Mike Weber Names New Top Five
Nuss needs to get busy. USC was added.
ESPN 300 RB Mike Weber says his new top 5 (no order) is Michigan State, Michigan, Ohio State, Wisconsin and USC. pic.twitter.com/VXCNO7lDCF

@Okrstevski20 I would say Michigan, but we'll see what this USC visit does. That's a cool place to go for Michigan kids

I think he meant they didn't think the distance was a big deal. RoJo may have gone to Muskegon but he's no Miss North Carolina either, he probably understands Cali is a couple states away.
That is absolutely true - two notable recruits in the past 7-10 years decided to go to USC over a local school. And no schools east of the Mississippi have ever recruited successfully in CA.

All I was saying is that it is less common than a kid sticking around at home. And both of the guys you mentioned noted that moving away was tough initially.
Kid was JUST there. I doubt if anyone visits the USC campus and doesn't get excited.
She would just looooove it if you came to USC.
but if you just want to take a walk around Compton, I might declare that as unwise decision.
why a parent would want to send their child there given the location of the school. Its not exactly surrounded by good neighborhoods. Add in the fact that the Colisuem is located in a bad area and I would much rather attend UCLA if I was going to school in the LA area.
Visited family in LA a couple years back with the wife. We spent a day walking around UCLA and then over to USC. Will never understand why anyone would pick USC over UCLA. UCLA is a gorgeous school, down the hill from Bel Air better academically in most cases, and home games played in the Rose Bowl vs. a nice campus (but not UCLA), worse location, academics good but not great, and home games played in the Coliseum.
That said, give me that girl in the pic, I might be a Trojan!
The acedemics at USC is actually one of the best you can get, it is also ranked ahead of University of Michigan, which i dont think anyone here would call just "good".
If so...you really think the area around USC scares you?
It's home, but with palm trees.
Everybody's exaggerating how bad the area is. Just don't go a mile south or east if poorer neighborhoods bother you. There's a pretty tight bubble all around campus patrolled by security, and students have no problem walking around at night.
As for UCLA, Westwood is appealing for tourists, but it tends to lose its luster once you live in LA. It's actually quite boring for a major university campus.
No they are not, I have lived in LA my entire life. Everyone that is a native knows to stay away from there after dark. It is in the middle of blood/crip territory and they don't mess around. Thre was a murder of a USC grad student yesterday in off-campus housing. In 2012, two Chinese grad students were murdered during a robbery near campus.
Or how many people gets mudered in the neighborhoods of the KIDS that go to Cass Tech?
My point is, it's nothing new.
All of these message board posters want to go "OMG! HOW COULD YOU GO TO USC!? It's in the middle of the ghetto!." (sic - kinda)
But these kids that we're talking about are many times from the same environment.
We're not talking about some rich, private school kid from the suburbs. We're talking about kids who go to school through metal detectors.
There are Crips and Bloods and gang violence in their neighborhoods too...hell, some of them are very close to it.
If we were talking upper middle class/upper class backgrounds and neighborhoods, then some of the shock and awe may be warranted, but that's not the case.
Most of these kids (not all) that go to CT or any Detroit Public School are going to notice more of a difference in the weather, girls and trees of SoCal than the violence or rough areas.
And it's not like everyone who goes to USC is from the "hood," the pull their fair share of spoiled rich kids from SoCal, so they have to be doing something and have some level of security. I've never been, but I did spend much of my youth in Detroit...I can certainly see the appeal of USC, even over UCLA.
and it was easily the best decision of my life. she loves michigan now, but we had to work that out when we were courtin'!
- not sarcastic. my mgowife walks on water as far as i am concerned. and while i don't post pics like mgrowold does (tastefully) we were watching our old wedding video last week for our anniversary with all the kids, and i couldn't help but repeatedly mention her beauty is/was phenomenol. now couched with 'for our age', but still a blessing. and of course as we get older we all realize character is far more important than beauty, but beauty is certainly a bonus.
I am with you there Quiverfull. I am very fortunate to have been married 25 years and we have three beautiful Daughters. My wife is from Calli Colombia (moved to USA age 3) and I am still amazed she chose me and she is still stunning. Like yourself I look at the video now a CD of our marriage and am just like-damn.
But does she brew beer?
1. have contemplated grape growing on some of the south facing slopes as we are in a reasonably good climate to give that a shot. some mgovino would be very nice.
2. beloved bride (and i) is quite busy with our children, their schooling, sports, the farm, etc. so i wouldn't want to add that to her plate. if we grow grapes, i'll do the added labor.
thanks. consider yourself e-hugged (in a completely platonic, non-threatening and non-suggestive manner). i think we all would agree you are the favorite mgogirl-posters.
. Did she use a straight-razor or a multi-blade dispoable to shave that ball?

I just found out all of the palm trees in LA were planted. They aren't native to the area.
All unnatural. Blows my mind.
( • )( • )
As a minor note, there is actually a species - just one, if I rememeber correctly - of palm tree that is native to the Los Angeles area, although few of them actually grow in the city itself (you have to go out into the mountains to find them, usually near watershed areas). You're basically correct though as far as I know - virtually everything that lines streets and adorns yards in and around Los Angeles was not something you would have found there before development, if you will. It is, at heart and before a city was there, a semi-arid grassland with sage scrub and the odd tree grove.
Go out and win 10 games this year and we will no longer have these conversations.
Go out and lose six games again and this shit will continue to haunt us.
Let's be done with mediocrity.
I'm over it already.
Thank you. Have a nice night.
I think he knows M is home, but he wanted to feel more love from the staff after Harris the RB from KY got all the love.
I hope he ends this soon and commits.
Who would WIAB predict?
So if we goes to USC we essentially trade Mike for Isaac. If he comes here we get both. So feels like playing with house money.
#Michigan has not yet received clarity on RB Ty Isaac waiver/eligibility. Could push close to season kickoff, I’m told

with Ty Isaac. . .he'll give him the lowdown . .
