I was thinking Wisconsin was gonna get rolled till I realized Daniels had opted out. Feels like LSU was a turbo-Denard team with how much they relied on Daniels so Wisconsin might actually win this one

Gonna be funny to watch Oregon put 70 on Liberty in 30 mins

Rod Gilmore noting that Wisconsin has more opt-outs than LSU and acting like therefore it's surprising that LSU is struggling as though the Jayden Daniels opt-out isn't worth 10 Wisconsin opt-outs.

Dumbest comment I’ve ever heard watching the Wisconsin game after Wisky just scored.

“That play isn’t designed to be a TD play but missed tackles opened it up.”

Isn’t the point of every play to score unless you’re A) trying to run out the clock or B) trying line up field position for a FG. Only exception is if you’re Iowa and you’re trying to get good position for your All Star punter.

guys, Wiscy suuuucks. They are beating #13 LSU 14-0. I don't know who's out and all that, but I'm watching this and trying not to get excited seeing the SEC look like doodoo once again. Waiting till 5 is gonna take forever

this wisconsin team making a new year’s day bowl game is the best justification for killing the bowl system you will find. i wouldn’t cross the street to watch this crap.

The Outback/HOF bowl is the Reliaquest bowl now? What even is that?

LSU going with the rare purple jerseys, the game looks good.

Also a good looking game sartorially is the Iowa-TN game, and it's a good thing the uniforms look good, because Iowa won't.

Confessing that I'm interested to see how Tennessee's not-super-complicated but explosive spread-it-out offense matches up with Iowa's not-super-complicated but dominant defense.

Gilmore acting like the pass was more than just "a little" behind. The call by Custer was good. What is with Gilmore. This guy, I tell ya.

(BTW, I can't believe how much Custer sounds like Mark Jones who used to be paired with Gilmore.)

I was thinking about this earlier today, and remembering the 2003 season. Remember that one?

Michigan took down a very good Ohio State team and went to to the Rose Bowl that year as Big 10 champions. They had already blown their chances at a national title shot by losing close games to Iowa and Oregon earlier that season. But everyone was so pumped about that Rose Bowl game. And there were no opt-outs (that I recall), as such a thing was almost unheard of at the time. And that game (even though we lost) MEANT SOMETHING.

I’m not so old and & set in my ways to understand that things change, and many things change for the better. But damn. I often miss college football the way it was.

But all that said? I couldn’t be more excited about today’s Rose Bowl, of course!
