Michigan Stadium Getting New Light System
This was reported on yesterday but I didn't see it on the board. We've seen lighting systems like this at places like Alabama and nebraska. Something the Old Blues will grumble about and the kids will love.
Mr. Brightside light show vs Bowling Green let's goo
"Coming out of my cage, and I've been doing just fine..."
lol I try not to think about the lyrics went I'm belting that song at the top of lungs.
Blake Corum's new TD celebration:
All the kids who put in LED tape lights in their bedrooms during COVID are now in college and demanding it at the stadium. Or so I've read.
I thought my daughter was the only one. The scariest was when she turned the lights red and shut the door, and the red glow emanated from under the door like she was doing satanic rituals in there.
She was.
clutch those pearls.
My son did as well. And his bedroom window faces the street, so the whole neighborhood knew when he was sacrificing to Baal.
The dry-wall marks when we took down the lights: Priceless.
I hope it's flattering.
That helicopter was SO LOUD.
I thought it was a bank robber running around the Old West Side yesterday ( working near Washtenaw Dairy). It was hours with a 1/2 hour break for gas and donuts.
That helicopter looked like an old relic from the Vietnam era.
Per the article, "Michigan Stadium will have a slightly different vibe this fall.."
hmmm
Now all we need is the stripper pole and the recruits will be coming to Ann Arbor in droves.
That will never stop being creepy as shit.
Well...
The NIL payments will be made in crumpled, sweaty singles.
"Welcome to the Goody room."

I can't help but think about the fact that one day #6 will have to explain this to his children.
U of M's new lighting system brought to you by Deja Vu...
Girls, Girls, Girls!
TBH, I'm not sure what this really means. The article is short on details. If it's just more of the 'down in front' crowd going into anaphylactic shock, I'm ambivalent!
“I’m addition to…”
Nice editing at SI. It’s the first word in the article!?
Michigan Stadiun. Well done, SI
Jesus, that is disgusting. We shouldn't have to read published articles with red pens handy.
The same sentence says it's coming to Michigan Stadiun. Do editors and grammar check not exist anymore?
Tell ChatGPT to shit something out and hit publish is the way things are going, rapidly.
At least ChatGPT doesn't make stupid typos and spelling mistakes. Unlike its human counterparts, its stream of misinformation and bullshit is grammatically and typographically perfect.
Well, it's the EDITORS who are being replaced who used to read and fix shit like that. . . kind of a serpent eating its own tail. And it's literacy itself that's getting lost, as a read of your great-grandpa's Civil War letters home will quickly make clear. . . Still, we have a pretty good 500-year run from the time of the press, move to national languages from Latin, and capitalist printing. . .
Considering the financial state of the media, no they don't have editors anymore.
It just hit me. That's an autocorrect error. Did someone seriously write that headline on their smartphone?
What UTL special had that weird egg-thing wheeled out at halftime to a Beyonce song, giving a brief flash of excitement that Queen B would jump out of it for a surprise halftime show, but all we got was some glitchy scoreboards and flashing lights?
Notre Dame 2013
This sounds horrific. Just imagine it being paired by the talentless DJ we have to suffer.
Get off my field and keep it green!
whats up boomer
You like the DJ, Greg?
I agree, Mr. Jones.
Mr Jones and me, smilin' in the bright lights, comin' through in stereo
Wow, new scoreboards and lighting effects!! I’m gonna check on some other games and….WTF, no internet?
Any word on an updated Game Day Wi-Fi / Cellular infrastructure to support the fan base?
The light shows, I believe, were intended to link to fans cell phones - but, it's not exactly a "quick" connection - and huge (corrected) issues with the connectivity. Hoping they just add this Wi-Fi capability to the updated lighting.
My understanding of the technology used for that is you don't need an internet connection. The phone listens to the song and then starts running a preloaded script. If you didn't have the app open in time or didn't give it permission to use your mic, it won't work.
EDIT: Here a link to how it works. https://www.cueaudio.com/documents/5/cue-deck-lightshow.pdf
Gosh, that’s worse than I imagined.
TBM, I tried to be a "good" Michigan fan - and, when light shows were attempted last season - I downloaded the app - opened the window - etc. BUT - it seemed like there was a noticeable delay.
And, at games - I don't need significant connectivity / bandwidth - just to have "enough". I might look at a couple of out of town scores during the game - but, that's about it.
Mobile phone connectivity would be helpful when trying to find friends - or pointing out where "exactly" the tailgate location is - etc.
I just explained how the technology works; I'm 100% with you on connectivity. But then again, I also enjoy all of our phones going crazy with notifications once we get a solid connection lol. The car sounds like we just hit the Jackpot!
Well, if it is good enough for the Edmonton Oilers, I'm sold!
I have "hug issues," as well. My therapist says it's an intimacy thing.
"In addition to the larger scoreboards that are nearly complete in each end zone..."
LOLWUT His definition of "nearly complete" must be "shitloads of work left to do."
No joke. I drove by there the other day, and the scoreboard towers are still open shells.
for those wishing to experience seizures, have we got a show for you!
My daughter had that issue. Had to leave the Daddy Daughter dance right after we walked in because of the strobes they were running. At least she isn't a football fan so no chance of a repeat.
