve by one game each year.

A HC job at a top college football program like Michigan does not come around very often (historically speaking, of course). But it seems there are many NFL head coaching jobs popping open year after year. Much more of a revolving door there. If Harbaugh did get offered and accepted the Michigan job, I think he knows that the NFL will always be there again for him in the future. Lots of IFs in that statement but take it FWIW.
