- Georgia vs Penn State - Let's face it PSU, has been hot garbage this year. They lost to any team with a pulse and had the worst OL in the Big10 and they (7-5) were going to compete with Georgia (9-3)? Yeah ok....
- Arkansas vs KSU - The Big12 was exposed in bowls and Arkansas was gifted a putrid 6-6 KSU. Two of those wins against FCS schools. Since BB decided to talk a bunch of shit about how great the SEC is this year....how about those OOC losses to Toledo and Texas Tech AT HOME? Just shut up already.
- LSU vs Tech Tech - does this even need comment? 9-3 vs 7-5 Big 12 with one of the worst run defenses in the country.
- Auburn vs Memphis - Auburn beats an AAC opponent who fell apart at the end of the year and ended up losing four of their last five games.
- Mississippi State vs NC State - 9-3 vs 7-5. NC State is basically Minnesota with less defense.
- Texas A&M vs Louisville - An semi even matchup and it showed with Texas A&M losing to a 3rd place ACC - Atlantic squad. TAM was favored and lost.
- Alabama vs Michigan State - Goliath vs Team Horshoe-in-ass. All that dumb luck finally came home to roost and that secondary was exposed. Coker was 25/30 FFS.
- Ole Miss vs Ok State - Big12 whatever.
- Tennessee vs Northwestern - The other luckiest team in the Big10 with a freshman QB who cant throw ten yards downfield vs the best four loss team in the country. NW lost at Wisconsin, someone forgot to explain what a catch is to the refs. So this is where Wisconsin should have been while Northwestern was busy losing to USC.
- Michigan vs Florida - FEI says this was an even matchup. Michigan drops 41 (and very easily could have been more) on the vaunted Florida D. Takes care of business.

I thought 8 wins was the ceiling.
Hitting 10 wins in year one after that god forsaken shit show last year is grounds for claiming this was one of the greatest coaching jobs of all time.
Think about where we were pre-interim AD and pre-harbaugh hire. I'm sure you can all remember that feeling of hopelessness after the OSU game. The
What a difference a year makes.
|4 weeks 6 days ago||SEC Bowls||
It would be a major embarassment if the SEC hadn't gone 9-1 imo. Look at their matchups (TLDR warning):
Seriously. That lineup was tailor made for the SEC to almost run the table. The only impressive win is Alabama's because they just obliterated MSU. Pundits slobbering over the SEC for the bowl record this year need a reality check. Pit them in even games and I bet they go 4-6 easily.

Not to take too much away from the ass wuppin Stanford is laying, however, it seems like Iowa is just completely out of sync and killing themselves collectively. Pass completions are like precious commodities, stupid penalties galore, poor gap protection, and on and on.
Brutal to watch.
|5 weeks 1 day ago||The Best Part of This?||
OSU fans are just eating themselves alive watching a team they would beat 99 times out of 100 get pissed on in the final four and they're left out with a team that's probably better than last years.
|5 weeks 1 day ago||They could bitch about||
The fact they they only have 132 yards of total offense right now. Woof.
|5 weeks 1 day ago||ACC||
ACC is having a bit of a rough bowl season so far. If the refs don't gift that game to Duke they'd be 1-6 in games so far.
As it is, they are 2-5.

Wisconsin won this game three times over with all the absolute shit calls that went against them good lord.

Great write up and does a great job detailing how a recruiting trip is supposed to be. I would take issue with the "women everywhere" comment. I would simply say ....some schools are more equal than others.
Visiting LSU in that regard was not like visiting Stanford, North Carolina, or Michigan. It was....unique.
|8 weeks 6 days ago||Uh||
You mean the guy whose team has been living with a surgically implanted horeshoe up their collective ass all year? They are the living embodiment of "Sometimes its better to be lucky than good".
Urban is a better coach.
|9 weeks 5 days ago||Welp||
For all intents and purposes, forgiving a play that happens once in a lifetime...he did beat one of the rivals at home. Expectations met!
The improvement on both sides of the ball was somewhere between amazing and miraculous. If anything, the player improvement this year was so apparant it made me wonder just what exactly the Hoke staff was doing if anything. Sure the running game continues to suck but at least they learned how to pass pro and the pre injury defense was lights out. They need depth and a couple more years.
Expecting them to beat an OSU team that returned basically everyone from a NC squad in year one of what essentially amounted to starting over? Sounds reasonable to me! And make no mistake, without Harbaugh does Rudock transfer here? This unit goes 3-9 under Hoke and that's probably optimistic. He took that shitshow and they went 9-3.
|9 weeks 6 days ago||Yeah because injuries on||
Yeah because injuries on defense weren't exposed by Indiana. If your athletes get injured and your backups are newbs what exactly were you expecting? Come on......really?
Was Bolden supposed to have an out of body experience and not do the same shit he's been doing all year? The LBs are just flat out no athletic enough and spread tempo teams exposed them all day, every day.
|9 weeks 6 days ago||Amazing||
Reading these comments is like stepping into an alternate reality or back to anytime before 2008 really. Harbaugh in year one is a victim of his own early success. Was anybody seriously expecting wins THIS year over MSU and OSU? Only the ultimate homers were predicting 9-10 wins.
Did today suck absolute shit? Yes. Was OSU basically Indiana with a good defense? Yes. Will Harbaugh and crew learn from this? Do you seriously doubt it? The man squeezed everything out of this team. *Everything*
Let's put some context to all this and just how successful this season is. And before anyone brings up Hoke's first year, please remember that they were the luckiest team on earth with turnovers. The subsequent years were the ceiling of Hoke's squad's ability (8-5, 7-6 garbage). Michigan was 5-7 last year. And since people seem to have such short memories, let's keep in mind that we were a breath away from 3-9 and honestly deserved to be with losses to Rutgers (!!!), Minnesota (at home), and Maryland (at home).
So with that as the backdrop, Harbaugh came in with a new transfer QB, what has been a dumpster fire offense for years, and in year one he finishes 9-3 and the team is competitive in every game they play except for two quarters at the end of the year. UM was also near or at the bottom of turnovers this year so every victory was earned the hard way. The OSU/MSU streaks are frustrating of course but for crying out loud folks..... calm down. Have some faith.

