I second Woodson. He made my college years unbelievably satisfying from the football perspective.
November 24th, 2011 at 12:56 PM ^
Desmond Howard. Even after his college years he still comes back and supports Michigan
November 24th, 2011 at 12:57 PM ^
Love Sir Charles but not today. I'm thankful for every kid who stayed through 2 coaching changes and will be rewarded on Saturday.
November 24th, 2011 at 12:57 PM ^
Gotta go with Mattison right now, for this year.
November 24th, 2011 at 3:31 PM ^
YOU'RE CHEATING!!!1! HE SAID NO COACHES!
November 24th, 2011 at 4:55 PM ^
Mattison by a long shot...
November 24th, 2011 at 12:58 PM ^
Demond. I love Woodson but not today.
November 24th, 2011 at 1:02 PM ^
Didn't Demond Wilson play Lamont Sanford?
November 24th, 2011 at 1:10 PM ^
Lol oops. Desmond is who I almost the most thankful for this thanksgiving.
November 24th, 2011 at 3:32 PM ^
....so you don't love Woodson today?

For this current year, Ryan Van Bergen. Kid was a hard worker who stuck around and made something of himself for a lower rated recruit. Just a true grinder and a true Michigan man.

November 24th, 2011 at 2:27 PM ^
As was recently noted, no, hardly a no-name recruit:

His milkshake brings all the recruits to the yard.

MOOOOOOOO
Mattison is king of Ann Arbor this year for sure. Sir Charles also has a special place in my heart.
November 24th, 2011 at 1:09 PM ^
Charles Woodson. I will go on to say he coaches for us in the future.
November 24th, 2011 at 1:13 PM ^
But I more likely see him as a talking head on tv. Either way, he would be a great representative for the university.

Novak. He will never get the full credit that he deserves, but to me he is invaluable. I will always credit him with a major role in helping turn this once proud program back around.

Tshimanga Biakabutuka. 313 yards versus OSU.
November 24th, 2011 at 1:18 PM ^
Pants, Taco.
But in all seriousness, Zack Novak. I'm really going to miss him. Second place goes to this year's class of seniors on the football team that stuck around. All of 'em. So much heart.
November 24th, 2011 at 1:20 PM ^
This year Mattison and Jake Ryan. Kid is always around the ball and just makes plays.
November 24th, 2011 at 1:21 PM ^
Jordan Kovacs
November 24th, 2011 at 1:31 PM ^
Kovacs on this team, hands-down. Walk-on progresses to onfield vocal leader who plays his guts out very effectively. BTW, I got myself a Kovacs jersey - bought a #23 Nike at a big discount online and had a seamstress reverse the numbers to #32. Look for me on the golf course & Section 5 and GO BLUE!

Brian. For this blog and giving us all the Michigan outlet we have craved.
November 24th, 2011 at 1:24 PM ^
He turned the program around quickly, and did it just in time for my arrival on campus this fall. Hail!
November 24th, 2011 at 1:24 PM ^
As a Patriots fan, I'm most thankful for Tom Brady. .
November 24th, 2011 at 1:27 PM ^
Jalen Rose. Was a fan before I became a Wolverine. He did great things for my Pacers and he made a sweet documentary.

November 24th, 2011 at 1:32 PM ^
Current: Jordan Kovacs/Shoe
Former: Desmond Howard
Pro: Jeff Backus. Only because he's the only former Wolverine on the Lions.
November 24th, 2011 at 1:41 PM ^
Favorite player has to be Anthony Carter. He is to this day the best college receiver I have ever seen. His play against Indiana is one of my five favorite sports memories. But my favorite Wolverine, without a doubt, is Bo. He was imperfect (maybe a bit too conservative when he had superior talent, had a temper). But he was passionate. His integrity was unmatched. And he was winner. I am proud that he, more than anyone, is the person people think of when they think of my alma mater.
November 24th, 2011 at 1:41 PM ^
Dhani Jones, the most personable Wolverine I ever had a chance to meet (along with Hayden Epstein I guess).
November 24th, 2011 at 1:49 PM ^

ALL THE PLAYERS.

This year it's Denard. That's CRAZY!!!
BTW, Good omens from the Macy's Day Thanksgiving parade: Muppets and the Hawaiian War Chant.
GO BLUE!
November 24th, 2011 at 2:11 PM ^
I loved that guy. Hopefully Meyer can mimic his masterful coaching abilities.
But cereally, as a kid I would've picked Woodson. Now, I'm picking Denard. Not because of the dilithium or statistics, but because he defines how Michigan players should play and act on and off the field. Plus his smile be like dang.
November 24th, 2011 at 2:16 PM ^
For all time, its Bo. For now, its Mattison
November 24th, 2011 at 2:16 PM ^
Right now, I'll go with Denard Robinson, and lately, Fitz is a close second.
