My wife and I went a few years ago. It didn't feel like an away game, more like a neutral site. We found some great tailgates to join. Everyone was friendly in our section which was a pretty even split of fans.
We bought tickets from the Maryland athletic department. They still call me every year to see if I'm coming back to see UM.
I was hoping to make it to the game again tonight, but stuff with the kids got in the way. For any of you in Columbus for this series in the future, you can typically get great seats day of the the game. We were 3rd row last night for $15.
I went to the game tonight. It was a great win and a decent amount of maize and blue in the crowd. Our power play didn't look great, but killing the 5 on 3 was huge. Go Blue!
We bought one from the brand Caravan. We got the aluma model from Amazon a couple of years ago. I'm not sure if that model still exists, it was their commercial grade, but it has been great. They were expensive ($500ish), but the yellow model was way cheaper ($120). It is more of the Adidas yellow than a true maize color. We've used it at multiple music festivals, tailgating, car camping, and to cover the smoker when it's raining. Really well made and you can buy sides for it if you want.
Happy father's day to all the dads. We've got a bunch of folks coming over. I threw two pork shoulders on the smoker at 2:30 to be ready for lunch. I've got some pork belly burnt ends going as well. Should be a good day!
I've only taken my family once, but it was during the College World Series and the World Cup. In both cases the bar in our hotel was more than happy to turn them on. We were in the Bay Lake Towers.
Section 102 row three. We'll get to see the Michigan attack twice, but will be right next to the Ohio state bench. I'm interested to see the crowd tonight. Nationwide is far enough from campus to discourage some students to attend.
All of the maize and blue of Columbus should show up, plenty of tickets left.
The game is at Nationwide which is home to the Blue Jackets. From what I can tell they are only selling tickets for 14 or 15 of the lower bowl sections. Of those, 1/2 to 2/3s of the tickets are sold. This is a great opportunity to make a big maize and blue showing in Columbus.
The hustle and pursuit by Marshall is awesome. It almost looks like he thinks about slowing down, then decides to finish the play. I love seeing him on the field and producing!
I took my six year old this year and it was just fine. We both wore Michigan gear and didn't hear any grief at all. In fact, a group of students in front of us had a pretty fun interaction with my daughter who had been chearing loudly all game. It was pleasant banter and they totally understood that they were dealing with a kid. Having recently moved to the Columbus area and sporting M gear I have not had any problems. There are horror stories, but I haven't experienced them. Even this year's football game was fine for friends and family.
It isn't a great hockey atmosphere and most of the fans seemed to be fans of OSU or fans of hockey, but not specifically OSU hockey fans.
We'll definitely be there for those games and I'll be bringing my younger kid too.
Tickets can be had for next to nothing and you can easily sit in any section that you want.
I work in public education, and have even moved to a different state and found a job. I agree tha the most desireable places probably won't even look at her without an in-state license, or proof of the ability to get one right away.
From what I gathered from your post her degrees are Biology and not biology education degrees. She should talk to different universities as many have different requirements and timeframes to complete the degrees. It would be more helpful to have the degree and license in hand.
That said, there are certainly places that have trouble filling some science positions. I have not worked in Michigan, but other states have alternative paths to licensure for someone in your wife's situation. Michigan's is called MARITC.

I've got two kids, age 2 and 5. It is a huge game changer, but your life isn't over. We've continued to have great lives and have found fun things we can do that includes them.

My last and most important unsolicited advice...Don't take unsolicited advice about raising kids. Everybody is a fucking expert. Once you get the basics down, you'll know what's right for your family.

Bought two in section 17 last night. There weren't many left together in the stadium, so we took advice from other threads and went for the top of the lower bowl. Looking forward to it. As it gets closer we should set up an mgomeetup!
I agree with both of those. Riverside is nothing special, but I love it. Restaurant wise, aside from other restaurants named throughout this thread I'd add Continental Divide, Bluegrass Grill (breakfast), our farmer's markets on Wednesdays and Saturdays usually have great food.
Checking out the grounds, since UVA is too cool to have a campus, is cool for visitors.
Nelson County, just south has great hiking, breweries and wineries. Blue mountain brewery has a great place to hang out outside.
There is always tons of live music going on as well.
As many others have said, I feel bad for the kid. While he felt mislead my Michigan, in the end he was mislead by OSU. I hope everything works out for him and that he has great success.... with the exception of the last regular season game of every season. Go Blue.
Way to represent some Charlottesville beer. Champion is about a 1/4 mile from my house. Cool little spot, plus they put out some great beers. I hope you checked out some of the other breweries in the area.
I saw that article too. If he's a great recruiter and Harbaugh wants him... sounds good to me. Drevno is supposed to be an amazing TE coach as well. I'd expect him to work with that position group as well.
