Photo credit on the YouTube picture is for Danny Moloshok, class of 2004, or something like that. Just thought people wanted to know that.

The most recent model was this: The form was online only. You entered your preferred games in order of preference. They did not package the OSU tickets with other games anymore. It was simply done as a lottery. All entries had to be submitted by a certain date and then they did a random drawing from there. (At least, so they said.)
Even without a likelihood or guarantee of getting an OSU or MSU ticket, you could still get a good Big Ten game at face value, which is not always easy, or possible, on StubHub. One of my issues is also that I get a group of six tickets together, which is much harder to do on StubHub. Lastly, it was used as a pre-sale service. You did not have to sign on to mgoblue.com with the rest of the public when tickets went on sale.
They are making an obviously bogus claim that they are discontinuing the program because it's no longer "exclusive." They offered something (as explained above) that is not available to the gernal public. They have not explained the real reason, so I don't know what it is.
My best guess would be that they have to buy a certain amount of tickets from the Athletic Department and then they eat the cost of whatever they can't sell. They probaby were not able to sell out their crap game tickets and were losing money. And with a season coming up with no ND, no MSU, no OSU, and no night game, there probably weren't going to be a lot of people even looking for any kind of ticket.
I have sent them an email expressing my displeasure. I hope there is enough outrage that they will reverse course. Judging by the lack of comments on this thread, I'm not optimistic.

By grammar circles, do you mean message boards on the Internet? I'm unfamiliar with any U.S. style guides that say to put punctuation outside quotation marks. That is in contrast to the Oxford comma, which some style guides explicity* say to not use, despite its omission being a huge affront to common sense and decency.

the period goes inside the quotation marks.

If we had this kind of effort going forward, I think we could consider this a turnaround heading into next year.
I am greatly concerned by what we have seen in the first half of the year and will continue to be concerned if we resume losing to bad teams or losing to good teams by double digit goals.
However, it is incredibly unfair to hold the 5-year total record against JP. I think we can forgive the terrible records from the first three years when we still didn't have D-1 athletes, can't we?

that both teams would have to agree. But they also said it was probably not as hard for the players as it was for us.

No Jackson or King again, but the offense still looks good. Maryland can't be happy with its defense. Logan with some good saves and Lott holding his own on FOs. And good rides for Michigan.

To your last couple points, I can't believe how many shots they give up either on the crease or from the middle of the field just a few feet out. And no one is ever punished with a hit for it because Michigan isn't even in the area...mostly because they walked away from their man or are just plain caught ball watching. It's amazing Logan kept it as low scoring as he did.

"Wide open shot in the middle of the crease" was a theme for Marist.

It was bound to be tough without the top two on attack.

No one said we should be outrecruiting the top tier of lacrosse. Most of us are saying we should be better than a team that loses to Dartmouth at home. So, glad to see we are all in agreement.
|48 weeks 2 days ago||Yes, except||
John Beilein has a long history of coaching success at the D-1 level and got us to the championship game in recent memory. So it's actually quite different in that sense.
|48 weeks 2 days ago||We shouldn't be a "no-name" is the point||
I think it is reasonable to believe that Michigan in its 5th year should expect to be at least as good as BU and Richmond which are also new programs. UM has gotten good recruits. We are a big draw for kids from talent-rich areas. It's not like our team is all from Michigan and Ohio.
|48 weeks 2 days ago||I hate Dave Brandon, but||
my understanding is that the team jumped from club to D-1 without a transition because some of the funding was contingent on such a jump. It came from families of the club players who wanted their kids to play D-1. I do not have first-hand knowledge of that, so I'm sorry for spreading rumors if I am way off.
In hindsight, hiring an experienced D-1 coach would have been preferable, but personally I was fine with giving JP a shot. He got his shot. It's time to move on after this year.

A series on the athletic department? I'm getting my popcorn ready, and spreading it out on Sauce Castillo's counter.
Also, my issue with the Dave Brandon obit was that it was not mean enough. Also not timely enough, but whatever.

I think Columbus is a nice enough town and Ohio isn't really that different as a state than Michigan.
Apparently we need an mgo version of this:

Also, he didn't ice it with the FT. Tennessee still had a shot to win. Even if he hit both, he wouldn't have iced anything other than ensuring we wouldn't lose in regulation.

It's an NCAA record, at least according to Wiki. I guess the ND-USC game was not an NCAA event.

Poor Walter Johnson. He never gets any run support.
|4 years 42 weeks ago||I'm with M-Wolverine||
If it's so obvious that premium games are worth $125 or more, why is the MSU game a mere $95 this year? I assume this means that the OSU and/or ND tickets next year will be no less than $125 now and absolutley no one will be upset by this.
|4 years 44 weeks ago||Well technically||
as I'm sure MaizeAndBlueWahoo knows, the rule is you have to have at least three players on your offensive half and and at least four players on your defensive half. Generally this is the three attackmen on the offensive half and the three defenders plus the goalie on the defensive half.
The exceptions are if you don't gain an advantage by having too few players on the field. In other words, if you only have 9 players on the field then no one cares that you only have two attackmen on the offensive half. This happens whenever you do a sub on the fly for a fleeting moment. Also, if you happen to have, I think, three guys or more serving penalties then I think the rules get a little funky, but that's pretty rare.
