- The school president cares not for your ball-throwy games
- The AD is inept, except at collecting money, which is about to change
- There are major cultural issues with the athletic department
- The new coach would need complete autonomy to do what needs to be done, he won't have it

"Most of the Blue Devils didn't own a tie. Even those who did didn't have anyone at home to show them how to tie it. Some of the guys' dads came to games to cheer and brag about their boys. But of the 49 players, only eight had full-time fathers."
God that is just so unbelievably sad.

But what makes it so remarkable is he is doing behind the worst OL in the NFL

Just said the stupidest fucking thing I've ever heard. The pressure is on MSU!?

I can't even enjoy their loss because Winston is such a shitbag. The term insufferable comes to mind.

Arizona prior to RR : 4-8
1st Year: 8-5 + win over #10 USC
2nd Year: 8-5 + win over #5 Oregon
3rd Year: 5-0 + win over #2 Oregon
Sure looks like he is primed for three consecutive seasons better than Hoke's.
Funny how he's been able to replicate his success everywhere he's been EXCEPT HERE.

The Shane Morris episode was an absolute fucking disgrace. The likes of which I have never witnessed before.
Hoke should be fired immediately.

Harbaugh has tasted success in the NFL and if things don't work out in SF and he has a spectacularly shitty season, he will have 6-7 teams driving the Brinks truck up his driveway to take over their franchise. For an ego like his, I can't imagine him being satisfied as Super Bowl runner up. Especially after Pete Carroll just got one.
He's not coming here. Not even under the premise of "rebuilding" the program and then heading back to the NFL later. He is there, he can coach, and he's better than 85% of the coaches currently in the league. One more time....with feeling, he's NOT coming here.

Prevent this from being a top flight job imo:

He looks better than Morris.
|13 weeks 9 hours ago||It's Been Said Before||
But I'll say it again:
We basically have the opposite of Rich Rod now. A total dumpster fire of awfulness on offense and a good defense.
So frustrating to see as a fan, is it fucking impossible for us to have nice things and get a coaching crew that can manage to do BOTH at the same time?

I finally snapped and reached acceptance after this year's ND game.

That swimming locker room.....is epic. Light years ahead of what we have now.
|18 weeks 6 days ago||This Thread||
Started well with the OP. Then died a quick death when Trolly McTrollerson pulled the man card ....card.
To address the troll. Michigan has quite a few swimmers at the US Senior Nationals. This is notable because we routinely field one of the best collegiate swim teams in the country and have done so since 1982. In much the same manner that I now pay attention to Jacksonville to see if Denard gets some carries, I will watch swimming over golf to watch Michigan swimmers swim fast.
If you can't appreciate the tradition of Michigan's non revenue sports excelling and think that watching those athletes over pro golfers is somehow effeminate..... I'm not sure what to tell you.

Absolutely heartbreaking news this morning. Arguably the best hitter in the game. He conducted himself with class and humility, took ridiculous amounts of time to chat with fans and sign autographs, stayed with one team his whole career and was an incredible mentor to SDSU players as a manager.
Nobody meant more to the San Diego community and he is gone much much too soon.
|30 weeks 3 days ago||Players know the risk of||
Players know the risk of injury when they sign up to play football or any other sport for that matter. I sustained a permanent injury while swimming at Michigan which now provides me with the gift of chronic headaches (especially in cold weather). Shit happens. I wouldn't expect the school to cover me for life. I would simply expect them to make every reasonable effort to fix the problem (which they did).
Theoretically, watch how fast high schools drop football if the proposed medical coverage rules went into effect. Coverage for life? As an AD I would just drop the program.
The *only* exception to this rule would be if the athelete sustained an injury which will prevent them from getting work or performing manual labor jobs. I.E. they are disabled.

"It's 2014 people, just shut your mouth no matter what you feel or believe."
That was sarcasm right? Or just in the context of being a bigot....I hope?

You'd had to be some special kind of arrogant asshole to consent to allowing THAT to be recorded.
Since Don Sterling left San Diego he has been relatively quiet for 30 years. I am calling 100% bullshit on the consent and you can bet she has nothing in writing to say otherwise.
|35 weeks 4 days ago||Exactly. That said, is it||
That said, is it possible there are a few schools that treat their athletes like total shit? Sure.
Are the *vast* majority of schools providing their athletes everything they need food wise? Absolutely. I am glad to see walk ons getting added but I call bullshit on any scholarship athlete like Shabazz saying that he is going to bed hungry. Plan your meals better.
West Quad had everything we needed and no one frowned if we took food back to our rooms. We'd load up on bananas, mini cereal boxes, fruits, snacks, etc. I probably spent less than $20 a week on food and drinks outside the meal plan. I would wager most D1 schools are similar even for their non revenue sports.

WHY would you go anywhere in PB to watch a Michigan game!? That is total Brosef territory. Giovanni's off Balboa has always been the spot (or at least used to be) for Michigan fans to catch the game.
