THIS ^. I'm sick of losing this game. We're always underdogs and 1 win in 10 years?? Not long before this rivalry loses its national acclaim if this continues. The past 50 years in "modern football era" OSU has edge.

We should Brady Hoke for going 0-7 in 2004-2010 while Lloyd Carr and Rich Rodriguez were coaching.
Urban Meyer doesn't have to overcome the 2010 & 2011 recruiting vacuum that this staff is facing.

I hate comments like this. It makes you just as annoying as those folks. Please, stop, it's not needed and doesn't help your cause.

They spiked the ball on 1st down when they had a timeout which is absolutely unforgivable! They came out in the same formation after the OSU timeout before the 2-point attempt??? Why have Gardner saddled in the pocket throwing to a 5'8 reciever when you can roll Gardner and have our 2 huge TE as options???
November 30th, 2013 at 4:40 PM ^
If only Homesick Alien had been OC this week, we would have scored 70.
November 30th, 2013 at 5:17 PM ^
You know that we've run a lot different plays out of that formation all year?
November 30th, 2013 at 3:42 PM ^
Going for 2 was absolutely the right move. Statisitcally, it only lowers your odds by about 5% (45% conversion rate vs 50-50 in OT), and I think the game situation and the momentum swing the odds a lot more than 5%. Sucks it didn't work out, but absolutely the right move.
November 30th, 2013 at 3:46 PM ^
Go into overtime against a team you can't stop, with your quarterback limping and your field goal kicker in street clothes?
No thank you.
November 30th, 2013 at 3:42 PM ^
Senior laden OSU team with 4 senior o-linemen barely escapes against our insanely young team. I like Michigan's direction a hell of a lot more today than yesterday.
If OSU plays Alabama or FSU they will be blown of the field.
November 30th, 2013 at 3:45 PM ^
They only lose Roby on defense and like you mention the 4 olineman and Hyde on offense.
November 30th, 2013 at 3:49 PM ^
OSU's offense ran for some ridiculous yards today, largely because of a good, experienced o-line. Losing that will still certainly hurt them.
November 30th, 2013 at 4:03 PM ^
They'll be fine next year. OSU has had one rebuilding year in the last decade and a half. I'm sure they'll fill those gaps with little difficulty.
November 30th, 2013 at 4:08 PM ^
Anyone who thinks OSU is going to replace 4 senior o-linemen is just insane. That is just a ridiculous comment to make.
November 30th, 2013 at 4:18 PM ^
Losing the linemen will slow them down for a few games. Then they'll have a Jr. returning as starter with a Sr. at the other OT. The C will bea Jr. One guard will be the guy who stepped in after the ejection (a Fr. this year). The other G is a question. They might move a 6-4, 308 pound backup OT over.
I'm sure they'll work it out.
November 30th, 2013 at 3:49 PM ^
November 30th, 2013 at 3:55 PM ^
16 returning starters is not sr laden. Don't forget one of their olineman was ejected and they didn't miss a beat when his sub came in.
November 30th, 2013 at 3:54 PM ^
Both safeties are seniors and Shazier may had to the NFL as well. Others could follow.
Miller sounds like a guy who is leaving and really coming back to play behind a young o-line would be a big mistake for any QB. And if he goes they have a huge whole at QB.
4 o-linemen plus Hyde is going to hurt a lot.

Kidding. It was bad though, they got torched.

Stopping the run, couldn't do it but the D played hard.
The offense, it's been dormant forever but man today it looked good.
Can we do a snowflakes on the couple WTF refs plays?
November 30th, 2013 at 3:44 PM ^
Offensively, they did it all. OSU has a bad defense and Borges exploited it well.
Too bad our LBs were hurt and DG couldn't have a run/pass option on the final play.
November 30th, 2013 at 3:44 PM ^
...2 pt conversion I think Michigan's best option was tossing up a jump ball for Funchess in the corner of the endzone. Credit to OSU for completely sniffing out the final playcall and covering it well.
November 30th, 2013 at 3:46 PM ^
November 30th, 2013 at 3:55 PM ^
...Funchess singled up with Butt going to the back and Gallon to the front on the opposite side would've been the perfect playcall after the OSU TO.

Borges called a good game. And he showed that he can call a good game. It's up to the coaches to keep this pace up and not go into a Manball shell next year based on "philosophy".
November 30th, 2013 at 3:45 PM ^
sometimes you lose.
if we play like that next year, we will be a-ok.

Great game overall. Only a couple of bad plays called by Borges today but obviously the question is where has this offense been the last 5 games. Absolutely agree with the decision to go for the 2 point conversion, there is no way we would have won in OT. Only real gripe was why we didn't come out with a different play/formation after OSU's timeout knowing that they would then be ready for that original call?

November 30th, 2013 at 4:04 PM ^
When Hoke and Borges don't get caught up in their own Dogma and just try to win the F'ing game with the weapons they have, they do all right.
It took an undefeated Ohio State game to get their attention, but maybe they can keep focused.
November 30th, 2013 at 4:24 PM ^
Yes, I agree. The fact is that when this organization (players, staff, front office, whatever) confronts a BIG game at the beginning and end of this season, they demonstrate an admirable focus that allows them to maximize their inherent strengths and minimize their inherent weaknesses.
This game clearly demonstrated this.
Now, if they just maintain that focus the entire season, THEN I think you have the confidence in execution that will allow them to not take the "play not to lose" move of burning the clock out at the end of the half.
November 30th, 2013 at 4:12 PM ^
If you're going to come out in the same formation, don't you at least have to have a surprise coming from it knowing that OSU just dialed up a defense to stop what they think you are going to run?
The one thing I will say is that Gallon and Dileo were really close to each other when the pass was thrown. Wondering if one of them didn't run the correct route.

This, especially after Green's run of 12 yards. Our offense had been on fire and a 3-point lead going into halftime would have been huge for momentum.
November 30th, 2013 at 3:54 PM ^
Fact is, our staff outcoached OSU's. The difference is that they have Senior Carlos Hyde and Seniors all along the line, and they just imposed their will on our undersized front 7. However, this game definitely gives me more confidence in the coaching staff for the future, if they stay intact. Admittedly, still wouldn't be opposed to firing Borges, but hard to see that happening now. If only he could figure out how to consistently call games like this (of course, he was helped by the O-line playing much better than they were a few weeks ago)

Pelini getting another year should makes Borges a little safer, because that OC is someone who worked minor miracles this year.
November 30th, 2013 at 3:54 PM ^
One big complaint: Not trying to score before the half. I do not understand how the same guy who makes that decision then goes for it on fourth down twice and then for two in the second half. In a game like that, especially when you have nothing to lose, you do everything you can to win. Running out the clock after a first down with a timeout was the wrong move.

too easy to throw a pick six or put the ball on the ground and give ohio a chance at 3 before half.
