Beer prices

Let me get this straight on what prices are on Mackinac Island's Grand Hotel
$8 for a Bell's Light Hearted
$10 for a Two Hearted
(or is that Two Heated per the sign?...What, no Three Hearted?)
Not per six pack of the 12 oz or fours of the pints, which is a fairly normal price, but per can!
Want a six pack of the limited edition Bell's Big Porch Ale? A U.S. Grant will leave you a Buck short plus tax and deposit.
Who do they think they are, the U.S. Open?
Drink water. It's free.
Nestle is working on it.
Breaking News! Over priced hotel has over priced beer. More at 11.
That was my thought. For what you pay to stay there your bitching about the price of a beer?
Add to that the cost of driving up there. (I saw $5.19/gal at the pump this morning in A2).
Humble brag: when I was on the SpaceX tourist shuttle the beers were $2,000 each. That’s crazy right?! On Bezos’ penis ship beers were only $500. Musk totally takes advantage on those beers….
I think what the OP was trying to do here is let us know he was at the Mackinac Policy Conference…so we could all be impressed that he’s a person of some importance.
Yep, OP is Pete Buttigieg. Could be doing worse for himself, but no need to brag.
$8 and $10 for beer is overpriced, but this doesn't seem "run straight to the board to complain" overpriced.
You're on an island, they have you captive. I bet the fudge is more expensive there too. $8 and $10 feels like minibar prices at a normal Marriott.
Now you want to talk crazy... Last year there was a restaurant at La Guardia that drew national attention (and an internal audit by The Port Authority) for charging $27 for a Sam Adams. LINK
I just paid $7.50 for a delicious draft beer at a local brewery. Those beer prices don’t look too bad. Brisket at the adjacent BBQ place goes for $20/lb. It’s not 1984 anymore...
It’s not 1984 anymore...
Which is what I yell every time Harbaugh calls an up-the-middle running play into a stacked box.
It may not be 1984 anymore but were definitely entering into our very own Orwellian nightmare!
Dude, 10 years ago I paid **$16** for a 12 oz bottle of Coors Light at some random bar in South Beach, Miami. So $8 or $10 for legit good craft beers in 2022's inflated dollars and at Michigan's crown jewel hotel is one hell of a bargain in comparison.
So you’re the guy who drinks bud light
Bud light is great when you're sweating your butt off in the deep south in summer. Gotta stay hydrated.
Bud Light Platinum is my Raleigh summer pool beer
Perfect blend of alcohol and water to keep you cool and hydrated in the summers down here
Nah, I was just too cheap to pay for a higher quality tier. If there was ever a time when I felt like I was pissing my money away, it was about 20 minutes after I drank that beer.
Should have seen what Gilligan was paying. And that was the 60s.
You pay extra on Mackinac for the secret ingredient.
Is the secret ingredient the lingering odor of horse shit?
These are the withy* comments I come to celebrate.
(Pithy + witty)
Don’t most stadiums charge like $12 for Bud Light?
Last summer, I paid $17 for beers at Comerica.
Justin Feagin.
We are all eagerly awaiting your next titillating post titled ‘gas prices’
But seriously though... have you seen chicken wings over the past year? What used to be like an $8 pack is $28/$30 now. I know it's sacrilege but I've even considered picking up a pack of frozen Tyson wings. I just can't buy them. They taste weird to me.
Millions of chickens have been disposed of due to the Bird Flu. It's got to have an effect.
You must not go to any sports event ever.
Not since your choice of a decent cigar or a big box of Cracker Jacks was 25¢, a Ball Park dog was 45¢ and a premium beer or a pack of cigarettes was 50¢ at the ballgame.
What must a decent smoke cost at a stadium or arena cost nowadays?
Depends.
Sporting event? costs way too much.
Metal concert? Lmao we all smoking something over here … hell there’s a guy over there shooting meth and you’re worried about my joint?
Doesn’t one *smoke* meth? Or is there a cooler way?
Bump it.
There is no smoking in the stadiums! But, there is an area at the Braves stadium where you can smoke - just inside the gates. So, when people get their tickets scanned, they walk through the cloud. Not ideal…
It's still cheaper than a beer in Qatar.
Does Argentina have PBR? Asking for … myself
Having very recently spent 29 hours in the airport in Doha I can confirm that price is “fake news”
MGON - you must have found the exception. The price is “average”. Here’s evidence that beer is very expensive in Doha airport…
Nice to know that the OP will find beer is only $3.42 in Bolivia.
That must be the price of a beer in a 12 pack at the supermarket. I went to the Excentric cafe for the first time recently and a Two Hearted Ale was somewhere around $8 to $10.
You are more of a captive audience on the Island than you are at UM stadium. You literally cannot leave the island to get beer. It comes with the experience.
Can you -100000000000 So he can never do this again… please…
Should try the coffee...
That’s why I smuggle in a half gallon of whiskey in my daughter’s suitcase.
Three simple letters- PBR…
Can I give this PBR comment all of my MGoPoints?
Have you had a chance to eat at the Mustang, downtown ? I love that bar and grill. Cheer up you're on vacation enjoying one of Michigan's finest.
I went to a five guys for the first time in many months and a cheeseburger was $9!! What’s up with that?
Are the peanuts still free?
