PSA reminder track and field on B1G now flip over during timeouts and halftime. men’s mile right now.

Thanks WD. I was doing my cultural stuff (naked Greek guys at Power Center) but I will be at some of the later gymnastics events. Are you going to the track invitational or watching Bball today?

PSA --- the Simmons-Harvey Big Ten Invitational will be aired from 12-3:30 on the B1G so switch over after basketball or during halftime and timeouts. We're hosting OSU, MSU, PSU, Maryland and Nebraska.

This is where I'll be tomorrow.

Simmons-Harvey B1G Invitational starts at 11am and its on B1G network (as opposed to hockey). So switch over during Bball timeouts and during halftime and watch some running , throwing and jumping. If you look closely you might catch a glimpse of me by the shot putters or the sand pit for long jumping.( Blue polo with maize sleeves under it).Screen Shot 2019-01-18 at 8.37.07 AM.png

01/17/2019 - 5:46pm Hey, EQ have you been back…

Hey, EQ have you been back inside yourself since they remodeled you? ( I lived  in  Hinsdale , Tyler and Green and my daughter  was in Strauss and my brother was in the first year of the Res. College so I know you well).

01/07/2019 - 12:45pm Your plan reminded me of…

Your plan reminded me of what I did last year. Watched the first half, falling asleep on couch, hit record, wake up watch 2nd half over breakfast. ( Just don’t look at your phone or listen to radio). Fast forward thru ads, reviews, targeting calls, TO’s and 40 mins later off to work.

The fans in Crisler don't intimidate the opponent, they sit on their hands ...blah , blah. Glen and I did our part ( even though he was working as a scout).

01/06/2019 - 10:07am The Big Chill had 104,173…

The Big Chill had 104,173 certified (113,411 announced) in 2010. UM also played in Camp Randall earlier in 2010 before 55k in the Culver Cup. The Cold War in E. Lansing was played before 74k.

My daughter sat in the student section at The Big Chill and said it was similar to a UM football game except they played the Blues Brothers song for about 10 minutes straight between the second and third periods.

For all you Brandon and fireworks haters they had postgame fireworks that I viewed from my front porch that were cool on  some random Dec. Saturday over the Westside  A2 skyline.

My coldest day in the Big House was for the Winter Classic on Jan. 1, 2014.  Seventeen and snowing when we opened the gates. After five hours and viewing many beer slushies this is what I looked like.

I'm going to miss watching these guys on defense. I hope Uche can take over the game like his "passenger" could. Plus all the best for the guy on the 45 yd line.

I'm thankful for the MGoDaughter being back in A2 from her service abroad, but am ready for the empty nest phase to resume soon---she uses our car, eats our food and drinks my beer, etc.

I guess my beveledness is conflicted. I have a copy of "Hail to Old Blue" from last Xmas and I've never even opened it. Bad blogger! No Biscuit!

12/26/2018 - 9:03am I'll start. Was a lurker for…

I'll start. Was a lurker for years until I signed up for the Event Team and figured maybe I have a few behind the scenes tidbits to add to a discussion now and then. I was assigned to scan tickets before redeploying to a portal in the bowl, so scanner blue was born.

My picture is a collection of authentic Michigan AD produced balls/puck plus a 200 year anniversary cube. I sometimes play a game with kids at games where they have to pick two of the four objects in front of them that actually hit me in the face at a UM sporting event. If you pick correctly you can win a fabulous M themed prize! The choices... hockey puck from Yost, baseball from Fisher, lacrosse ball from Oosterbahn, golf ball from the U of M course. Truth be told, most get a prize even if they answer incorrectly. Answer later in the day.

12/24/2018 - 11:56am I’m a little upset that “…

I’m a little upset that “ One Shining Moment “ even exists and that some programming wank over twenty years ago thought it was a fabulous tune that needed to be played as confetti rains. Also the dude who wrote it makes money off of it and lives a mile away and I had to exist in the same space as him at a party and I couldn’t tell him his stupid song makes me nauseated and therefore I go to bed before ever seeing the CBS tournament highlights.

