Mo Clarett comes out and nails what the investigation is about
I think MC nails what this whole thing is about. The money machine is upset about Jim’s comments about revenue sharing. Good to see a Buckeye come out in support!

Ahhhhhh. Dammit he nailed it. Something was just missing from all of this noise. The blank is being filled in, just the excuse necessary to go after him.

By the most unlikely of sources, hard to type with my jaw sitting on my keyboard.
November 2nd, 2023 at 5:50 PM ^
I hate to applaud a Buckeye, but 👏👏👏
November 2nd, 2023 at 6:52 PM ^
JH has been putting his thumb in the NCAA's eye for the benefit of student athletes for awhile. Don't think they have forgotten about him pushing for the one transfer no questions asked so kids don't have to make shit up rule. Also the camp tour to get as many kids exposure to all levels of college football as possible. You go against the machine on behalf of kids the machine does not forget.
November 2nd, 2023 at 4:53 PM ^
Man. He's not going to be allowed in Columbus again.
Thanks Mo.
I hope we get more athletes pushing this forward. Harbaugh is pro-players. NCAA is anti-players.
November 2nd, 2023 at 6:08 PM ^
NCAA is anti-players
Boz was right!!
November 2nd, 2023 at 6:56 PM ^
There is a documentary that escapes my mind as to it's title. The documentary talked about how the NCAA was originally about the players, but around WW2ish started showing its colors. An example was used about a football player had hurt(blown out?) his knee, and had asked the NCAA for help. NCAA declined. I know I'm not giving this doc any justice by this superficial paragraph I wrote, but yeah. The NCAA has been bad for a long long time.
November 2nd, 2023 at 4:53 PM ^
That fact that that guy is more correct than those that call themselves "journalists" is scary
November 2nd, 2023 at 5:12 PM ^
You would think organizations which pat themselves on the back for their investigative "prowess" might have connected these dots.
And all these coaches, AD's and school presidents who claim their first priority is the student athlete actually genuflect at the alter of money. What they see as their money. Who else but Harbaugh is out there suggesting that the players should be cut in on the TV deal? And for that heresy Harbaugh must pay. Death by media frenzy.
I am surprised to say this but all due credit to Maurice Clarett.
November 2nd, 2023 at 6:13 PM ^
He’s been to prison. He’s seen some shit. He made osu millions and millions and they turned their back on him. I still remember when he stripped the interception from the Miami (ytm) defender and recovered it in the NC game.
November 2nd, 2023 at 4:53 PM ^
I support this speculation, but I’d need much more than the currently available information to use a term other than speculation.
November 2nd, 2023 at 4:54 PM ^
Just pretend he started the tweet with "sources say."
November 2nd, 2023 at 10:15 PM ^
Made me spit out my beer there my man. Fantastic!
November 2nd, 2023 at 6:07 PM ^
Google "critical thinking skills."
You need a refresher.
November 2nd, 2023 at 4:53 PM ^
I must say this is not at all what I expected. A refreshing perspective considering the source.
November 2nd, 2023 at 4:54 PM ^
Meh, the NCAA hasn't done anything bad thus far regarding sign gate. It's the media doing it all
November 2nd, 2023 at 4:55 PM ^
Fair point. I also sort of relate this to the other still ongoing investigation, though.
November 2nd, 2023 at 6:57 PM ^
With all due respect it's not a good point. Have you ever seen an investigation with this many "leaks"? The NCAA is doing everything they can to do as much damage as possible to Michigan and JH knowing that Michigan and JH can't respond under the rules. This is a hit job by those in the NCAA to discredit one of their many critics in how they screw "labor" which are the players. This kids are the reason we watch, but those that make the money want to stick them. Not saying that if CS broke rules as a member of the program UM should not be punished but the shit they are talking about is way out of bounds
November 2nd, 2023 at 7:33 PM ^
Preach. Stay angry.
November 2nd, 2023 at 9:33 PM ^
I would love to see Harbaugh file a defamation suit against the NCAA stating that he was being retaliated against due to his statements about sharing revenue with the players. Force THAT discussion onto center state. Make the NCAA deny it.
November 2nd, 2023 at 4:57 PM ^
I hope you don’t believe that. They have allowed all of this leaking to come out. You personally don’t believe that they are behind the leagues? You literally had Reese Davis on game day to weeks ago quoting his source from the NCAA about this.
November 2nd, 2023 at 5:03 PM ^
I hope you don’t believe that.
November 2nd, 2023 at 5:04 PM ^
And that's been about it as far as the NCAA is concerned. The same guy who gave the NCAA the info is giving it to the media. The reports have come from "sources at the universities" and "sources at the big ten" and crap like that. The NCAA has been mute on the situation as has Michigan.
November 2nd, 2023 at 4:58 PM ^
Edit - wrong comment
November 2nd, 2023 at 5:02 PM ^
[replied to wrong comment]
November 2nd, 2023 at 4:55 PM ^
He would probably know better than most, because he actually had to fight the NCAA in the NFL. I know he’s had a somewhat checkered past, but it is good to see somebody that is able to throw down his fandom and call this what this is. A witchhunt!
