The bearded Mountain Man Standing Behind Hoke During Interview at game's end

That's MSC's son. Not kidding.
September 11th, 2011 at 10:33 AM ^
Thanks for the info. I had no clue why he was standing next to Hoke during the post game interview and hanging with the players. It makes sense now.

It took me about 15 seonds to figure out who it was. I really enjoyed watching him play for Michigan. Very good player, even though I think he was a little undersized.

I was wondering about that...awesomeness. Did you recognize him immediately? The beard through me. I loved having all the greats back last night.
Perfect.

He decided to switch to being a Wolverine fan after Kelly's antics.
September 11th, 2011 at 11:38 AM ^
Jesus has always been a Wolverine fan. Takes after his dad.
September 11th, 2011 at 8:19 PM ^
Then how do you explain our losing streak to OSU and everything that's happened the past few years?
September 11th, 2011 at 8:39 PM ^
The devil cheats.
September 11th, 2011 at 10:28 PM ^
Perhaps the reason for the pattern of losses against OSU will be revealed to us in time.
September 11th, 2011 at 10:50 AM ^
Or duder, his dudeness, or el duderino
September 11th, 2011 at 10:53 AM ^
But I knew that whomever he was, he abides.
September 11th, 2011 at 10:51 AM ^
I was certain it was the Spirit of Manball guiding Hoke...This will also do.
September 11th, 2011 at 10:55 AM ^
Spirit of Manball.... So fitting and I still can't stop laughing. Brian must use that as a running theme.
September 11th, 2011 at 11:33 PM ^
Please

"Spirit of Manball"
Soooooo needs to be on a t-shirt.

I am as anxious for that ship to right itself as anything else.

The Everitts are resilient folk. Steve, who is righthanded, has been snapping the ball with his left hand since dislocating his right thumb two weeks ago against Minnesota. In the second game last season, against Notre Dame, Everitt broke his jaw. Surgeons inserted a plate and four screws to hold the jaw in place, but last month, during dinner with his parents, one of the screws came out. Recalls Everitt, "I was chewing and thought it was something in the food. I spit it out and couldn't believe it."/wha?

at the '08 Northwestern game (yes, THAT one), he only wore a long sleeved t-shirt.
!!!
September 11th, 2011 at 11:18 AM ^
I was at the UM football camp the year after he broke his hand. I remember one of the coaches telling the story that he was in the dorm talking to some girl and she accidentily shut the door on his hand and broke it. Quickly learning to snap left handed was only topped by playing several games with is jaw wired shut. An absolute beast and the epitomy of ManBall! Great to see Hoke is having him rubb off on the current team. Go Blue!!!

He was here during RR's tenure as well.
September 11th, 2011 at 11:25 AM ^
streak over :(
September 11th, 2011 at 11:06 AM ^
the guy who missed one but played several games with a broken jaw? Old farts, help me out!
EDIT: Never mind, y'all are FAST
September 11th, 2011 at 11:20 AM ^
you are correct.
September 11th, 2011 at 11:04 AM ^
One of my favorite UM players of all time. The dude injured his hand and learned to snap the ball left handed. True awsomeness!
September 11th, 2011 at 11:12 AM ^
I told my wife I thought it was Steve Everitt. She said "God, he looks psycho". I said yeah
<br>That's a good description.
September 11th, 2011 at 11:14 AM ^
presenting.....
MANBALL JESUS!
Seriously, though - LOVE seeing the greats back. How cool is that?
September 11th, 2011 at 11:22 AM ^
endless list of fantastic OL to play for the University of Michigan.
September 11th, 2011 at 11:48 AM ^
I remember watching the replay with blood streaming from his face. If it was against the Domers, how sweet this victory is .... well its sweet anyway.
September 11th, 2011 at 12:01 PM ^
We were calling him Brady Hoke's pet Viking.
September 11th, 2011 at 12:10 PM ^
Paging Kurt Sutter. Everitt is just begging to be cast in a role on Sons of Anarchy.
September 11th, 2011 at 12:14 PM ^
The people I was watching with thought he was weird.
I thought he was awesome.
September 11th, 2011 at 8:38 PM ^
"wierd "
well, he was an art major. For real.
September 11th, 2011 at 12:15 PM ^
September 11th, 2011 at 10:32 PM ^
that he is on our side. He looks like techno-viking except even more terrifying and somehow still polite.
Don't be a douche or he will destroy you.
September 11th, 2011 at 7:19 PM ^
is so epic! It's exactly how I'd expect a conversation with SteveEveritt to go. The pic is awesome too.
September 11th, 2011 at 12:35 PM ^
I didnt realize who he was at first I thought someone had let Techno Viking into the game for the halftime show.
September 11th, 2011 at 12:36 PM ^
But when he does he drinks Dos Equis
September 11th, 2011 at 1:57 PM ^
He was also in the corner of the endzone hugging the players after the last kickoff.
September 11th, 2011 at 4:17 PM ^
Dude was intense all game. At one point he got into a heated and animated yelling match with some A-hole ND fans in the front row that were antagonizing him. Gotta love him.
September 11th, 2011 at 5:27 PM ^
I was in the front row in the endzone with all ND families with my Mike Hart jersey and he gave me a hug and high five as the rest of the ND contingent was yelling fuck yous at him, but he was awesome.
September 11th, 2011 at 10:20 PM ^
That dude made everything even more awesome.