12/23/2018 - 9:22am Thank you kind sir. I gave…

Thank you kind sir. I gave out an M flag and a Go Blue foam glo stick to two toddlers at yesterdays game. The dad had to take the flag off the plastic stick for fear of Jim Brandstatter getting poked in the eye in the row behind them.

12/23/2018 - 8:46am edited as you commented …

edited as you commented ...stupid UM engineers with low GPA's are gonna stupid.

12/23/2018 - 8:24am I'll air my grievance... and…

I'll air my grievance... and it's with Brian. I was banned on Ann Arbor primary election night at about 11:50. Brian chose to do a political write-up a few days before endorsing candidates for mayor, city counsel and U of M regents. The fine citizens of the Peoples Republic of Ann Arbor did not agree with him. He went 2-5---ooof!

I decided to write a brief tongue in cheek UFR of his performance. While not nearly as well written as a post by Mr. Cook, I don't think it was ban-worthy. Delete it and send me a snarky email, maybe. A quick check of my posting history would reveal pretty inocuous stuff ( I was one of the first to misspell Ruddock after watching him at a closed practice --  no names on jersies and no roster had been released, in my defense). I am sure a few dozen people saw my inappropriateness before it was removed on a very slow, late Tuesday.

I was relegated to the pit of despair with the likes of Maizen, Bluey and Ghost's of everybody for two weeks before Seth came back from vacation (emailing Brian did nothing) and reinstated me. My Festivus words of wisdom ... sometimes it is better to stop drinking (Two Hearted) and go to bed. Go Blue!

12/22/2018 - 10:12pm I assume you mean other than…

I assume you mean other than Iggy who looked back to his impressive form. Johns came in early and promptly lunged and fouled their big man shooting a three and then I think he got fouled and missed his shots. That was it until garbage time and I think  DeJulius might have made one foul shot. Overall just meh.

12/22/2018 - 12:41pm Thanks for these Bigdemo and…

Thanks for these Bigdemo and Seth, love the Future Blue peeking at daddy’s screen. Matt —-a big thank you and happy holidays for all the free beers and B-ball tickets I received from you. Stop by Sec 104 at a game and I’ll give you a proper in person thanks (say “Hey Carl” at row 20).

12/19/2018 - 6:53pm You want people to come on…

You want people to come on down and chat, yet you give zero advance notice. I was over at the Y, about 4 blocks away, but knew nothing about it until I got home. I'll chastise you (Seth) at an upcoming hockey game.

12/19/2018 - 3:33pm I've got a six foot chunk of…

I've got a six foot chunk of redwoood bench from the student section/north endzone leaning up in my garage. Have no idea what I'll ever do with it.

12/19/2018 - 11:37am Don't forget significant…

There also might be significant playing time for Joey Velasquez. We need a speedy center fielder, but it sort of depends on his bat, on base percentage.

12/19/2018 - 11:32am Don't leave out Jake McCurry…

Don't leave out Jake McCurry. (He has a height listed---too soon?)

12/19/2018 - 11:25am For years it was all the…

For years it was all the Devin's are belong to us -- Gardner, Funchess, Asiasi, Bush (Sr. and Jr.) now all the Zach's are belong to us (hoping Gentry had a hand boo-boo in his last game).

12/19/2018 - 11:09am UH …

UH .......................that would be two years ago. Last year they went to the back room of the Brown Jug and Dudek and Rogan had a podcast with special guest Marcus Ray ( Big /s .....that would be sarcasm).

