It is amazing how brave one can be in anonymity. Just asking a question, that's all. I am not a troll and certainly not clueless. I brought this topic up b/c Brian linked to someone who speculated on that.

Don't understand the point about Clemson.If they are doing better at player development than average, how are they a poorly coached team?
|3 years 26 weeks ago||I couldn't agree with you||
I couldn't agree with you more,especially in your comments about Denard, recruiting and his press conference. Sorry, but he does not strike me as a particularly astute football mind, and quite frankly I am getting tired of the "loves Michigan" and "toughness" themes. These to me are swipes at RR. I was very encouraged by the defensive hires but I am not impressed by Borges and where he wants to take the offense. I think we are going to regress further and only be competitive in teh Big Ten but not nationally. I still think Dan Mullen would have been the best hire,someone younger, more dynamic and more in-tune with where college football is headed.

Most likeable is easily Mark Richt who I think is one of the good guys. Best coach to me is Saban. I think Mullen is a nice combo of likeable and good and the man I wish was coaching Michigan.

Thanks for the tip. I would have simply e-mailed him directly if I had known.

You get points for responding to posts. I never started a post. I know alot of this has been talked about.

Doesn't seem to be over for Brian as he still has alot to say about DB in regards to the way he handled the coaching hire.

I am sorry if I am not drinking the Kool aid yet. I really want Hoke to succeed but i wasn not as impressed as everyone else at his press conference. People criticzed RR for being inarticulate-Hoke to me was extremely inarticulate. He seemed to of course say all the right things but to me it was very scripted. I am also not impressed at the idea of Borges as coordinator. I am cautiosly pessimistic.

I agreee completely. Initially I thought DB liked RR and the direction he was taking the program. Now I am wondering if he had every intention of firing him this year unless he did spectacularly well. He never gave him a vote of confidence. The fact that he hired someone who is going to take the program in a completely different direction only confirms my suspicion.

Would anyone besdies me be disappointed if this is where he ends up? I could accept him landing at Clemson, but Maryland?
|3 years 35 weeks ago||What bothers me is that they||
What bothers me is that they wrote anything. If you don't have any solid information, you should say nothing. Cryptic messages only lead to alot of worthless speculation, which is what they claim to want to rebut but instead engender.
|3 years 35 weeks ago||If that were the case though,||
If that were the case though, don't you think he would have immediately dismissed RR after the OSU game in order to get the new team in place as quickly as possible, and don't you think that, if he had decided shortly after taking over as AD, that he would have made some contact with JH during the season and started the process then? I just think, on a credibility and ethical plane, that if he had decided he wants his man in place, that he would have told RR this earlier and allowed him to move on. Instead, RR is busting his tail trying to sell the Michigan program and get his players ready for a bowl game. There is something decpetive and distasteful about all of this if you are indeed correct. I also think the players, being young and impressionable, are going to be disgusted if they find out that DB made up his mind awhile back to fire RR but kept up a charade of indecision.
|3 years 35 weeks ago||cc:my interpretation of rivals||
I am a member of the Fort at rivals. My interpretation of ITF is that RR is most likely gone if DB can come to terms with JH. I also think that is how most are interpreting it. The Wolverine IMO tends to be anti-RR, for what it is worth. I personally find it hard to believe that DB has already made a decision to can RR. IMO he has a duty and obligation to tell the man most affected by this decision, that of course being RR. I also think that if he had made a decision that in this day and age it would be impossible to keep quiet.I tend to take him at his word and think he truly has not made up his mind. He probably also has a back-up plan in place if he decides after sitting down with RR and comes away unsatisfied with how RR is running program

I think that what DB is putting him and the program through right now is wrong. He should make a decision and either fire him or stand by him.
|3 years 46 weeks ago||Schafer||
I always felt that Schafer was a scape goat, and I was very disappointed when he was fired. I also was disappointed when GRob was hired given his failure at Syracuse and the fact that he was a poor recruiter which concerned me given Michigan's lack of defensive talent. However, there is a logical disconnect going on here. Does RR ignore the defense as some claim, or is he dictating the defense to his DC? It seems to me that it can't be both.
