This defense is championship level. Every time we need a winning play, they deliver - every time. So many heroes to celebrate. Josiah Stewart had a career game. Huge plays by Sabb, Q Johnson, and J Wallace (multiple by Josh) show you just how deep this defense is. They are a special unit, and it will be a privilege to watch them one more time!!

Played as good as anybody could have asked. Finally Michigan didnt allow a running quarterback to get the best of them!

A wise man (actually numerous wise men and wise women) once said "defense wins championships".
I'm not nearly dumb enough to disagree with their wisdom.

If you watch the final play in stop action, you'll see that one of the keys to the play was Josaiah Stewart taking a running start at offensive tackle JC Latham.
Stewart hits Latham so hard that Latham is lifted off the ground and as he's falling back, Jalen Milroe's right knee hits the back of Latham's left leg. As Milroe falls into the waiting arms of Derrick Moore, Stewart also falls on Milroe. Milroe is stopped short of the goal line and Latham is seen clutching his left leg.

Bad snap on the final play doomed the timing of the run. It was there if Milroe had a good snap and could hit the run where it was intended. Would have been tough but thereās a path with the widest guy going so far upfield. pic.twitter.com/khi61nHDV1

This year we have a Better defense than the 97 team

I won't go that far, but I did tell my son that watching the defense swarm Milroe over and over reminded me a lot of what it felt like to watch the '97 team: calm, even when the other team had the ball.

Shout out to the Rod Moore ankle tackle on Milroe's big run in OT - they score right there, otherwise.

And to Josh Wallace. On the next to last play in OT, the WR pushes off and makes the catch and he is able to recover and make the stop at the 3 setting up the final play.

Minter is and was the mvp! I donāt know that AI could have drew up a better gameplan. Mcgregor, Graham, Grant and Jenkins played like they had rockets shoved up their keesters. What a dominate defensive performance for the ages. Imagine the shock of being a Bama/sec fan and watching all your team speed get the shit kicked out of them.

The whole defense is amazing, but that d-line is something special

Agree! My only question is on the technique they used to contain Milroe -- is it a "mush rush" (as Brian and others call it) or a "mosh rush," as Seth has noted a few times on the podcast this year. The first couple of times I thought it was a mis-pronunciation, but after more thought, I'm betting that Seth did extensive research into the technique and will soon tell us that it was developed in 1949 when some coach returning from WWII modeled his defensive line schema after a skirmish in Mosh, Sweden, or some such thing.

Beast mode performance. The sacks, the consistency, the patience, the clutchness. Just an all time performance in the Rose Bowl.
So glad I was able to witness it.
