Great piece of writing. For a minute I felt like I was back in West Quad 39 years ago.

You just knew he would effing miss that extra point
|5 weeks 3 days ago||Not a random guy||
I'm not naming names, but my friend is not a "random guy" attending practice. He is well connected with folks in the bball program. He also says that Moritz Wagner is the most competitive guy on the team. He hates to lose at anything.
|5 weeks 3 days ago||Beilein||
A friend of mine got to attend M basketball practice a week or so ago and he was talking to Beilein about the national championship game and the terrible call on Trey's block. Beilein quipped "I guess we didn't have enough prostitutes"
|6 weeks 4 days ago||Cut and paste job||
The interview with Harbaugh was totally cut and pasted from the post game press conference. Brandy just overdubbed his voice asking other people's questions.
|6 weeks 4 days ago||Moeller||
I rode the elevator up to my seats yesterday with coach Moeller, he looked really fragile and kind of out of it. His one bad night seems trivial compared to what today's coaches get away with.

I heard it loud and clear in row 87, but the band was facing our side.

Goal USA! 1-1
|7 weeks 3 days ago||I'd give it an 85||
Its not dad rawk but its got a good beat and you can dance to it
|7 weeks 3 days ago||Stream it||
I was in Bangkok last year and was able to stream the Michigan v Rutgers game on my iPad ( in hind sight I wish I hadn't). Wifi in big hotels has plenty of bandwidth to get a good connection.
|8 weeks 3 days ago||Tony Franklin||
I remember Tony Franklin kicking 60 yard field goals in warm ups and thinking we were going to get beat. What a laugher that game turned into. . . at least what I remember of it - there was a lot of peppermint schnopps flowing in my section of the end zone
|8 weeks 3 days ago||Schlissel grining ear to ear||
I walked past President Schlissel at half time of the BYU game and he was grining from ear to ear. Nothing like seeing all of those tough decisions paying off big time.

As a fellow 56 year old I would say all of those songs have been overplayed at sporting events to the point that I completely tune them out. I used to love welcome to the jungle but now it's just another annoying tune I have to shout over if I actually want to talk about the most recent play with the person next to me.
|9 weeks 4 days ago||It was played||
Definitely played it each of the last 2 weeks, both near the start of the game.Even though most of the music they have played the last two weeks is stuff I like to listen to (Classic blue hair rock and roll), I would rather just hear the band. Since when did Foghat's slow ride pump up a crowd?
|10 weeks 5 days ago||Madonna went to U of M||
Madonna was in my freshman class at U of M, but quit to make it in " music"

I wondered who "Burger" was in Bacon's book - makes sense.

The lions D looks awful.
|13 weeks 1 day ago||Great writing||
Between this article and Harbaugh's press conference, next Thursday night can't come fast enough. Time to expunge 7 years of mediocrity!
|13 weeks 1 day ago||Still think it's Angelos||
It isn't downtown, but I know the owners of Angelos go to Greece every August.
|16 weeks 1 day ago||Nasty OSU song||
Yes - when I was a student here in the late 70's the UM band had a fairly raunchy version of the OSU fight song.
|30 weeks 3 days ago||Spike's recovery||
I saw Spike riding an excersize bike at Medsport this am while I was rehabbing my torn patellar tendon. I was pleasantly surprised that he was riding like nothing was wrong.
|31 weeks 6 days ago||No pics||
He was traveling with his girlfriend and 10 month old son so I didn't take any pictures

|36 weeks 1 hour ago||DOs in residency||
The deck is definitely stacked against DOs getting residency slots at a place like U of M, but it is not as stacked as it used to be. It also totally depends on the speciaty. Dermatology or Orthopedics - very little chance as most competitive. Pediatrics - definite chance. We occasionaly take DO candidates in our program and in today's world I see no difference in how well they turn out at the end of residency.
|36 weeks 5 hours ago||Match Day Trauma||
My match year here at U of M about 10 people somehow got left out of the match (some sort of computer glitch). At the end of the ceremony where everbody gets their results, these 10 people don't have any results. They had to rerun the entire match program adding in these 10 folks to see where they would have gone and then they had to pay hospitals to fund their slots. What a cluster fuck
|38 weeks 1 hour ago||I agree||
I would give Max a fifth year. He is way better than Doyle and Donnal on the offensive end.
|40 weeks 2 days ago||Bravo!||
It was difficult to relive all of that, but it was necessary. Now I need some bourbon and some blood pressure medicine to keep from having a stroke.
|41 weeks 2 days ago||21 years with no sick days||
I went 21 years with no sick days until I tore my patellar tendon and had it surgically repaired the day after xmas. I missed the next 4 weeks - not fun.
