Tufele: “I was surprised that Tufele was not a little bit bigger physically, but that did not stop him from absolutely dominating during Army week. He was unstoppable in one-on-ones, a physical kid who also has tremendous speed to shoot gaps and get in the backfield. Once he adds even more size to his frame, Tufele could prove to be even more unstoppable. Ohio State, Utah, BYU and others remain involved.” – Adam Gorney, Rivals.com National Recruiting Analyst

Ruiz: “The rare polished high school center, Ruiz is a natural fit for the position. He shined at this year's Under Armour All-America Game, where he displayed impressive extension and solid power. The fact that he's spent his high school career snapping the ball from the center spot is a bonus for Michigan, which could use him at both guard and center early in his time in Ann Arbor.” – Rob Cassidy, Rivals.com Southeast Recruiting Analyst

Gay: “Gay was one of the most impressive players at this year's Mississippi All-Star Classic. He's added significant muscle this year and has retained the same athleticism that has always made him a special prospect. Once committed to Ole Miss, Gay will likely land at either Michigan or Mississippi State.” – Cassidy

Vilain: “Vilain will be a great pass rusher at Michigan, but at the Under Armour All-America Game he showed that he's not a one-trick pony. He played with more power than ever before and had lots of success in practices. Vilain's presence in the backfield during the game showed he will have success against elite competition.” - Friedman

Year 2001 we had either 7 or 8 top 100.  It was an amazing class, with the best RB in michigan history, Kelly Baraka.  Also off the top of my head, Marlin Jackson, Ernest Shazor, Patrick Massey, David Underwood, Tim Mass A Quoy??  lol - my memory is fading, i forgot the rest.  But it was an epic recruiting class.

I've never been a big fan of Taylor, but after watching his Sr. film he is definitely better than a 2* talent.

He really excells as a pass catcher and while his speed isn't elite it's good enough.

If we pass on him I think its more because of the numbers we have coming back at RB than his lack of talent.

Those of you who are also doubters, I would like to hear your opinion of his Sr film.

I usually trust that the coaches evaluate film better than I do, so I usually don't care too much about that. Part of me thinks, however, that the coaches see him as a guy who could contribute in some capacity, but his Southern connection could make him a good recruiter for the team in the future, and might help them in building a pipeline to Georgia or other southern states.

According to his Maxpreps page he only played in 3 games this year.

First of all I'm not sure if the site is accurate. I have a feeling that a top team like Grayson would have accurate stats and record keeping. Not sure if he was injured or if it was a depth chart thing.

Both recruits moms are pro michigan. National analyst just cb'd Solomon to Michigan and I believe he will go to Michigan even if it his moms choosing because it is the right choice. Willie Gay is a hard call. Some say he is a lsu lean and some say it is between us and just msu. With his camp favoring U of M I truly like are chances here also. I feel really good we get one if not both.

I feel like Ruiz is going to be the gem of this class. With early playing time and being as polished as it sounds like he is, I could see him with a legacy that rivals some of the OL greats. No pressure though kid, just come in do awesome and be a captain one day.

May as well just pull his scholly?

Chillax.  McCaffrey is still a senior in high school, and obviously needs to go through a college strength traning program.  Given that Speight has two years of eligibility, and Peters is the class ahead. McCaffrey was going to have his shot to compete during summer practices, but in all likelihood was looking at a redshirt year.

Not digging how they treated Mccafferey.

Watching the AAA game Mccafferey was the only Qb to lead his team on a realistic style drive that ate up clock and involved runs and passes. Tate Martell has a horrid arm and is decent at scrambling. He has bust written all over him. Tua just scrambled. Fromm and Hunter had good long balls. Robinson was the worst.

I think these scouts were a little too "wowed" by single deep ball throws and scrambles and a little too harsh on Dylans current physique. He's clearly has a very high football IQ, has good short yardage throws, and has the frame of a future college star. The only issue he has is his weight which is probably the best issue to have as it wont be hard for coaches at Michigan to bulk him up.

Hopefully more people doubt his skills. He can use this to fuel his fire. Turn him into the next Tom Brady except beeger!

He also missed the first part of the week because of some other event, so that may have played a role as well (not knowing the playbook as well, etc.). Either way, with Speight and Peters ahead of him (and O'Korn available too), he's headed for a redshirt regardless.

The game isn't the only thing they watch. McCaffrey was the 3rd-string QB for the West team. Even though he did a couple decent things in the game, there's more to it than "Oh, hey, those other guys threw good deep balls!" You should also consider the fact that some of those other guys were already ahead of McCaffrey to begin with.

Robinson isn't in the top-100, either, so I don't see much of a reason to bring him up. He was bad, and everybody noticed. If he's still above McCaffrey when the rankings are finalized, then I can see voicing your frustration about him.

McCaffrey missing the first day of practice didn't help either.  They already have such a short amount of time to learn the offense and get in rythom with their teammates.  It certainly isn't something can be overcome and apparently McCaffrey impressed with how quickly he picked things up.

Also curious if he had some better snaps from his center if he would have been able to get a TD.  He had some back luck with snaps in that game that seemed to stall some drives.  I'm still just as excited about what Harbaugh can do with McCaffrey after a redshirt year.

Has gone to far on McCaffrey. He definitely needs to improve on his arm strength. Deep balls we're not his offense in high school. His decision making is excellent, he is mobile, and pretty accurate. He will put some weight on and be a NFL draft pick. Very high ceiling, probably the highest in the 2017 class. Increasing his arm strength is a must.

Kid is 6'5" 195 (according to 247) and if you look at the kid, that's being generous with the weight. You may like his athleticism, but at that weight, he takes a hit from a B1G DL or LB, and you'll be needing a sewing kit to put his body back together. He'll snap in half. Needs a good 15-20 lbs.

Let's be fair here. You're basing your analysis of McCaffrey on two offensive series. They're basing theirs on an entire week of practice where they do nothing but evaluations of players. I'm going to take a wild guess that they probably know how to evaluate that talent more than you do and also had more viewing to base that analysis on. Obviously he wasn't impressive in practices. He showed something the evaluators didn't like. Now that has absolutely no bearing on how he will perform in college. They did their job. They evaluated his abilities and clearly he didn't stack up well. But he's a high school Senior. He's not trotting out onto the field in a college game.

As I remember, the talk about McCaffrey has been that he's raw but athletic with a good arm. No need to worry about the mechanics because Harbaugh. I was impressed by his head for the game on his touchdown drive. He didn't seem to be as fixated as the others on launching it downfield to show off the arm and make a highlight reel. He seemed more focused on managing the drive and actually scoring.
