Wholeheartedly agree, except they really need more than just checking out the flight schedules. They need a bit of compassion.
One man's guess for the rest:
vs. Air Force (9/16): Noon
vs. MSU (10/7): Night (rumored to be so)
at Penn State (10/21): Night
vs. Minneosta (11/4): Noon (unless Minny is better than expected)
at Maryland (11/11): Noon (unleess UMD is better than expected)
at Wisconsin (11/18): 3:30
and I thought we were going to have 2 home night games?
AF the 2nd?
I don't think it was a certainty that we would have two night home games. Only that the Big Ten had the option of giving us two night games (one September, one October) and that most of us believed that would happen. At least that's how I thought it was.
I kind of doubt the UW adminstration will want a night game on November 18th in the second coldest Big Ten city, but you never know.
3:30 ET/2:30 CT seems like the safe bet for our game in Madison.
I wouldn't be suprised to see our game vs. Minnesota a 3:30PM kickoff on BTN. Michigan's home games against bad teams at noon (Cincinatti already confirmed, also Rutgers falls into this category) are attractive draws for the national ABC/Fox broadcasts as most schools won't put good games at noon and we are nationally one of the top 5 biggest draws.
Yet, we contractually must have at least one of our home games on BTN (and it might be two). When BTN grabs U of M home games, they tend to like them at 3:30 to boost BTN ratings even further, as they pretty much never get more than the minimum amount of games in Ann Arbor/Columbus.
I'd guess one of Air Force/Minnesota will be 3:30 on BTN and the other will be Noon on national TV.
as a night game without blinking. Good atmosphere for the players, fans and recruiting. If they can go to the Packers game at a subzero temperature, they sure hell can go to Wisconsin Night game this late of the season.
Why do people put Wisky instead of Wiscy when there isn't a K in Wisconsin?
Why do Michaels go by Mike? Why does Missouri go by Mizzou?
I love noon games if I'm watching from home, which is often. I love night games if I'm attending.
Very selfishly noon games are much easier for me to watch.
I'm flying up from Florida for the Bob Seger concert the weekend of 09/09. I'm sort of glad that's a noon game. I might try to scalp a $20 ticket outside the stadium and stay until halftime before heading off for pre-concert tailgate festivities.
I'm a little torn because I graduated from WMU and they're playing Sparty in East Lansing that day. If that game has a noon kick-off......I might try to head up there. The Broncos could have a reasonable chance of beating them depending on how much disarray Sparty is in after all of the legal issues (and 3-9).
Good luck on the $20 ticket thing. Maybe midway thru the 1st quarter near the RR tracks..
I'm not familar with the rules on how these things are decided, but does anybody know when we might know the time for the Wisconsin game?
As fate would have it, I will be in the Wisconsin Dells that weekend and I am going to be all over that road game if it's a noon kickoff. 3:30 or 8:00 and it'll interfere with my other happenings that I am out there for in the first place, but if its noon I'd be back well in time.
It is sort of too bad the hockey games are at night or else that would be tempting too.
go to the games and don't usually tailgate, the early games are better. It gives us time to get home, maybe even stop at the store, and cook dinner while watching the late afternoon games.
More please!
Keeping my fingers crossed. Nothing I would enjoy more than to spank them on national TV at night. A fitting end to the golden age of Spartan football, if there can even be such a thing.
Living on the west coast I don't mind noon games. I go swim in the morning and get home around right before kick off. Then I have the rest of the day to watch more football or go do something else.
This is exactly what I do. Swim, come home, have breakfast, watch the first games. If the game is in the evening, I freak out all day, wanting the game to start. I don't know how everyone tolerates waiting around all day for the game to start.
To make matters worse, my wife typically gets antsy around dinner time and is tired of me watching football games all day. If Michigan isn't @ night, I'll usually hang out with her for a little while and then can watch the second half of the night games, depending on what is good/close.
when Michigan plays. They could all be 4:30 am games. I'm still upwatching half loaded on Michigan brewed beer and Scottish Whisky.
The only surprise of the game times released today was Penn State vs. Ohio State. It will kick off at 3:30PM instead of a night game, due to FOX grabbing rights but also having the World Series.
Buckeye land is not happy.
At least Rutgers can blame their impending loss on the extreme time zone change while traveling so far west to play a homecoming game at noon.
/NO THEY CAN'T
