You could probably use some R&R after last night's anti-asshole movement. We don't often see indignant JGB. Though it was warranted I'll agree.
Yea, I was worked up for a while. After her (apparently, she's claiming she's a 34 year old mother on another thread) "non-threat" I was done being angry, and I was just looking to get the word out on the other stuff. Love you guys for standing by me there, even when it was obvious I wasn't exactly happy.
Anyway, life is good with the exception of the lack of Red Wings/CCHA in my living room. megangoblue had a great game today against a good team at her tournament and should be calling soon, I have a good wine chilling and I'm trying to decide what to watch tonight. The weather isn't really motivating me to go anywhere, especially since I know I won't be able to drive back.
What are you up to tonight, WD? How's life been lately? Any plans for the evening or something interesting on the TV?
I don't know how much of a music fan you are, but I can think of at least a couple albums that would be worth listening to with the lights off and a strong drink. Especially if the alternative is trying to figure out what to do in the meantime before she shows up.
Pink Floyd's Animals is a good start if you have 45 or so minutes to try something new. Hell I might do that myself, though it wouldn't be new for me. And then I'd hope BD shows up to give a trained analysis of the various developments, particularly in "Dogs."
I was considering getting Scorsese's Hugo, which I haven't seen yet. Sadly, megangoblue is gone until next Thursday, she's mowing 'em down in West Virginia at the moment.
We need to hear BD analyze some music after a twelve pack or so. We pick the songs, so we'll intersperse Pink Floyd, Bob Dylan and Warren Zevon with some Katy Perry and Miley Cirus, and we'll see how profane we can get him.
I'm not a big movie guy. My favourite move is There will be blood. Raw, thematically rich. Strangely I never want to watch it though.
Brewed some beers at the Vineland Brewery in St. Paul, MN.
Just opened a hoppy ale..."100% Evil"!
Delicious!
It's always on my list when I go to Ashley's. And sometimes, they actually have it when I order it.
Love that style of beer. It's fun just watching the way the beer swirls in the glass after you pour it. So smooth. Have you tried Old Speckled Hen?
There's a disturbing lack of Chic Fil A's here in Michigan. #HomeSick
I have to agree with you there. Chick-fil-A is delicious, I've been there twice in my life and I still crave it.
I live 5 minutes away from a chick fil a, but I can't do the sweet tea, or fast food for that matter.
Coors Light....meh.
What do you know about that Silver Bullet Band, son?
What part of 'Bama do you hail from?
Six pack of tall boys, Miller High Life.
A fine tequila to go with my Bass Ale.
Three Floyds Zombie Dust and Founders Breakfast Stout and Double Trouble
Zombie Dust is delicious. Got 2 cases from 3 Floyds brewery last weekend and I plan on heavily depleting my stash this weekend.
Good on ya, mate. I had some Zombie Dust at Paddy Longs in Chicago, tasty, tasty stuff. I love the Apocalypse Cow from FFF. They make some fine, fine, beers.
bell's two hearted ale, bell's hopslam, and surly abrasive ale. i'm stocked right now.
2 fingers of Glenfidich, 1 ice cube
Donate it to some students, then write it off as a charitible gift.
Problem solved, two parties (pun intended?) win AND you get to stick it to the government.
It makes a good mixer for pina coladas and daqueries and such. Also, you never know when you'll be entertaining and someone will ask for rum. Its not like it goes bad.
With some shots of Gran Centanrio Tequila. That is such a great tequila.
Hopslam
Diet Vernors + Dragon Berry/Strawberry Bacardi. And it's amazing.
McMasters and Vernors way the hell up near Lake Superior.
she sounds like the greatest future mother-in-law on earth
Tecate.
A fine combo of a 40 oz Milwaukee's Best, followed by a homebrewed Barleywine, and perhaps a RyePA...Or maybe a nice oatmeal stout.
Eagle Rare 17 year and one cube of ice
I bought a fifth of Eagle Rare at the Buffalo Trace distillery in Frankfort, KY last year. Very, very nice bourbon.
Are you from Kentucky, did you buy in KY, or option C? I ask b/c I was under impression this wasn't widely available.
BTW, I got some whisky stones for Xmas this year as an alternative to ice. Not quite as cold, but it does prevent any unwanted watering down of the whisky.
I actually live in Florida, I got it from Total Wine and I am on a call list for whenever they get it in. I found out about Eagle Rare when I was in college, I went to school at Miami(NTM) and did a bourbon trail tasting. I love the 10yr, but every know and then I have a few fingers of the 17 year. I need to get some whiskey stones, the only thing I use for this is a bourbon snifter.
The girlfriend got me a great set from Sur-La-Table, and they weren't very expensive. You can get them shipped if there isn't one near you.
i got a set as well, though most nights I actually prefer a solitary ice cube with my scotch. my reason? Because scotch on the rocks (best drink on earth) eventually turns INTO scotch and water (2nd best drink on earth)!