either of these kids Pumphrey or Price that play RB for SDSU. Great moves and vision.

SDSU vs Nevada is also going :D
|13 weeks 3 days ago||Wow||
Lord have mercy on whatever SEC team gets TCU this year. They will drop 100 on them.
|17 weeks 1 day ago||Disagree||
I respectfully disagree with your last paragraph. Who, exactly, was Michigan going to bring in and right the ship? And let's be perfectly honest here, after that 5-7 shit show the last coaching staff put up, plus the attrition in the offseason (which would have been horrendous), 3-4 wins this year was a distinct possibility.
I believe there was no other hire, no other person who could possibly repair the damage to the brand immediately the way Harbaugh has. Hire lesser coaches for what? 1-3 million less who would need another 3-4 years to implement their "brand" of football? The fanbase was truly at the breaking point. Very few people were ready to stomach another rebuilding process. Just look at the attendance from last year and cut it in half and you'd have this year had they hired anyone else. The new coach would have had to rebuild the fanbase, not just the team.
Kids growing up now, and ones who will be recruits in a few years have never seen what most of us grew up loving. The brand means nothing to them because they've seen one good team...maybe two since they were born. A decade of irrelevance.
Had they gone for a smaller hire, the revenue streams may have been irevocably broken with any other hire while Michigan would have been set to rebuild again. Living in San Diego, I remember when I used to be able to walk into any sports store and buy Michigan gear. Now? You can't find it anywhere.
Harbaugh is worth whatever they're paying him and probably much more. For what he will and is bringing back to Michigan from a purely economic standpoint. Asses in the seats, merc sales, eyeballs to the television sets, and alumni pride (and donations).
|17 weeks 4 days ago||Um....||
What the hell is that guy smoking?
The same BYU squad that's averaging 30+ points per game (if you throw out Michigan) and against the toughest schedule in Div 1? What a strange post.
|17 weeks 5 days ago||That seems awful high||
I'm not sure if anyone else has noticed but Stanford has been blowing the doors off of their opponents since the Northwestern loss. That NW defense is absolutely legit and being on the road won't affect them at all imo. UM's kicker is also suspect while NW's is pretty good.
I would give Michigan a 3 point edge at home but that's about it. It's going to be close.
|18 weeks 2 days ago||But||
I understand the frustration with the earlier game time but given the potential weather conditions being forecast, it makes sense to me.
We're not talking about the potential for rain, we're talking about the potential for rain/lightning bands to start hitting the area that night. While the chance is remote, I would hate for the game to get cut short because of lightning.
|18 weeks 4 days ago||I want||
I want to believe the way you believe. I'm just not there yet.
Rudock had a great first half and managed the clock murder in the second. But before I go nuts and say OMG 10-2!!! I'd like to see him string together a few more games like that.

My last year at Michigan was $29,400 and that was in 1996. How expensive is it these days?

Carson has been and will probably always be the gold standard in late night. Letterman was always charming in a kind of "also ran" kind of way. Clearly a number two, but he did quite well for himself after Carson retired.
I could probably count on one hand the number of times I found his top ten list funny. But his guest interviews were good and sometimes great. I also liked his band. His comedy wasn't for everyone, but he entertained a hell of a lot of people.
I wish him the best and I'm sure we'll see him on the late night circuit doing interviews and whatnot.

Does Canham really need that much work? I'm sure it could use some love but holy shit. To think we used to lift weights in the basement and do drylands on the concourse. That S&C center is just absurd.
Kids are so spoiled these days.
That being said If they approve that Canham renovation I may have to travel back just to see it when it's done. It does look amazing on paper.

A thousand times this. Get out there, meet people, network, start your company or fund whatever bright guy/idea shop you are interested in. The most powerful relationships I have in business all came after school, not during.

I remember swimming at the old IC field house and immediately thought....they are holding the B10 champs THERE!?!?
They must have finished the renovations. Still not as nice as Canham though. :)