12/19/2018 - 9:06am So Dudek mentioned Fireworks…

So Dudek mentioned Fireworks. A week ago Matt Dudek spoke at the Event Team end of year banquet up in the Roth tower. He took a few questions from the hundreds that were gathered. One usher asked about the SEC poaching his recruits (Dax in particular) and how he felt about it. He said something about recruiting is a little different in the south with a big smile on his face. Then he said we have a week left and that recruiting story is not over till signing day. I've had to refrain from posting in all these lemon eating- sky is falling-Webb is a click baiter posts but I sure was holding out hope for Dudek, Al Washington and their crew to get it done. Go Blue!

12/16/2018 - 7:45pm Beleive you me I thought the… Beleive you me I thought the same thing when he walked past me this afternoon. When the procession line stopped with him a few people in front of me I asked what he's doing here? " I had to come back for graduation", he replied. Pure assumption on my part but maybe he was practically done in August and maybe just had a paper to turn in? an independent study course he could finish while in Buffalo? He was definitely proud to be there and waved to famiy up in the stands at Crisler. (He was sitting next to Mone who was sporting a stylish lei.)
12/14/2018 - 6:38pm If you’re ever in the…

If you’re ever in the innards of Schembechler walk up the ramp between the locker room and the coaches offices. It’s probably 40 yds of All-American portraits and brought a chill up my spine as I got around the 1960’s to the present. Devin is a fine addition to the wall.

12/14/2018 - 6:15pm Yep, asked for field /tunnel…

Yep, asked for field /tunnel or section usher. 6 years and never saw the band take the field or the players touch the banner, time for a transfer.

12/14/2018 - 4:34pm I totally agree, they seem…

I totally agree, they seem like best friends.

12/14/2018 - 3:22pm They also had a segment…

They also had a segment where players picked the most likely to have a Bro-mance on the team. Everyone picked Jordan and Isaiah including themselves followed by those two on the big screen together doing some Broey hand/arm greeting.

12/14/2018 - 3:14pm Visiting parents (ugly…

Visiting parents (ugly parents to the Children of Yost) sit in 19. 20 is Michigan parents. 21 or 22 is where student athletes have their comp tickets. If you want two periods of Michigan on offense in front of you try 7 or 8 (8 is where UM athletic staff sits). If you want OSU in front of you for two periods on offense (Buckley =OSU fan?) 21 or 22 would be good. Brian looks at his phone in Sec.3.

Usher / part-time ticket seller at your service, Go Blue.

12/14/2018 - 10:32am If you don't like the bowl…

If you don't like the bowl lineup tomorrow, settle in for some good old fashioned Beilein Bronco Bustin. 2 pm tomorrow and it's listed as another sellout !! (how can this be if our fan base doesn't show up until the B1G season).

12/14/2018 - 9:55am No prevarication in my post…

Most of the post is true xm ...I might be "walking on" the field for games next year (and for years to come).

12/14/2018 - 8:36am After touring the facilities…

After touring the facilities and having dinner with Matt Dudek, I have officially decided to spend the next four to five years in Ann Arbor. GO BLUE!

I will be a PidWO* and hope to show up on Special Teams, even though Mr. Dudek kept mentioning Event Team (must be terminology dealing with the new kickoff rules). I would like to thank Coach Herbert and Coach McDaniels who I met back during my summer visits.

Bang Me! and it's great to be a Michigan Wolverine!

*PidWO = Prefered i didn't Walk On.IMG-5894.JPG

12/13/2018 - 4:12pm I last bought a hot dog at…

I last bought a hot dog at Michigan Stadium in the late 90’s. Went home and had stomach cramps all through an evening game, followed by a rough overnight. I do eat my employee meal now in Crisler, but unless I have a comp ticket, I’m not eating in the Stadium . I don’t even bring any money most events.