November 2nd, 2023 at 4:57 PM ^
Looks like he's giving the NCAA a taste of their own ponzi scheme.
November 2nd, 2023 at 4:57 PM ^
Maurice Clarett as an adult male knows what it's like to get screwed by the establishment more than any other.
There is absolutely no legal reason that should exist that keeps him from getting drafted by a team willing to take the risk except for the fact that the NFL wants the NCAA to be their free semi-professional league for talent evaluation.
November 2nd, 2023 at 5:24 PM ^
"...except for the fact that the NFL wants the NCAA to be their free semi-professional league for talent evaluation."
Bravo!
November 2nd, 2023 at 7:07 PM ^
And this is it, 10 billion percent. If the NFL actually had to create a development league as large as the NCAA and pay all those players plus cover their insurance/injuries/etc it would be a fortune. Under the guise of "student athletes" the NFL has paid nothing and, although they have received a scholarship which definitely is valuable, the athletes have not nearly been compensated for their true value until NIL money came about. And speaking of the latter - how absolutely asinine has it been that athletes had no control over their name, image, and likeness until recently?
November 2nd, 2023 at 4:58 PM ^
It’s bigger than a rivalry. If you have a high school athlete that’s going into division 1 sports this perspective should be important to you.
That's right. Come to Michigan where the coach actually represents your interests!
Could we turn this into a recruiting win?
November 2nd, 2023 at 5:03 PM ^
Yes, but by using it this we’d probably be violating one of the NCAA’s precious bylaws.
November 2nd, 2023 at 5:23 PM ^
Is it the "Don't call us out on our bullshit" rule?
November 2nd, 2023 at 6:11 PM ^
Well, one they'll suddenly make up anyway.
November 2nd, 2023 at 4:58 PM ^
So, keeping score at home. Brian Kelly, Clarett, and urban are now the good guys!!
November 2nd, 2023 at 5:10 PM ^
November 2nd, 2023 at 5:17 PM ^
Meyer is not one of the good guys.
Within:
“I also heard people say that ‘Well, everyone does that.’ And Tim, no one does that," Meyer continued. "I’ve never heard of that in 40 years of being around the game."
Sorry, Urbs, I don't believe that.
November 3rd, 2023 at 6:31 AM ^
""I’ve never heard of that in 40 years of being around the game."
Yes - and, when he described the following, I think he said - I was evaluating the possibility of bringing some additional talent to Jacksonville.
November 2nd, 2023 at 8:05 PM ^
and finebaum, who hates harbaugh and the B10 with the heat of 1,000 suns, came out initially on our side. true to form (you know what he looks like, but with ears), he has since changed his mind, but when that guy says anything helpful about us you know it's true.
November 2nd, 2023 at 5:00 PM ^
I appreciate his perspective. I also appreciate the misspellings of Palestine and Israel. Very on brand
November 2nd, 2023 at 5:00 PM ^
Interesting because a few days ago he was calling it a Ponzi scheme https://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/maurice-clarett-record-michigan%27s-signals-vs-purdue
November 2nd, 2023 at 5:13 PM ^
and a couple hours after that he said he was playing fun and pretty much said the same thing he just said in the tweet the OP posted. So he is actually doubling down on being hated in columbus.
November 2nd, 2023 at 7:31 PM ^
You only caught half the message. the other half was about this being a ridiculous nothing burger. It was Pro-Michigan.
November 2nd, 2023 at 5:02 PM ^
Good for him, he put the tribalism of Red vs Blue aside and called it for what it was...money. Everything comes back to money. Ever wanna know why shit happens, follow the money!
November 2nd, 2023 at 5:03 PM ^
His follow up tweet is also worth noting: “if you went to all 125 teams you could find the same thing. You’d find a violation that you could make a major issue. It happens everywhere. Everyone else is left alone because they don’t speak against the machine.”
As fans, I feel like we need to unanimously support profit sharing for college athletes
November 2nd, 2023 at 5:39 PM ^
As someone said above, this whole issue was due to somebody hiring a PI firm and dropping the entire case in the NCAA's lap. The real culprit in this particular situation is the mystery party who we will call THE Deep Throat. Now has the NCAA been unnecessarily up Harbaugh's/Michigan's butt in recent memory? Yes. But that's not how all of this started.
November 2nd, 2023 at 7:12 PM ^
I agree with your take. The scandal for the NCAA really will be whether it gives the green light for programs to hire PI firms to investigate other programs. I'm not sure there will be enough popcorn in the world as all the violations are exposed.
November 2nd, 2023 at 8:47 PM ^
It’s been a long time since I took a religion course, but I’m pretty sure this is how the Reformation started.
November 2nd, 2023 at 5:05 PM ^
Wow thank you Mo. Did not see this coming from a buckeye. Very well thought out and a good perspective. Impressed by him
November 2nd, 2023 at 5:07 PM ^
I now have a mancrush on Mo Clarrett.
