Jeff Moss tweeted something along these lines, for what it's worth.
|3 hours 20 min ago||If Jim Harbaugh comes to||
If Jim Harbaugh comes to Michigan, I would bet that we win one by 2020.
|1 day 2 hours ago||Yeah, I thought the same. She||
Yeah, I thought the same. She sort of made it sound like an Ace Williams deal when it's about 98% certain that these emails are legit.
|2 days 2 hours ago||Those are all totally valid||
Those are all totally valid and good points but honestly, the odds of Harbaugh coming in and not dominating a historically-bad Big Ten have to be so, so slim. And if we land him, it's presumably because he just can't stand the NFL environment, so it's assumed we would have him for the long haul. Pair him with Coach Beilein and a competent AD and we could truly usher in a golden era of UMich athletics.

God dammit, he tweeted. I was really holding the absence from it as a reason to believe he was done.

He's been in a crackhouse; that was not a crackhouse.

Didn't Brian address the AD swap timing stuff before and basically said it wouldn't take much more than two weeks notice? Why the big delay? For all we know, they're working on terms with Long or whoever right now; maybe his notice to Arkansas / UConn is already in. Sam's great but I'm not sure I'm with him here.

As small as that is, I've been taking major solace in the twitter absence. Why else would he just abruptly become silent on there?

Props on fighting the good fight.
|1 week 3 days ago||There's no way it would||
There's no way it would happen, but even if it did, I'd still say he doesn't deserve to keep his job. More so, if he's the one conducting the next coaching search, then buckle up for the Teryl Austin era of Michigan Football and God help us all.

How about them 'Noles!?
|1 week 6 days ago||Yeah, and that's another good||
Yeah, and that's another good point that doesn't get brought up enough -- the mass exodus of the 2010 and 2011 classes set us back greatly. Now, you can afford to sacrifice this class for a better coach, but next year's will be a big one. You can't lose two classes as well as next year's favorable schedule because Brandon wanted to stick it out with Hoke.

What agenda are non-Brandon supporters pushing, exactly?
|1 week 6 days ago||For one, John Beilein wasn't||
For one, John Beilein wasn't hired by Dave Brandon.
Harbaugh has notoriously gone toe-to-toe with the 49's front office time and time again about control -- but he'll totally be down to leave his current gig to work for AD who requires that his coaches allow him to sit in on film study.
Brian has been doing this longer and is a lot more connected than you or I. When he breaks down games or gives his opinions on something, then take it for what you want. But he's not going to say something like this if there's isn't truth behind it. From today's UV:

|1 week 6 days ago||This unified support of||
This unified support of Brandon by the student-athletes and coaches (which doesn't actually exist) is going to power us to an upset over Michigan State?
|1 week 6 days ago||It has been firmly||
It has been firmly established. And I mean firmly.
|1 week 6 days ago||For one, if Brandon stays,||
For one, if Brandon stays, there's a zero percent chance that either Harbaugh is coming -- Brian has said that both on here as well as on a podcast. I can't imagine any high-profile head coach would sign underneath a micromanager like Brandon; especially one who's created such a toxic atmosphere around the program. So it's probably a coordinator of some sort at that point, which will be far from the slam dunk Michigan needs.
I think that, if he stays, we're going to be mediocre-to-bad for a long time. Like essentially everything else he has done at U-M, a Brandon-led coaching search would almost certainly be a total and absolute failure.
There's no justifying keeping him. Zero. And as a current student, I don't care if he's lowering prices next year -- far too little, far too late.
|2 weeks 2 days ago||I don't know, man.||
Brandon still hasn't tweeted (not since Sept. 30) and Bacon came out and predicted he won't make it until the end of the season -- I think the damage is done and it's only a matter of time at this point. It says a lot when students organize a rally with legitimate attendance and get 10k names on a petition to get him out of here.
As for Hoke: I don't think the regents, president, and next AD can really justify keeping him at this point. It looks like the ceiling here is 6-6; in year four, that's not good. And if somehow he manages to win out with victories at Michigan State and Ohio State, then, Hell... I'd say he's earned another year -- not that that is happening.
I understand your pessimism, especially since a win over the Nits has lightened the mood around Ann Arbor a bit heading into the bye week, but I'd have to imagine that their departures are done deals at this point. We just have to be patient.
