I purchased the JPX923's on…

I purchased the JPX923's on 3/31 at Carl's in Bloomfield Hills and was told 30 days. Today is day 30 and I'm still waiting on them. I'm a lefty, so may or may not be a little longer for me. I also ordered a Cleveland 56 degree the same day (had to be extended) and that came within 10 days. Hopefully today is the magic day for the Mizunos!

GO NAVY!!!!!  BEAT ARMY!!!!

GO NAVY!!!!!  BEAT ARMY!!!!

Fans generally Civil. Stadium Loud. Knew they stole one after.

Me and my cousin drove in yesterday morning and parked northwest of the stadium off Ackerman Rd. We didn't have a plan going in and ended up in a non-charging lot from what appeared to be a mostly empty medical building. The lot we were targeting (per the OSU pakring map posted on another thread) was closed. Anyways, a nice friendly cop told us we "propbably wouldn't" get towed and that most of the cars in the lot we parked were going to the game.

We walked a solid 30  to 45 min to the stadium with a few roadies in tow. I think we went through three or four different RV parking lots...past the track / field stadium...baseball field...basektball arena, etc. Nobody was overly rude or hostile. A couple "Fuck Michigans" but I was shocked at how civil things were. The only things that stuck out were the number of 8/10 year olds holding "Fuck Michigan" or "Harbaugh is a Douche" signs. Other than that just a pleasant stroll to the stadium.

I was shocked at how easy it was to get into the stadium. We entered about 15 min befor game time and there were no lines due to how many individual gates they have open. Once in I was SHOCKED to discover they sell BEER!  We got a beer and hit the john then went to our seats in upper 10C. Lots of Michigan fans around us as well as OSU. The OSU fans were civil and were for three quarters quite and defeated. They could not believe how dominating our defense was. They (fans) were defeated at one point.

As others said when it got loud it was LOUD. The place was shaking when they scored and in OT. We were pretyy high up but the two pass interferences (call / non-call) Harbaugh pointed out were clear as day from our view.  The ending happened and the place went nuts. People around me went from silent to hugging each other and taking pictures like they just won the National Championship.  I wanted to start chucking cell phones, but took a deep breath and exchanged congratulations. Everryone around us said it was the best game they ever saw.

The fans were a little overboard when Taco was down in OT and when DT (I think...never confirmed) looked like he was knocked out. I think they were booing Taco becasue they though he was trying to stall the hurry up offense. I did yell out a "stay classy Ohio" and got a couple dumbfounded looks at me. Nothing I haven't heard Mich fans do at home.

The long walk back to the car was the same. All Buckeyes were congratulatory and you could tell they were happy to steal one. I saw one Mich fan / Buckeye fan pushing each other outside the stadium but it fizzled pretty quickly. I'm pretty sure we walked right by Orlando Pace right by the baseball stadium. I heard he said on TV the 4th down spot was a bullshit call. Had I known that I would have stopped and confirmed it with him. SHould have got a pick anyways...he is a giant!

Ovearll I was shocked at the civility. I even brought a change of clothes for the ride home as I expected to have something thrown at / dumped on me. Especially once I saw they were actualy selling beer inside. Not sure if the rumors are overblown or if they were truly shocked at pullling that game out. I can honestly say the "feel" in the stadium was that we were winning that game up until they tied at the end...even with the OSU fans. Once OT started that stadium was rocking like nothing I've ever seen. It was a great experience except for the officiating and the outcome.

Oh I almost forgot...GO NAVY! BEAT ARMY!!!

There is no catch 22 in this day and age...

I root for Michigan and what's best for Michigan. Period. If that means rooting for OSU to beat somebody then that's what I root for. Whatever is besty for Michigan. Period.

Why don't you...

Why don't you let the Coaches who give them out and players who earn them worry about the criteria to earn them and how they look.

"Burning a Redshirt"

It is not burning a redshirt if he's the best guy on the field or the next best one in.  The coaches see 100s of practice snaps that we, the fans, do not see. Harbaugh is being paid $5M to win games....now.  That includes playing the best players.  You have absolutely no basis to question this decision...unless of course you've been privy to the previously mentioned 100s of practice snaps.

