Thought we could link the tweets from today in one topic. Here are some, there are more in the thread
BTN Bus Tour Stop number 8 #Wolverines - Headed to morning practice - will be second East team we've seen - been to all West except Purdue
— Gerry DiNardo (@gerrydinardo) August 19, 2015
No real surprises on OL - looked like Cole, Braden, Glasgow, Kals, Magnuson. Drevno singled Blake Bars out as having had good camp
— Dave Revsine (@BTNDaveRevsine) August 19, 2015
WR looks to be about what it was a year ago - issue will be whether a deep threat can emerge. Better OL play could obviously help there
— Dave Revsine (@BTNDaveRevsine) August 19, 2015
I'd be surprised if Grant Perry doesn't contribute some at WR. Tough to tell on Brian Cole - kind of up and down
— Dave Revsine (@BTNDaveRevsine) August 19, 2015
Dressed in his uniform of a blue “M” cap, long-sleeve shirt and—what else?—khakis, Harbaugh spent most of time with QBs. Always instructing.
— Tom Dienhart (@BTNTomDienhart) August 19, 2015
A very business-like practice at Michigan today. No music blared. A classroom environment with lots of teaching. Nobody walked or lingered.
— Tom Dienhart (@BTNTomDienhart) August 19, 2015
PR looks like it'll be Peppers and Chesson. Peppers looked great overall today and DJ Durkin said he's had an outstanding camp
— Dave Revsine (@BTNDaveRevsine) August 19, 2015
PK remains up in the air - still doesn't look like an area of strength. Aussie P Blake O'Neill got off some boomers - impressive
— Dave Revsine (@BTNDaveRevsine) August 19, 2015
BTN Bus Tour #Wolverines I would not be surprised if both QB played in opener against Utah. Game play sometimes is best way to decide

@CoachJim4UM spent a great deal of practice time on special teams.#Alwaysagreatidea

Griffith on Michigan using the spread punt
@Lofter4 that’s an answer that has to stay on the sub@BTNDaveRevsine

but how much of an "upset" is any win against our 2014 squad? To me an upset is a lesser team beating a better team. If they want to show teams beating us when we were good, I'm fine with that. But showing the entire B1G beating up on us last year is just salt on the wound.
The Florida win was in 2008. Great game, but still not "classic" in the way I'm talking about. Maybe show the 1995 OSU game? Or some from the 10 year war?
August 19th, 2015 at 11:48 AM ^
a number of schools still count it as a big win even when we suck. No one is showing highlights of someone beating a 6-2 Purdue team because no one cares. Beating a 2-3 Michigan team is still a big deal to Rutgers because This Is Michigan TM

years of suck has just been wearing on me. Giving the Utes a good curb stomping should help.

They generally only like to show games from the last 7 or 8 years. I think this has a lot to do with when many of the broadcasts switched to HD. If you've ever tried to watch a SD game on an HDTV it looks like absolute shit.
I do agree though. I wish they would take the time to digitize a few older games so the same set of games aren't shown over and over.
August 19th, 2015 at 1:24 PM ^
I just like to see good games. Games played when Michigan was great and opposing teams crapped their pants walking into our stadium.
Also, HD is overrated as a technology. Watch your local news in HD on a huge screen and you'll see what I'm talking about. I don't need to see every wrinkle, hair, pimple, and age spot to understand the weather report.
(also, +1 as always for avatar)

Yeah, but it seems like BTN runs Michigan vs Rutgers at least five times a week right now. It has to be getting a bit old even for the six or seven Rutgers fans who watch BTN...

I think this is slightly misguided, though I would say that they used to show a lot more Michigan content. But I think the main reason they show less these days is 1) two more teams to feature and 2) We haven't been very good in the past decade so they're trying to promote the rest of the conference more.
I caught the 2011 UTL Notre Dame win this past weekend.
Also, I'm not sure how many pre network games they have rights to. They run a lot of documentary programming about older teams though, including one on the '97 championship team.

pre-Big 10 wins for them then. They show older Nebraska games.

BTN Bus Tour #Wolverines I was very impressed a year ago as well as today so maybe its more developing as a team, chemistry & leadership?

Gerry had 7 straight losing seasons at Vandy and Indiana. At LSU he had some initial success, but in year 4 went 4-7 and starterd year 5 at 2-8 (with wins over SJSU and North Texas) before getting fired.
It's quite possible he just doesn't know what he's talking about.

Same with Corso ...DiNardo. Most of these former coaches who permanently enter the media. Terry Bowden and Bob Davie.
They couldn't coach but suddenly their opinion is taken as significant.

I mean, part of the reason is that guys who can coach are, you know, coaching.
August 19th, 2015 at 11:51 AM ^
that assclown Corso. DiNardo at least sounds pretty intelligent most of the time.
August 19th, 2015 at 12:45 PM ^
I don't GAF about his analysis, but he makes me laugh. He's a harmless, aging, former coach who is funny at times. I'm kind of sad that he's starting to lose it. I really look forward to his headgear selection each week on site of the big game. Also, I'm still laughing about his "...aww, fuck it" moment. TV gold right there.
August 19th, 2015 at 12:57 PM ^
Agreed. He's more of an entertainer than a sportscaster, but TV needs those as well. I find him very entertaining.
August 19th, 2015 at 11:59 AM ^
His record is actually pretty solid, especially by IU standards. He had success at Louisville (28-11-3) and once he got the ball rolling in Bloomington he won 3 to 5 conference games just about every year, lasted 10 seasons, and won a bowl game.

99% of folks know Corso as GameDay guy, not as a coach.
The fact he refers to MICHIGAN as "Big Blue" doesn't help him
August 19th, 2015 at 12:24 PM ^
does not mean he can;t recognize talent on the field. Remember, a head coach that failed was a very good position coach or coordinator, which is how he got the HC job.
August 19th, 2015 at 11:37 AM ^
WTF does this even mean?
August 19th, 2015 at 11:54 AM ^
Here's how I read it:
"This year's team looks good but then again I thought last year's team looked good too so what the fuck do I know."

Do you only post photos and gifs of Australian wildlife? If not, you should.
August 19th, 2015 at 12:05 PM ^
I don't always post photos and gifs of Australian wild life, but quite often I do. The term "wildlife" is a bit offensive to me since I'm quite civilized indeed . . NOT.
