BlueByYou -

can you expound on what you mean by 'two woke boxes' checked?  Surely you're not implying that Harbaugh hired Bolden-Morris only because she's both Black and a woman.  Harbaugh has always struck me as someone who's competitive to a fault and would have similarly insanely high standards for the people who work for him.  It's possible you might know better than I on that count, so I'd be interested to hear your reasoning why that's not the case.

Very interesting. Definitely helps she comes from a D1 athletics background. Sounds like her dad played in the league and her brother is on the team. I have no idea how much she knows about the game but I'm excited to find out!

Wow. This is going to get the headlines.

Haters will say Harbaugh has antics. I see him hiring women to be pioneers and taking student athletes to Italy and South Africa.

Good shit.

The future of football is female!  Michigan has been a leader in incorporating women into the world of football, starting with female reporters an photographers in the press box and on the field.  As long as football remains a significant economic and cultural component of American entertainment, the employment of women into football jobs will undoubtedly increase - as it should.

I'm a massive proponent of giving people without playing experience opportunities to coach in just about every sport I can think of. It's a game and if you understand the rules, intricacies and environment of the sport you can coach it. I'm not a person that demands the hiring of an ex-player or the like. Experience is great but it also isn't a necessary thing, IMO.

That said, I would like to know more about her in general. It's cool that she played basketball and was around the sport but I'd feel a lot better if I knew what she does and does not know about the sport of football.

Granted that it's quite a bit, I'm totally cool with this. I do not care if it's a man, woman, black or white. I want talented coaches and minds in the football program and Athletic Department on the whole.

It’s just a GA position. You’re acting like he’s hired her to become the OL coach. Jay Harbaugh never played football or any sport above the high school level and got a GA role at a P5 as his first job in football.

Because you’re so concerned if she’s capable of understanding football, she’s the older sister of current Michigan DL Mike Morris and the daughter of former Florida St OL Mike Morris Sr

To be fair, if this hire was a male, there wouldn't be a post about it in the first place to celebrate the hire as a special accomplishment. And then this guy would never ask the question.  Hopefully one day it can be normalized on both sides so that the asshole side can't insinuate women are less qualified bc they're cynical toward institutions who they think lower the bar for women in an effort to appear diverse and inclusive just for the sake of it bc the elite and lizard people and elite lizard people demand it . I think it goes something like that at least.  Anyway, she seems very qualified and I hope she crushes it.

You are all absolute psychopaths, lmao.

"You tell on yourself"

How? By saying I'd like to know what she knows about the sport of football and/or how her knowledge about another sport translates to football? I'm interested. Do I tell on myself for wanting to know who she - a Michigan Football GA - is on a Michigan Sports Forum? Oh, no...I must be a secret or closeted bigot for wanting to know who this incredibly unique hire is! Or...maybe you're a fn clown? You should consider that possibility. In fact, I'd say you tell on yourself for even reading into it what you did.

"You act like we hired her to be OC"

No, I actually, literally didn't but one could think that if they were a fn moron. I simply want to know what makes her any more or less qualified than anyone else for the job seeing as she is the first to do something. I literally went out of my way to make it clear that I'm all for hiring the best people regardless of genetics OR experience. Again, I'm interested in this hire because it's very unique and I know zero about her...and that's kinda why it was posted here at all! It's unique! It's why it got a thread, you very smart and in no way ethically compromised guy! Yeah, odd how that works! How, like, a unique thing happens and people then want to know about it. Crazy.

"Have you spend this much effort writing about other coaches?!"

Literally, yes. It was my old job to do that and much, much more. I've written about it here. I still spend about half of my time talking to anyone that isn't my family about everything related to CFB and particularly in the Midwest. Down to HS coaches and fn HS coordinators and MAC programs and unpaid assistants and everything Michigan in relation to all that. I've spent more time writing about and talking to UM assistants you've never heard than you can imagine so kiss my entire ass. I even sometimes share/shared the info here, too (previously under my old name I had since 2006 before forgetting the credentials)! Something people like you clowns make me regret at the moment as this site cannot seem to have more than about 7 posters that aren't fully living at the absolute tips of political horseshoe theory. It's shocking how bad the users and discourse have become on this blog since it's pinnacle over a decade ago.

You all think you crushed it when you actually missed it entirely, to pathetic degree. You swung, missed the ball, did a 360, somehow crushed your nuts with the bat and then started rounding the bases like you sent it 450ft into the upper deck. You couldn't have missed harder.

You're all Twitter-brained weirdos trying to pick fights that don't exist in order to...? I dunno. Feel better about yourself? Be the most PC when I didn't even go down a road that would necessitate that and, in fact, pointed out that I want the best people regardless of anything regarding their genetics? To feel like you've done a good deed? Are you angry and need to release so you read into things like a meth'd up psycho wanting to vent? I'm not sure but you people specifically are one reason why this blog is a shadow of it's former self. You suck, lol. Really. You suck and it makes the site worse.

Sometimes it's just football, guys. Sometimes there is no social battle or culture war involved. Sometimes a football program makes a hire, regardless of importance or consequence, and people just want to know about it and discuss it and break it down because everywhere else is full of people like you and it sucks.

I'd tell you to go back to Reddit but even the average angry-mob Reddit user has more discernment than you handful that replied to my comment. Congrats.

Knowing Ace and his style, I'd accuse everyone in the initial replies more likely to be Ace than myself due to my rebuttal to them.

Last I checked I wasn't the type to start culture war BS or accuse others of being bigots based on innocent comments. Ace was known for that. So, reverse it and you'd have a post that goes from lame to still lame but slightly less so.