I would guess

I would guess that Harbaugh and the coaches know more about the depth chart and who should be playing than you do.

Fuck State

The bullshit ends next Saturday. Michigan IS back. Walk tall this week and talk loud. There are not ifs ands or buts about it. Big Brother is awake...he's pissed....and Little Bro is about to pay for the last few years. GO BLUE!

The best way...

to such up a D-B like Dantonio is to whoop them on the field.  Until we do that more than once every six years we shouldn't have a whole lot to say about anything.

To quote Eddie Murphy..."Brady...What have you done for me lately!?!?!"

Steve Everitt

I know he's been ID'd on this Board before, but I wanted to reiterate that he is one of the toughest SOB's and best Centers Michigan has ever seen.  Played with a broken jaw.  Broke his right hand and learned how to snap left handed before the next game!  1st rd pick of the Cleveland Browns.  This is definately the type of former player we want around the program.

Go Navy!

That's pretty sweet!  Thanks for sharing

^^^^The Best of Times...

Probably the funniest of all time.  "Throw it to Jack!"...

"Pride comes before the fall...."

6/8 and Belien clearly outcoaches Izzo.  All Sparty has to hold onto is their belief that "Nothing matters until March."  They are clinging to the belief that March will come, Payne will join the lineup, then suddenly they will be back to a #1 seed despite all of the above-mentioned struggles in B1G play.  A couple more early Sparty tourney exits and deep Michigan runs and these excuses will also fade away.

My hunch, too

I agree this is more likely an eligiblity issue than 'internal' discipline.  If so, Dantonio cannot run the risk of playing an ineligible player.  Time will tell.

Good Take on Corporate Greed Ruining CFB

The article is a pretty good read and a good take on how corporate greed is ruining college football and basketball.  The overall theme of the article is that Brandon is turning his back on lifelong and loyal fans, particularly season ticket holders, in favor of making a quick buck.  He makes a great point that anybody that faithfully attendned MBB games and kept their season tickets through the Elerbe and Amacker eras should not be forced out of the lower bowl because they cannot afford to pay the exorbarant fees for the "privilege" of continuing to pay for the seats that they earned.  I also love the comparison to Jerry Jones!  Well done, sir.

See hockey...

It's not the weight.  Speed + hits = dizziness.

Memories...

I was there as phase 2 of my little bro's bachelor party!  We played the UM golf course the day before.  Went to the game Sat morning and of course had the limo bus for the evening and toured metro-Detroit's finest gentlemen's clubs!  Unfortunately the marriage lasted only 18 months...but it was a great game and I definately scored an A+ as the organizer!

Lifelong resident of the area

(1) downtown west Dearborn. As earlier poster said great condos / lofts right on mich ave. 1100 -1800 per month to rent. Easy access to all freeways and all other cities.

(2) royal oak / ferndale. Higher rent than Dearborn but livelier downtown nightlifes. Biggest issue will be the traffic on Southfield fwy is busy south in the am and north in the pm.

(3). AA. 35 - 40 min commute. Again you'll be with the wrong flow of traffic.

(4) Det. Stay away. Ok to visit but not to live there. If ur in the areas listed 1-2 ur 20 min from downtown.

$150

I hit three numbers and the mega ball for $150.  Missed the fourth number and $10K by one digit.  Spent $10.

Fuckin' A!

Six 4* recruits....beating Ohio....and rubbing it in all of my Sparty friends' faces!!!!

Hoke-a-Mania

I attendned his speech at the Detroit Athltetic Club a month or two after his hire.  Any doubts I had going into that night were quickly erased.  As many have said, he "gets" what he means to be at Michigan.  He has an uncanny ability as a speaker to express this on a level that leaves his intended audience nothing short of ready to run through a brick wall for him.  I can't imgagine what it would be like to be a 17 / 18 year old kid again and hearing this one-on-one.  Throw in Mattison and you can see why yesterday happened.  It'g going to be a great ride over the next few seasons to see what he and his coaches can do with these kids.  As the saying goes..."It's great....to be...a Michigan Wolverine!"  GO BLUE!!!

