Michigan defensive lineman Chris Rock has left the team, sources confirmed today. We'll have more soon at http://TheWolverine.com ...
but who will tell the jokes now?
Nope, I already made the Dave Chappelle joke. Props on the video though, I don't know how to do things like that.
Plus 1,000 for the video.
Dave Chappelle - Killin Them Softly
Definitely my favorite stand up of all time.
Loved that dvd! That and Elephant in the room by Patrice O'Neal are my two favorite stand up's ever.
Elephant in the Room by Patrice O'Neal is definitely my favorite ever. He says what NOBODY else says, but what everyone is thinking. RIP Patrice!
While I do like Dave Chappelle, Eddie Murphy - Delirious just cannot be beat
Zach Galifinakis - Live at the Purple Onion

now who's going to make Denard laugh
Sources say Dave Chappelle is next.

My mistake, I thought it was Chris Rock but it turns out it's just that guy from Rush Hour.
Hello Henry Poggi?
only hope it can work out that positively for us.
Wait is this a joke or not?
I was wondering that too
Damn, just losing more depth. When will the attrition stop?
Can't tell if serious. Attrition hasn't been an issue at all lately - maybe in basketball, but the rate for football players isn't high at all.
Um, I wouldn't worry too much about depth here. No offense to Rock, but he was a long shot to see the field, especially with the guys we signed in the last recruiting class. It's always a bummer to lose guys, but this one isn't all that damaging.
He is not in our 2-deep (and we are already thin on the DL), and with the influx of 5 new freshmen DL, I am guessing he was seeing the writing on the wall in terms of his future playing time and chose to pursue his football career elsewhere. Best of luck to him.
Exactly. Usually these things end up as a mutually-beneficial parting of the ways. Chris finds a place he can contribute more, and we find a DT who can contribute more. Everybody wins.
As long as he stays classy on the way out, best of luck to him. Every player deserves to play someplace where he can actually see the field in meaningful games. Maybe he should see if Ron English has a place for him before he moves too far.
Maybe his mom can sue.
...we don't want to go all ESS EEE SEE now...I agree he might have better playing opportunity elsewhere but not from a better school or one with better facilities.
Best of luck to him. I will follow him wherever he ends up.
There's nothing SEC about it. Kids transfer at every school in every conference. He wasn't pushed out, or given a medical hardship against his will. Not all 85 kids will get to play, so some of them want to try it somewhere else. Completely ethical by both parties.
I don't see any particulars about this in the link. Did Rock issue a statement? I have no idea how he left the program.
To say that this is not damaging is SEC like. That is what I was reacting to...
I know the incoming class is loaded at SDE and playing across from Lewan was probably no fun... but the coaches saw something here that Rock and the staff didn't make good on. It's damaging to whatever degree.
It's not a "bring on the next one - MOAR scholarships!" situation...
Attrition needs to happen if they plan on getting to 24 anyways.
Good luck to him. Hopefully he lands on his feet somewhere that will be a great fit for him academically and athletically.
Chris Rock was falling behind the rest of his class, hardly ever seeing the field this spring. It's best for the program and future classes...
Welp...toooo baddd for him! Hope he succeeds wherever he goes!
Bitter much?
The guy had pretty legit offers (ND, MSU, Wisco, Nebraska, and some Big East teams), so let's not get too out of hand here.
True, but his high school film just didn't look that impressive.
Hope the kid lands somewhere that's a better fit. Wish him well.
that's such a sheep thing to say...
an "RR bust" just like Jake Ryan, Roh, Beyer, Countess, Thomas Gordon, and Courtney Avery.
Not to mention all the offensive stars, and, you know, like 80+% of the roster that just went 11-2 and won the Sugar Bowl.
With the way we are recruiting, I'm not surprised the 38th ranked player out of ohio is leaving the program. I'm afraid we may see a few more before it's all said and done. Best of luck to him.
Waiting on an APR post from Brian...
for every Jake Ryan there's a couple of Chris Rock's......
good luck!
I think Molly Ringwold said something like that in Sixteen Candles.
mmmmmmmMolly!
Hate to see him go. We need comedians that scream in such an annoying way as to drive the other teams into pulling their hair out. Then again, Everybody Hates Chris.
