I would like to agree, but apparently,  he has support of 13 schools and disapproval of 1. Michigan doesn't control his future,  but if Michigan can bury the BIG is proof of others cheating and how mundane this actually is then maybe some can be swayed to oust him. Let me be clear, I want Petitti to get a nuke shoved up his ass while he sits at a table with Ryan Day and Schiano and they all get vaporized. And Yhamel could serve drinks as the nuke goes off.

File it, let it pass and in the end the big10 lets michigan go with “time served” for the 3 games earlier this season. I can dream

Considering the fact that the B1G commish only can levy 2 games on his own, and anything above that requires the other "committee" (Unsure of name) that has not 1, but TWO (2!!!) PSU grads on it - it is clear this is a witch hunt.

Pretty classy to announce this decision while the plane was IN THE AIR…

Desmond stood up to Thamel on ESPN.  He pointed out that the fig leaf of letting Harbaugh coach during the week is bullshit.  JH makes his money on game day.

Let’s lawyer up and win in the courtroom AND on the gridiron!  Go Bluuuuuue!!

After Michigan wins the B1G championship game, I'd love to see the players celebrate with the fans, boycott the trophy presentation stage, and just send Warde up to get the trophy.

Someone posted this idea on Twitter, but I actually don’t hate it if we don’t prevail in litigation:

If we go 12-0, simply do not attend or play in the game.

  1. We’re 100% in the CFP at that point anyways. No 12-0 Michigan team will ever be left out.
  2. Everyone for all eternity will know Michigan are the rightful B1G champions. I know the conference title was historically an important goal for the kids, but I’m guessing making this statement in defense of their head coach (and still having a run at the much bigger CFP title) will feel much more important.
  3. It will be an enormous black eye for both the conference and, more importantly, the commissioner in particular. It will infuriate his corporate sponsors, including Fox, and be pretty devastating for his future at the conference.

It may sound a bit dramatic, but we don’t need to kick the shit out of Iowa again to know we’re champions. So, fuck ‘em and hit them where it hurts.

Spike the trophy and walk away with double birds outstretched.

But honestly I like the idea of ignoring the trophy presentation and just celebrating with players, families, and fans. Wait until dumbfuck Petitti walks off stage and then go do an interview.

There is a federal court in Ann Arbor.  I don't know how the procedure works but only one judge sits there and she has two degrees from Michigan.

This seems to have been ready to go, which tells me the reasoning the B1G used was already thought of and acted against.  I feel confident it will be successful.

In any case, the relationship between the B1G and UM is irrevocably harmed.  The B1G just severed contact with one of the two premier athletic departments of it 14.  Lets be honest - the other 12 are nothing more than hangers on...

Sam Webb put it great over the past week.

The Big Ten members are not your family. They are not your brothers in arms. They are business partners, and when you have one or more business partners who stab you in the back, what do you do? You go find new business partners. Even if Michigan comes out of the other end of this relatively unscathed, there’s no reason to think the other schools won’t act on this again in the future.

Loyalty and tradition are relics of the past, at this point. It’s time to start considering life outside of the Big Ten. In the long run, schools, like Northwestern, Purdue, and Indiana may have screwed themselves out of a crap ton of money, all in the name of spiting Harbaugh. If Michigan leaves, the next time their TV contract is renewed, their revenue share is going way, WAY down.

Even if Michigan stays they can negotiate with a foot out the door and get a much better and fairer deal. Which I'm against. If we make $90m now, get rid of the dead weight and build a very select conference with only similar brands and values and it'll be close to $200m a year. Then you can buy a team and not even the SEC can compete.

I think the pathforward is ultimately Pettiti is canned and the Big Ten apologizes for this lynch mob justice. Then Michigan probably pays a fine and apologizes for Stallions. As long as Pettiti is there with MSU and OSU whispering in his ear its not getting better

Who is going to can him?  You have a majority of the league who led this and want this to happen. He is not getting fired barring something like Michigan announcing it is looking around and Fox Sports coming in and saying you fucked this up and our contract is void if this happens

MY two cents. TP knew what he was going to do from the get go. He gave Harbaugh the suspension to make the rest of big ten happy,  knowing full well Michigan would file an injunction and must likely get it. That way it looks like he was doing something.
