We were a basketball school

per my above edit i’m truly…

per my above edit i’m truly a fair weather fan. Even when it’s sunny and 60° I might go for a few innings but they just     d   r   a   g, and I grew up loving Tiger baseball in all forms.

Mens baseball at Fisher…

Mens baseball at Fisher Stadium - trail San Diego 1-0 in the 3rd.

Fire Bakich!

edit: It’s 70° in the Tennis center and 41° on the diamond. I’d choose tennis. The mound visits, pitching changes, confabs with the 1st base coach all seem interminable when temp is below 50°.

Remember when we were back…

Remember when we were back-to-back Big Ten Basketball Tournament Champions in 2017-18? I’d be slacking at work watching games on my phone .

… and the #6 women’s…

… and the #6 women’s lacrosse team totally dominated OSU winning 11-5, improving to 7-0.

I think I’d rather hear…

I think I’d rather hear Craig’s story that he teased us with, than the weekly NIL blather, AD bashing, and premature coaching search talk. Craig at least is entertaining, albeit fairly jejune. (esoteric? marxist sympathizer? scatological?)

Read it days after posting…

I read this days after it’s posting, but I’ve got to nitpick. Very thorough, and exhaustive write up- how many thousand words?

But you got one $20 word, renumeration, wrong. I believe you meant remuneration.

Unless you meant Alabama was going to recount or renumber their roster/ jerseys to entice recruits to flip. Root of remuneration: from “re”- back + munerari - “ to give”. Mind you, I’m just failed engineer who’s now a worker dude, but I have used this word a few times and it made me pause whilst typing “mune” or “nume”.

Yep, Bell’s Change of Heart…

Yep, Bell’s Change of Heart IPA. Same as most of our sentiments in post game comments compared with previous years.

Next week’s beer at Crisler should be this one and a new one, Half Hearted IPA to celebrate this teams effort.

Normally mid-court 20 rows up but made the wise decision to go up to Grand Traverse Bay and will be biking up to Suttons Bay ( no snow so no xc-skiing).

We have a community garden…

We have a community garden just for our little dead end street in the Old West Side in Ann Arbor. Its divided into ~14 plots about 14’x14’. We normally plant a couple tomatoes, peppers, basil, cilantro . etc. The plot right next to ours was empty last year and I meant to plant the whole thing with sweet corn, but life and my tendency to be sedentary on my few afternoons off won out.
So where/what seeds should I plant/ procure, oh master gentleman farmer?

My son’s freshman year at M was RR’s first year,( i know, sucks for him) and he would show me quotes and pictures from this “blog” site. I started checking in here a couple times a week. As of the Hoke years probably only missed a few days each month. Go Blue!

I’ll be stuck in A2 watching with a bunch of future alumni in Crisler Arena. The food and drink selection will definitely be better at all y’alls parties whether in Huntsville or Dubai.

Zak was there with his parents, still on crutches, but it seemed like he barely needed them. Leg seemed like it was in "Dang, this thing itches" stage. Been there myself with two broken arms and arm surgery.

Billy Simms rookie year at Tiger Stadium … it was cold and terrible view from way back in the lower deck of left field, but I loved it.

Thanks Seth for all the good links for meaningful giving this season. Hope to high five The (healthy) Boy in Crisler (or Yost) at some games this year.

I used that bike lane after the OSU game. Was back home by 4 watching a late afternoon game while you were stuck in traffic.

That dude is at all the games and sometimes reads the paper ( WStJ?). He also has his last name on few buildings around campus.

The pleasure was all mine meeting one of the nicest, frequent posters on this here board.

p.s. the venerable Craig Ross reads Alan Furst paperback novels at UM hockey and softball.

My daughter and I (Beloved Alums) gave blood yesterday at the Be A Hero at The Big House, part of the 41st annual Blood Battle v. OSU. There are plenty of more opportunities to give this week across campus ( and the country). Donate Blood, Beat the the Buckeyes, and Go Blue!

I’ll second ‘89’s opinion. I started out ushering in his section 108/110 (w/ Herb) , moved to 101, then court-side, now 105 and they’re all good and yes rows 12-20 would be my preference, close enough, but high enough to see the whole court. Above the Maize Rage would give you the same perspective - secs. 120-126. Stop by 105 and say hello! Go Blue!

Some out of town fan had this exact problem for Gymnastics or Volleyball when I was down at the Lacrosse stadium. He shows me the map on his phone with Chrysler Center, Arthur Miller Theatre , Bonisteel Dr. etc - saying “ I know it’s around here somewhere, but the map says it’s 15 minutes away!”

This is the answer MOST…

This is the answer MOST games - basketball turns this free lot, a short walk past football practice field and softball, into a pay lot with three times the traffic both before and after.

Get there early 5:45-6:00, park in the neighborhood east of State south of Packard (students abandon parking spots after a  long week of playing school). Walk up State, eat a nice campus dinner at Pizza Bob’s or Mr. Spots, and then stroll down to Yost and make sure to find Scanner by the Zamboni pit between periods.

Damn -outta nowhere! I’ve seen all but about 3 home games this year and this is about as good as they’ve played. They were hard to watch in August - you’d hope for a 0-0 draw.

Yo sb  here  - busy at work so didn’t see this - but my user name is a little outdated - more like Portal blue.  Yes there are metal detectors at each gate now after a few Beta tests at various gates the last few games. I am up sweet talking and entertaining the visiting team’s parents in the SE corner.

i’ve offered my guest / kids bedroom to robf and xm and they have yet to take me up on it. A little  less than a mile from the stadium - one double bed - your own bath - blueberry pancakes or egg scramble for breakfast - me and the wife (both alums) and cat (grad of the Cat Cafe) will be upstairs.

I’ve given and i’ve received, and yes it’s a great community. xm has given me football tix, Matt Demorest has given me basketball tix. I’ve given basketball and hockey tickets to random bloggers … Go Blue!

4:30 wake to rain in my skylight a mile from the Big House -  7:45 in the pool for 3/4 mi. - 9:00 bike to stadium - 9:30 don my poncho in my portal for six hours of glorious game day - 3:40 bike home (rain has stopped {maybe?}) - 3:46 20 minute shower to relax and warm up.  Going to be a wet day - Beat the Hoosiers! Go Blue!