12/11/2018 - 10:14am Don't forget Hutchinson,… Don't forget Hutchinson, just voted defensive scout player of the year I believe. I hope he can slide right into the rotation on d-line. Maybe Aidan and Caden should get a podcast together in a few years during summer conditioning (a la Dak and Dunc).
12/08/2018 - 7:52am I'm sorry this is just not… I'm sorry this is just not true. During Thursday's women's basketball game he came out of the Blavin tunnel after their practice eating nothing but fresh fruit (mainly strawberries and grapes). As far as his mindset goes, he seemed cool, calm and collected. He sat in Sec. 114 with Eli, posed for a few pictures, then walked out of the north tunnel probably to work on a paper or two. He did stop for a moment and talk with Greg Harden while walking out... all will be fine. 14 points., 6 assists, 7 rebounds and only 2 TO's on Saturday afternoon..
12/07/2018 - 11:12am Is your name Ira, and did I…

Is your name Ira, and did I hear you propose this same realignment on the WTKA airwaves this morning?

12/07/2018 - 11:05am Our new receivers coach Ben…

Our new receivers coach Ben McDaniels also prefers the visor. I hope the receivers tear it up in the Peach state and Ben gets some of the credit.

12/07/2018 - 7:39am Beat the Cocks! ( Faux Mo… Beat the Cocks! ( Faux Mo and Hatter edit: Beat Your Cocks!)
12/06/2018 - 10:46pm How about a new dorm? Even…

How about a new dorm? Even with North Quad and the Munger Grad dorm I think they are still a little short on student housing.

12/06/2018 - 10:39pm As a carpenter on the Old…

As a carpenter on the Old West Side of A2 this affects me greatly. I've probably been in there at least once every two weeks for over 30 years. My father in-law was an accountant there for over 30 years also. The best lumber yard in the county by far.

12/04/2018 - 2:35pm Mgrow do you think people…

Mgrow do you think people will come on the board and do a two dimensional image of some pantaloons? They might rend some garments and end up with shreds around there laptop though. When thou dost make use of highfalutin words do so in the correct manner.

12/02/2018 - 7:41pm Yes McElwain had the title…

Yes McElwain had the title but I would guess Ben (or Roy) would be with the receivers on a day to day, or down to down basis just as much. I met Ben over the summer and so recognized him on the sidelines being the one talking to the receivers as they left the field.

12/02/2018 - 7:33pm He's been here since early…

He's been here since early summer. He's been the first one the receivers talk to as they exit the field. Nice guy and great family. Wears a visor just like his brother Josh.

11/30/2018 - 10:09am But what about Belmont? They… But what about Belmont? They're 9th in the NET but 78th in the BPI. With big road wins over Kennesaw St. and Lipscomb the Bruin's fans must be up in arms.
11/30/2018 - 9:17am I'm with you Bo. Teske… I'm with you Bo. Teske played 34 minutes on Wednesday. He still looked pretty fresh at the end, and stayed out of foul trouble, but thats more than most 7 footers are accustomed to. Johns has looked like a typical freshman and Davis hasn't taken the strides Jon has (hopefully he will as the season progresses).
11/30/2018 - 8:51am I wish this was factual. I'm… I wish this was factual. I'm home trying to quell a cough and the crap coming out of my nose and throat so I can sing the Messiah for three hours the next three days. Plus an afternoon of throttling the Boiler Up folks. Bang me like a Homeopath! (Somehow that sounds a bit iffy but I'll leave it).
11/29/2018 - 9:55am How old is your son Carlos?…

How old is your son Carlos? If you get there early I've been known to help youngsters get a photo op or get to hi-five the players as they exit the court pregame. Minimally I can hook you up with some free stuff...sec. 104 usher (and my dad used to call me Carlos)

11/29/2018 - 12:15am Today was as loud as the…

Today was as loud as the Stauskas era when we won the B1G outright. 2300 students today and they were great and filled four sections of the upper bowl. So many happy faces as they exited Crisler.

11/28/2018 - 12:51pm I was always told to "gird… I was always told to "gird my loins" for the tough musical passage upcoming. This was from a former UM music school dean who called me Caruso ( I am also a a red headed tenor). Stirring of loins is way to sexual for this SFW blog.