Stoli bombs!

Stoli bombs and my boys rock band!

Spot on. Let's also not forget...

the 30-40 mph winds.  I'll admit Denard will never fire them like Big John Navarre, but I think we can cut him a little slack for errant throws in that wind.  Denard is our best 'QB' and the game was there to win yesterday.  I hate losing to Sparty almost as much as tOSU, HOWEVA I'm still confident 9 plus wins and a high end bowl game are in store for this season.  Let's be happy the D still looks good (compared to years past) and we have a numer 1 class coming in.  The future is bright and Denard will be just fine.

Only averaged 1.8 ypc. I think they brought in shaw to stretch to the outside. It's nice to have a senior with experience to bring in when the game so dictates b

I am sounding...

like a MIchigan Man should.  Not arrogant.  Not entilted.  I am simply stating we need the mentality that we expect to be amongst the best and if you're coming to our house you better know who you are playing!

You think it is Michigan-like to whine about being ranked because we're playing San Diego St. next week and would rather be under the radar?  San Diego St!!!!  It's disgusting.

Big Difference....

Mattison....check!

GERG....gone!

GO BLUE!!!

WTF!?!

This thinking is not the Michigan way.  This is exactly the kind of mentality that Hoke and Co. are trying to purge from this program.  "Fly under the radar a little longer" so an unraked SDSU team is not "motivated" for a game in the Big House?  Bo just turned over in his grave.  I'm sorry, I don't mean to call anybody out personally, but as a lifelong fan and alumnus it sickens me that our program has sunk to this type of low.  ANY team coming to the Big House should be motivated as all hell and we should be wearing a great big bulls eye on our chests that reads "We ARE Michigan...COME GET SOME"!!!  Thank God Hoke and Mattison are righting this ship.

One of my all-time favorite Wolverines...

I was at the UM football camp the year after he broke his hand.  I remember one of the coaches telling the story that he was in the dorm talking to some girl and she accidentily shut the door on his hand and broke it.  Quickly learning to snap left handed was only topped by playing several games with is jaw wired shut.  An absolute beast and the epitomy of ManBall!  Great to see Hoke is having him rubb off on the current team.  Go Blue!!!

Exactly...

what I was thinking.

#99 Jake Frysinger...

Played TB in H.S. at about 6'4 235lbs.  Ended up being a servicable DE for four years (98-01) playing at around 280ish pounds.

Lidstrom and Vlad as rookies in '91.  Thought it was a cool pic given tonight's milestone and puts a little perspective on how long he's been around.

Sometimes...

I wish there was an exception to this rule, perhaps only because it was a term originated by Larry Foote.  Or at least he's the first one I ever heard use it.

I am well aware of that...

Howeva....since I began using that stat a couple weeks ago, none of my Sparty friends have been clever enough to so retort.  Let them do their own work.

42 - 6 1/3

Michigan has 42 Big Ten Championships, MSU 6 1/3.  I think the recruiting matters just a little bit.

Student Ticket Validations

I was using student tickets for a few years after graduation and never got the stickers. Our strategy was to target the really old guys that are checking tickets at the main gate.  Never had a problem.  That of course is still my strategy to smuggle in my cocktails.

Thx! Needed a laugh...

Just got off the phone with the car dealerhsip and they're telling me $2200 to fix my 4x4...

Rogers

Really great guy!  I had the pleasure of drinking with him and his cousins after a game in Atlanta in the summer '07 (maybe '08).  He was hurt that year and it was his first start coming off a two month DL stin.  He actually pitched a 6 inning, 2 hit, 0 ER game, and we ran into them at this little bar later that night.  We flew in from Detroit just for the Tigers v Braves series and I thought it was the coolest move ever that he let us drunken idiots, still in our Tigers jerseys, hang out and have one hell of a story to tell for the rest of our lives.
